I can marry an ex-convict depending on what they did and if they have changed since that time. There are sick people walking amongst us that are worse than those in prison, and somebody is marrying them, so, why can't I marry an ex-convict?

I hate this whole Ike vs. Mike argument that has permeated this thread. These two guys are 2 peas in a pod in the house and you would think their fans would get along without all these mud slinging. I like the both of them a lot, so, the slander is uncomfortable to read, especially on Ike's person.

Dominique, I particularly want to address your comment on the possibility of Ike selling drugs. Just because a person deals drugs at certain times in their lives for the purpose of making money, does not mean they will do such when you give them money.

Do you know Jay-Z was a drug dealer? The same Jay-Z is now a billionaire musician, helping out hundreds of people to bettwe their lives. Motivating and inspiring people with his music, teaching financial freedom to those still stuck in that circle of violence he hustled his way out of.

It is unfair to judge people based on their past mistakes. A man is made, not just by the good he has done in life, but the bad things too. You think Ike has not learned his lesson from that arrest?

If we decide that we will not give people chances because they have done some bad things when they were younger, then, many people castigating Ike on this thread will be stuck in their past failures.

[s]I agree that safarigirl is intelligent, although she has a very unpopular way of showing it. There is certainly a lot she has to learn about how to interact with people and how to pass her views across without seeming spiteful and resentful, but I don't think that she is "well versed." She's only versed in sports, lifestyle, entertainment, celebrity culture and a bit of current affairs, particularly in the socio-cultural domain. This doesn't merit being well-versed. Besides being informed in the aforementioned, if you aren't informed about local and international politics, world history (and all it subsumes including anthropology, religion and art), philosophy, literature, world geography, finance and economics, then you haven't even began the journey of being a well informed person. When you've checked all these boxes, then there is S.T.E.M to conquer. Only then can you call yourself a well informed person.

There was a time she boasted narcissistically to me of knowing everything there was to know about everything, and then in response I asked her a simple question to test how informed she was of literature; a field many teenagers where I live are "well-versed in," and she couldn't respond. There were many ways she would have responded to that question that would have at least indicated that she was someone who had read a few proper literary fictional materials. Apparently she wasn't.

We should be careful about the way we adulate people and the kind of praises we heap on them. If we tell someone who isn't good at something that she is good at that thing, she'll become complacent and self-satisfied. And we all know that these things are the enemies of growth.[/s]
