See this old man talking garbage here. He's just ranting that Buhari is a general..and so f**king what? Is this a military regime? In case GMB doesn't know, he owes Nigerians an explexplanation for his certificate not those lies and forgery he's doing. And as for OBJ, Jonathan completed his Ph.D program. His thesis is at the post-graduate complex in Uniport boldly framed and isolated from the rest. The management of the school has even attested that GEJ completed his program there. So, to hell with OBJ and GMB. PS: GEJ will sweep the polls come February. |

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) General Muhammadu Buhari, cancelled his planned trip to the United States of America over fear of arrest on human rights charges, according to The Trent. The Trent also reports that the former military Head of State was scheduled to attend a programme organised by the United States-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, CSIS, on Monday, January 26, 2015, but cancelled at the last minute over fears that his past may catch up with him. Buhari has human rights charges hunting him over post-election violence which claimed many lives, including NYSC members, after the 2011 general elections which he contested and failed. There have been legal proceedings against the retired army general for him to face trial at the International Criminal Court over his role in inciting violence following his defeat at the polls against President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011. As a result of General Buhari’s cancelled trip, the event, which was centered on the future of Nigeria as the pivotal national election approaches, has been canceled. The organisation also invited the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan as speaker. Both frontrunners in the February 14 elections were to speak on Nigeria’s future and share their perspectives on the elections. In an earlier inquiry, the organisation had said the APC presidential candidate was invited to its Washington headquarters “to give a major public address on Nigeria’s future as it stands on the edge of a pivotal national election.” The CSIS Director of African Programme, Jennifer Cooke, confirming the cancellation of the event said it was due to “a change in his (Buhari) schedule.” She said: “First, I want to make you aware that, because of a change in his schedule, Gen Buhari will not be travelling to the United States, and the event on Monday has been cancelled. “The CSIS Africa Program issued almost identical invitations to both leading political candidates (President Jonathan and Gen. Buhari) to share their perspectives on Nigeria’s forthcoming elections and Nigeria’s future more broadly.” “There is considerable interest among U.S. policymakers and the Nigerian Diaspora community in the February 14 elections, and an interest in hearing from both candidates first hand their thoughts on how best to ensure that the elections will be free, fair, credible, and peaceful. “The Africa Program has no position on which candidate should or will be successful.” General Buhari is participating in the Nigerian presidential elections for the fourth time after losing three times previously; In 2003 to President Obasanjo, 2007 to President Yar’Adua, and 2011 to President Jonathan. http://www.ekekeee.com/revealed-buhari-cance/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos State and leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, once described General Muhammadu Buhari as an agent of destabilization, ethnic bigot and religious fanatic who if given the chance would ensure the disintegration of the country, according to a Wikileaks transcript of a conversation between Tinubu and the US consul-general in 2003. Tinubu disclosed this to the United States spy posing as the consul general – in a 2003 conversation- that Buhari should not be trusted due to his bigot tendencies. He pointed to Buhari’s tribalistic nature as potentially dangerous to the unity of Nigeria. In Tinubu’s summation, he stated: ‘Buhari and his ilk are agents of destabilization who would be far worse than Obasanjo.’ The conversation was recorded by the US Consul General and wired back to Washington DC for analysis. Of which, Wikileaks got a hold of the recorded transcripts and published the conversation. Section 6 (C) reads “Turning to the presidential contest, Tinubu disclosed that he does not like President Obasanjo because he contributed to the end of democracy in Nigeria during his tenure as a military president and is now benefiting from that history. That said, Tinubu admitted that he and his party, the Alliance for Democracy, must support Obasanjo. Southwest Nigeria is Yoruba land and the President is Yoruba. Tinubu’s party had no choice since it has not fielded a presidential candidate. Moreover, Obasanjo is the only candidate who stands a chance of blocking his rival, General Muhammadu Buhari, whose ethnocentrism would jeopardize Nigeria’s national unity. Buhari and his ilk are agents of destabilization who would be far worse than Obasanjo. Tinubu and many other governors are therefore implementing a strategy to re-elect Obasanjo, partly in an effort to prevent Sharia from spreading. Tinubu