One of d churches I happened 2go to today; were doing raising fund 4their 70 millon naira church building project. And I'm lik "what d hell are u doing wit d 70 mllion naira church wen u hav dis (the building whch they're occupying,of which I knw they own is a vry big auditorium&most seats upstairs were empty 2day so what again are u guys building a new church 4?

Instead of them 2support their church members thru empowerment or trainings of any form; they're building churches&telling ppl who don't even hav enuf 2eat 2com&fund it.


Most chuches esp in Abuja are competing with church buildings.Mayb,they think fine/expensive church buildings will attract more or rich members.

Whatever the case may be; they shld stop taxing members. If they want 2build sky scrapers,they shld go&do it out of d offerings,tithes or go 2govt house&beg these politicians who're flying our billions overseas 4money.


They shld stop dis begging habit cos they mak d ppl who're not contributing 4one reason or d other 2feel unworthy; fulfilled or that d blessing of God wil not locate them. What happened 2d church of old!

There're youths in d church who hav finished NYSC without jobs. The little they hav,they use it 2transport themselves 2church 2priase&pray 2their God.

There're widows out there,who're raising 5-6kids alone since d demise of their patner.

There're orphans n church who hav dropped out of sch because there's no one 2fund their education&so on.

If they're raising funds 2help such ppl,it'l b a different ball game but telling ppl 2com&sow their meager salary so dat u can accomplish a 70 million naira church project. Like seriously?


Who even keeps record of all these money? I sat infront 2day&was observing as d head of d commitee was packing money inside waterproof. There were ova 10 waterproofs filled up wit money&i said 2myself,what if dis lady&d guy collecting d money decides 2corner som of these waterproofs filled wit money,who'l knw? The church accountants are enriching themselves while others are out there hustling. They drive big cars, wear expensive gold&suits&evry sunday,they'l cook up one thing 2com&ask 4fund raising. SMH

I'v noticed this as d reigning trend in nowadays church service. I happened 2go to 3 different churches 2day; went 2my own church frm 6-8am; then went 4a frnd's wedding thanks givng then went 4a child dedication&al d churches I went 2were begging 4money. Sow seed; Redeem ur pledges; donate money 4buildng our new church; harvest; dis&dat.

At one of d churches (name withheld) d church programme cam 2a hault just so dat they'l pester ppl wit fund raising. We had 2wait for "50" God forsaken minutes 4all this 2tak place.


They'l come wit their usual style of: "Sow seed in d house of God; bring your savings 2d house of God&it shall multiply (iro ni); u can neva grown 2d height at whch u'r aiming if u don't bring part of ur earnings 2d church (says who: Are u God?)"


Its becoming irritating&overbearing wit d way churches are going abt begging 4money cos I knw dat other religions don't really do so.


Nobody is asking these people u'r asking 4money if they can afford 2eat 3 square meals or if they've gathered money 2renew their rent or if they've paid their children's school fees as schs just reopened or if they've sent money 2their poor parents at home or if they've settled their relation's hospital bill.


People want 2come 2d house of God 2listen 2d word of God inorder 2build their faith; then praise&worship him&contribute whateva they hav&go their way&not 2b ripped off of d little they have.
