We need to keep in mind that earth is a very spiritual place and to reach certain depths, blood of certain animals is required but there are different levels to this. And there are times when it depends on the quickness of what you want vis a vis your patience level.

Obatala for example takes mainly snail water. Blood of animals depends on what the situation is but mostly few and far between.

Bibo orisa in itself does not mostly require blood but when people go to these orisas with requests to be taken up to God they may want to offer animal bloods for quickness which is also rare considering Esu is tasked with this and he does not require much and and most times no blood.