predicted that the President will follow his own course, if re-elected, since he will not need as many friends the second time around.” However, barely 11 years after, Tinubu and Buhari have forged an alliance to upstage the PDP government. The curious marriage between both men has got many tongues wagging. While some see the new Tinubu-Buhari liaison as a marriage of convenience just to undo the PDP, others expressed suspicion at the intent of Tinubu to sell Buhari to Nigerians this time round, barely one decade after he dismissed the leadership credentials of the former military dictator. During his reign as Head of State, Buhari introduced a notorious decree to restrict press freedom, under which two journalists were jailed. He ruled with iron fist and was unable to reflate a sagging economy. His attempts to rebalance public finances by curbing imports led to the closure of businesses and many job losses. The economy took a downturn as prices of goods rose, while living standards fell, leading to a palace coup by Gen Ibrahim Babangida on 27 August 1985. http://www.politicaleconomistng.com/tinubu-calls-buhari-agent-of-destabilization/

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has shelved a scheduled visit to the United States to discuss the forthcoming elections, ostensibly because of a hectic campaign itinerary at home. There had been widespread insinuations in the local media that Buhari was heading to the US on medical grounds. The United States-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, CSIS, which invited Buhari to its programme scheduled for Monday, told Premium Times in an email exchange that the event has now been called off at Buhari’s instance. The organisation’s Director of African Programme, Jennifer Cooke, told the online news platform that the cancellation of the event was due to “a change in his (Buhari) schedule.” “First, I want to make you aware that, because of a change in his schedule, Gen Buhari will not be travelling to the United States, and the event on Monday has been cancelled,” she said. Cooke added that “the CSIS Africa Program issued almost identical invitations to both leading political candidates (President Jonathan and Gen. Buhari) to share their perspectives on Nigeria’s forthcoming elections and Nigeria’s future more broadly. There is considerable interest among U.S. policymakers and the Nigerian Diaspora community in the February 14 elections, and an interest in hearing from both candidates first hand their thoughts on how best to ensure that the elections will be free, fair, credible, and peaceful”. The Independent National Electoral Commission on Friday announced that it had recovered a total of 983 Permanent Voter Cards, which were snatched during the distribution exercise in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State last year. The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Mike Igini, said this during a stakeholders forum held at the National Orientation Agency office in Benin, the state capital. The event was attended by representatives of security agencies, civil society organisations, NOA and the National Youth Service Corps, while leaders of the various political parties signed a pact for violence-free elections. Igini explained that recovered cards were among the 3,661 PVCs stolen in the 18 polling units in the local government, explaining that the commission took delivery of the cards after he received “anonymous calls” about their return. He said, “I received anonymous calls saying that they were going to return those permanent voters cards. As I speak to you, as of yesterday, we have received a total of 617 from Orhionmwon Local Government Area. That is good news.” A total of 4,658 PVCs were stolen by suspected hoodlums during the distribution exercise in nine local government areas of the state, including Etsako West and Ovia North East, where 997 PVCs went missing. Igini said while 661 cards were recovered from Urhonigbe North, 322 cards were retrieved from Urhonigbe South polling units. He called for the return of the remaining stolen PVCs in order to enable the owner to vote for the candidates of their choice during the February polls. The REC noted that the commission was also set to receive 1,426 PVCs from inter and intra state transfers, adding that the process of distributing the PVCs for persons, who took part in the Continuous Voter Registration would commence as soon as the the cards arrived next week. Igini added that 1,046,960 PVcs had been distributed. He, however, stressed that the challenge facing the commission was not the collection of the PVCs but how to mobilise the over one million eligible voters in Edo to participate in the polls. He expressed displeasure that non of the political parties in the state had registered their agents with the commission since they were notified a year ago. The REC explained that a total of 1,861 card readers had been received for the elections in the state and assured the parties that the application of the cards would ensure that only accredited voters were allowed to vote. http://www.punchng.com/news/inec-recovers-983-stolen-pvcs-in-edo/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter |

