How will kepa do well in the same barca that has weak defender like pique who has been ruining the career of the current Barcelona keeper according to the person you're quoting ? Pique is better than Chelsea's CBs |

homesteady: 1) Who now helps Barcelona during corners or free kicks? Is it Messi and Alba? When he was surrounded with them Xavi, Iniesta, Alves, Alba, Neymar, Pedro, and Macherano, who were the people helping Barcelona with set pieces or crosses?
3) Busquets has a reputation for being at the right place at the right time, making vital interceptions and of course doing the dirty jobs. He did not just become a constant in Barcelona midfield only just because he can pass.
Griezmann who has been on Balon d'or podium came to Barcelona and is finding it difficult to fit in. It is not a crime if a player can not fit into a system, that's why there are different systems suitable for different players. 1. Set pieces and counter attacks through wings which normally leads to crossing have been Barcelona weakest point then, and still now. If we must mention players that have contributed immensely while facing set pieces, we'll be mentioning Umtiti, Pique and even Puyol because he's got a good jump and nodding accuracy. Kindly check the aforementioned players and you'll agree with me that they do score with head also during set pieces in their opponent's box 18. Busquet is very useless to Barcelona when it comes to set pieces. 2. The reputation he built in Barcelona then was as a result of paring with midfield maestros like Xavi and Inesta, and this is why.... During that era. Barcelona's midfielders got no business with interceptions, you can only intercept regularly when you are being possessed. Then, they'll posses you and do the play, while you do the marking. They cruise to create, you chase to stop, which gives you, the chaser chances of getting interceptions. Busquet is good, but defensively useless. He can only fit in, in a club like in-form Barcelona and Barcelona. He's very useless without Inesta and Xavi, because without these two, a high defensive prowess will be needed. Can Busquet give that? No!! I agree with your last line. |

Impressive, isn't it? And we've gone that low? Comparing ourselves to ManU? A team yet to win a league in the past 7 years, despite their huge spendings and change of managers. How about comparing us to clubs like Lepzig, Atlanta and Leicester in terms of goals, before we can start thinking of being compared to Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern, Dortumund, Psg, City and Liverpool. Bruv! Lampard is shiiit when it comes to attacking football! Typical pattern of England national team of Golden Generation Era. Nothing else. |

I wake up everyday thanking God for my physique cos I can't imagine myself looking as Lin and weak as Jorginho.
when we had Fabregas, he compensated for his sluggishness with his precision passes which accounted for his many assists. Jorginho is an all round disaster whose presence does not only undermine, but also displaces Kante. At bolded........You'll understand me better if you substitute Busquet with Jorginho there. |

Allison saw VVD and obviously picked them over us.
Valdez was a super star when puyol was there na, and when the anointing was still fresh on young pique's head.
Look at Neuer when boateng was to disgrace himself or Courtios as Zidane returned and the defense received sense.
The reason ATM have been having good keepers is their defensive structure. Most good keepers come from teams like that You spilling the truth bruv!! A keeper need good defenders to be very effective. You can't succeed with Rudiger, Chris and..... Infact, you can't succeed with Chelsea defenders. |

They had so many dangers in their half than going for Busquets, reason he wasn't prominently exposed back then. Still some sensible Barca fans could see his sluggish and terrible dm plays. donjazet: Funny enough, this is exactly the reason why jorginho was bought. For a long time, the club had stated it's ambitions to start playing like a unique brand of attacking football like Barça's and Mancity's that will enable us to be the one dominating big matches rather than being defensive in those matches. As I said before, jorginho has become a victim of Chelsea's managerial instability. Truth bruv! Truth. Sarri would have used him well in Chelsea, but then.....It's Chelsea we are discussing about, you must play like an aggressive tout and bully if you must be loved. |

swiz123: He could offer his height when defending corner kicks.
He could offer us his precision passes. No defensive midfielder reads the game better.
His long legs would help in interceptions and tackles.
His composure in possession when under pressure.
please, don't compare Jorginho with Bousquet.... you mustn't win every argument Bros you funny oo! You dey watch Busquet atall? 1. Busquet height is very useless in Barcelona. He'll hardly score with it, defend with it or win aerial ball with it. He's useless during set pieces. 2. I agree with you. 3. He's long leg interceptions shiit is no different compared to Matic and Bakayoko of Chelsea. Your long leg is useless if you are sluggish. Watch Mac Tomminay, Fabinho and that Portuguese Danilo to know the importance of long leg. You must not be sluggish. 4. I also agree with you. Simply put, he can't fit in, in Chelsea. |

