Successful applicant should have 3-5 years of experience in a steel manufacturing environment for welding, fabrication, quality control and NDE. Applicant must be familiar with FCAW and welding processes and be able to read manufacturing drawings for fit-up and final fabrication verification and documentation. Should have a good understanding of fabrication codes. Will perform layout, fitting, material verification, welding and final inspection. Responsible for completion of reports for all testing and inspections performed.

Duties are as follows but are not limited to;

• Work closely and communicate with Project Mgrs and field inspectors.
• Coordinate inspections, testing required by projects, and NDE with contractor.
• Maintain quality records, project documentation, including final project book and manage nonconforming products.
• Interpret blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
• Set-up and use of mechanical gaging equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics.
• Work closely with each department to ensure quality procedures are effective.
• Accurate and thorough documentation of inspection results.
• Sound technical judgment and respect for detail along with the ability to prioritize workloads is necessary.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are also required.
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
• Direct supervision of 20+ welders at the manufacturing facility, meeting all safety expectations, production schedules and budgets, and product quality requirements.

Education: Minimum 1st degree in any engineering discipline