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, on Thursday, declared January 30th, as the closing date for registration in this year’s examination. A statement signed by the spokesperson of JAMB, Fabian Benjamin and made available to NAN, in Lagos noted that over 1.4 million candidates had registered for the first ever all- computer mode of examination. Thus, the Board advised candidates intending to register for the 2015 Computer Based Test, CBT, to do so immediately. JAMB said the advice became necessary because the applications would close on January 30. It said the sale of forms for the examination had commenced since September, 2014. “The 2015 UTME application closes on Friday, 30th January, 2015 and all candidates desirous of sitting for the examination are advised to immediately obtain the application documents at the designated banks,” Mr. Benjamin said. “This is to ensure that they get registered and avoid being left out. In view of the above, the board has completed all processes and preparations and has put in place all logistics needed to conduct a hitch-free examination.” It said that no fewer than 400 centres would be used for the examination in Nigeria and abroad. According to the statement, members of other examination bodies in Africa and beyond have indicated interest to understudy the board’s CBT during the examination. The statement further noted that, this development was an indication of the confidence of the international community in the board’s ability as manifested in the two previous exercises in 2013 and 2014. Candidates were also urged to be conscious of the fact that the 2015 UTME was only on the CBT mode. “Candidates are to disregard any contrary information as the examination is scheduled to hold beginning March 4th 2015,” he said. The statement further advised candidates to shun all acts that were contrary to the conduct of an examination of international standard like the board’s CBT. It warned that the board would not hesitate to impose severe sanction on any candidate found wanting. “For the avoidance of doubt, the board wishes to state that any candidate who registered twice will have his or her result cancelled,” it said. “JAMB has a mechanism that detects double registration, irrespective of how it is disguised. The board has also made adequate arrangements to ensure that blind candidates sit for the 2015 UTME as well, using CBT.” http://newswirengr.com/2015/01/23/jamb-registration-closes-january-30th/# |
Dannyset:Which part of this revelation is unbelievable? Isn't it obvious that GMB is a dictator due to his military upbringing? I just pity you and other of his followers because if he wins ( which will never happen), by the time he starts acting out, you all will be crying fowl and then I'm gonna be sitting here sipping my champagne and smiling. GEJ TILL GMB PASSES MATHS. |
I knew it that nothing good could come out of APC. Calumny and deceit as usual. |
@Op leave that talk joor. Crowds at campaign has more to do with financial mobilizing and nothing else. Even if Abacha was to contest again, as long as he would disburse funds for campaign, you'll definitely find a mammoth crowd. Therefore GMB's crowd doesn't necessarily mean he's won GEJ. #GEJ TILL GMB PASSES MATHS. |
Whoa! This ain't good news at all. I guess the days of $1 to #1 is gone forever. Chai! Diaris god oo |
Oh so his seat number was 002 no wonder he failed mathematics because he was sitting in the front and couldn't copy. GEJ TILL 2019 |
The former lawmaker, who is currently Chief of Staff to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, reacted to the development via a Facebook post on Friday. He wrote: “The presidential invasion of the National Assembly, which was unscrupulously executed by its pursuivant Inspector General of Police, had all the trappings of an Entebbe raid and executive rascality which is deservable of an acidic excoriation and corrosive pummeling”. Mr. Obahiagbon added that “The impeachment gambit is however, a frankeinstous yoyo with a potency for an erebus prone whirligig”. As expected, the statement is generating a lot of buzz on the former rep member’s Facebook page with hundreds of comments and likes. |
egift:What baseless statement are you uttering? Can you compare the money alone that was stolen by Abacha with what has been looted in this present administration? Or have you forget how OBJ was milking the country dry? Have you forgotten the level of corruption displayed by OBJ, Abacha, Babangida, etc how that they awarded oil blocks to friends, family, associates, etc whom they pleased? Pls don't ever think of comparing the level of corruption then with now. Concerning the killings presently, are you unaware that its proudly supported and sponsored by the "enemies of the transformation administration"? #GEJ TILL 2019.. |

Firstly What's the source of this news? Secondly, if they try anything like that, then I think Prof. Chinua Achebe's book " THERE WAS A COUNTRY" would be referring to Nigeria because this country would be a past tense. |
