The love of money is the root of all evil. He has met his doomsday. |
Back then in our elementary days in primary sch,I remember dis matching song we used to sing then and I bliv it is still sung till date.It goes thus: ''Parents listen to ur children;we are the leaders of tomorrow;try to pay our sch fees; and give us sound education''.D song we sang to our parents when we got back home and today we all of then are successfully thru with dat educational phase. Here,in our present day varsities,we are sent out of skul not because we are in debt of sch fees but because FG is owing ASUU.Wetin concern us? Y are we suffering unjustly for wat is not our bizness?Ok,let me calm down here and speak gently,d FG in its committed efforts made out tym to negotiate with the ASUU body & dere seemed to be a newer and brighter light to the dark cloud that has overshadowed d universities' environments. As expectations & hopes glimmer,d ball now rested solely in the hands of d ASUU body to deliberate and decide weda they are on d same page or not with d FG.On d eve of d 'judgment day' that d decision was to be made,a terrible and pathetic mortal exit of an indispensable member was recorded on his way to d meeting ground which suddenly halted d next day's plan indefinitely and literarily sent d country back to July 1 when it all started. With aggrieved spirit we collectively mourn d demise of Prof. Iyayi, one whose footprints in d educational setting can neva be erased but as we but us students it is lyk a double-tragedy for us and as we mourn in d second sense of d tragedy, who is going to comfort and console us.It is on this note,we therefore urge ASUU to come to a decision without further ado;if positive-WAT A HOLY GRAIL!;& if it is still their continuous course-then we will accept in good fate.At least we deserve to hear something.I think d question ASUU shuld ask themselves is ''how do we honour the man's death''? I'll leave d answer to everyman his own...Concluding on Aristotle's note:'Man is being endowed with d natural ability to discern btw good and bad'. That being said, let's then proceed with discretion. |