BlueAngel444: lol
I remember that pep saved Xavi's barc career.
You know eh, Lampard has tried but if we didnt have a transfer ban and Sarri stayed one more season and we signed Koulibaly all this kepa and Jorginho story might not be happening.
Our back last season was Cesar, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso, somehow we finished third with wingers that wont shoot, even Higuain couldnt help his career (at some point he almost wanted to shine)
I took time to watch Kepa's last three seasons, when he had Laporte and after Laporte left. Thats the Kepa Madrid wanted to sign.
Look at what pique did to de gea at spain and what he is doing to ter stegen, he is literally ruining their careers. Any objective football fan will agree to the fact that a keeper is useless without a good defender. No keeper alive will succeed with Chelsea's defenders. Imagine Kepa with Barcelona, Juve, ATM or Liverpool defense. Then imagine Oblak, Allison, Neuer and Ederson with these fooools we call defenders in Chelsea. If all the times we've watched Liverpool defenders loose guard, how many times have we seen Allison save them. Omo good keeper Na defense oo! Ask Victor Valdez of Barcelona. |

He changed his pressing game, and the way his team attacked, that he wasn't successful in the UCL is a thing of luck That core principle is what I'm hitting at. A thing of luck? For real? Pep won UCL twice in his last 5 years in Barcelona, he made semis in all. Then he joined Bayern, a team that made it to finals thrice in 4 years, and you are typing about luck. Like, wtf!!! |

BlueAngel444: Salah and KDB improved na,
Salah that plays right forward obviously struggled playing Right attacking midfield, someone that wants to score goals should come and be defending like willian, thats why Cuardado was signed. Just look at how Pedro flopped before Conte came and pushed him forward.
Is it KDB, the only reason Lampard and Oscar started instead of him was because of defensive contributions. And I must say Oscar was damn good, he could shoot, pass, run, dribble and still tackle. KDB went to german and played passes but after some many seasons learnt how to contribute defensively (in his own small way)
Jorginho is just not as lucky as Busquets to have teammate where he can use opponents and play middle man This is the summary of the whole thing which I initially stated. He's in the wrong club and under the wrong coach. Give Pep Jorginho! Introduce Jorginho to Barcelona! If that Guy no make FIFA 11 make I know wetin cause am! |

You don't compare snail with lions, its insulting. Nobody in Chelsea can be compared to the 2. Amoto94:
Guardiola said that he had to adapt to the peculiarities of Bundesliga and change the way he played in Spain, also he said he will adapt to the demands of EPL in a book co-authored by Marti Perarnau titled: Pep Confidential, The Tactical Evolution of Guardiola. In Quiet leadership Ancelotti said he'd to adapt to the various leagues he's coached in. Pep didn't change his style of play in Germany, rather he changed Bayern style of play to his possession style of play. We watched Bayern especially in UCL from 2010 to 2013. We saw how clinical, solid, counter and attacking minded they were. Recall 2013 against Barcelona? Recall how they played and knocked Madrid in 2012 also? These Nighaz were dangerous af then with their German style of play. Then Pep took over, introduced possession game, everything changed, UCL humiliation became a norm to them from Spanish teams throughout Pep's reign. He didn't change his pattern a bit in Bayern. In EPl, he did because he didn't and couldn't get the players he needed for it, not because it can't work in EPl. Afterall, he destroyed and humiliated all the top EPl teams he met with Barcelona aside Chelsea. |

What can you say about them? Chelsea should sell Jorginho and Abraham. We'll be waiting for them to come back and hurt us as usual like the likes of KDB and Salah. |

Amoto94: Jorginho is at best a poor man's Pirlo, Michael Carrick was a better DLP than Jorginho during his playing days yet he was heavily criticized for his lack of athleticism. EPL is a different animal compared to other leagues because the intensity is higher and your DLP must have legs and be physically robust else he will run into trouble, Xabi Alonso was DLP and excelled in that role while playing for Liverpool because of his athleticism coupled with his technical qualities, Fernandinho excelled too in this role because of the aforementioned qualities. The truth is that any style of play can work in any League so long as the exact team got players who are good with that style of play. Barcelona aren't that physical with their pattern of play. Does this mean they'll be relegated in EPl? Same goes with Bayern and Psg. Get a good coach, good players that suit your style and you are good to go. Jorginho is good and not as useless as people criticize him here. I understand your post regarding the needed qualities to excel in his position, especially in a club like Chelsea where you must play like a tout to be valued by their fans. But he is GOOD!!! |

Amoto94: Read this piece by Sebastien Chapuis on Jorginho it's a long read but it detailed some of his shortcomings and how it affect Chelsea games.
https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/platform/amp/features/2020/7/17/21328060/jorginho? Players like Jorginho and Busquet are few these days and not something a big team should sell off. Just pair them with a dirty player and you'll enjoy them. Jorginho is good and will be rated above 80% of midfielders if he play for Pep. Sarri won a major trophy at Chelsea, but Chelsea fans hated him because of his possession game. They are used to Conte and Mourinho style of play. Toooom toooom tooooom! Win by all means!! Just dey booooley the ball like that till it enters the net, forgetting that they don't have strong strikers like Drogba and Costa! |