The president’s wife, Patience Jonathan, on Thursday added one more Honorary Doctorate degree to her gallery after a South Korean University honoured her. It is Mrs. Jonathan’s fourth doctorate since becoming Nigeria’s First Lady. The awarding institution, Hansei University, said they honoured Mrs. Jonathan because ''she had worked hard for many good causes.” “She’s a humanitarian who has dedicated her life to working for the less privileged in Nigeria and Africa especially for women and children. President and Chancellor of Hansei University, Sung-Hae Kim said. ”Her vision as the defender of the poor in Nigeria fits into Hansei University’s motto of a practising Christian. Now she’s part of our community,” Prof. Kim added. The university also said it chose her for the degree because of her dedication to prayer. ”I was surprised that she travelled here for the Church Growth International conference years back to pray for Nigeria. For her selfless work, Hansei University confers this degree on her,”Yonggi Cho, co-founder of the Hansei University. “I was just doing my own thing not knowing that in far away Asia everything was being noted. I want to assure you all that with God’s help I will do more,” Mrs. Jonathan said, thanking the Koreans. ”My grandma used to say: `Whatever little you have, share; If you have a thousand and you can’t share, you won’t share a million if you have’. The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the ceremony was attended by wives of the governors of Benue and Ebonyi, wives of the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff, among other dignitaries. - http://gistreel.com/2013/10/12/patience-jonathan-honoured-with-doctorate-degree-in-south-korea/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

LONDON - Charles Taylor, the former Liberian president sentenced to 50 years in prison for crimes against humanity, will serve his jail term in Britain, the U.K. government said on Thursday. Taylor, 64, was charged with murder, rape, conscripting child soldiers and sexual slavery during intertwined wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone. However, the court found him guilty of only some of the charges. He is the first head of state to be sent to prison by an international court since Nazi leaders were sentenced at Nuremberg after World War II. Last month, the Special Court for Sierra Leone, based in The Hague, upheld his conviction for using the proceeds of 'blood diamonds' mined in the conflict zone to finance rebels who raped, murdered and mutilated their way across Liberia's northern neighbor during its 11-year civil war. The tribunal found Taylor guilty of aiding and abetting war crimes and crimes against humanity by supporting notoriously brutal rebels in return for "blood diamonds." "The conviction of Charles Taylor is a landmark moment for international justice," British justice minister Jeremy Wright wrote in a statement to parliament. http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/10/20896730-ex-liberia-leader-charles-taylor-to-serve-war-crime-sentence-in-british-jail |
There are indications that the Federal Government may seek the intervention of past Presidents/Heads of States, Governors, traditional rulers and serving Senators to mediate in its current face-off with the Academic Staff Union of Universities. The supervisory Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, said this on Wednesday in Abuja during a palliative meeting with the President of Nigeria Union of Teachers, Michael Olukoya; and Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu. Olukoya had suggested that following the inability of the committees earlier set up to settle the crisis, the Federal Government should seek the intervention of past presidents, governors, traditional rulers and serving senators. He also said that the NUT still stood by its threat to solidarise with ASUU over the university teachers’ demands unless directed otherwise by the union’s National Executive Council. Olukoya said, “With the way this strike has lingered on for three months, we believe government should explore all modalities to end it. Government should invite past heads of states, speakers, senators, Ministers of Labour and Education and every other stakeholder in the sector to resolve this ugly situation. “Call powerful voices like traditional leaders to intervene in this strike because our concern as teachers is that as these undergraduates stay at home, they are prone to negative vices and in turn these are the same people that would lead the society in future.” Wike said government was looking at the suggestion by NUT. He said, “We have met to dialogue on the way forward to the crisis in the education sector. The meeting went very well and it was very cordial with respect to the crisis between ASUU and Federal Government. “We have put our heads together and we have taken all the ideas, both the one we suggested and the one NUT suggested and we are going to move it forward. The suggestions by NUT were quite good and the ones we suggested were also quite good and we have put them together. Just watch out what is going to happen very soon.” The Minister was however evasive on when the strike would be called off. http://iamteemoni.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=150:ASUU-fg-may-involve-shagari-obasanjo-in-negotiation&catid=88:news&Itemid=647 |
