Maxxim: I turned 30 this year, and the number of people asking about my partner and kids is overwhelming! It seems like something about this age triggers these questions, no one asked me before now. I just respond as if I have a partner and kids, and people treat me differently . So true. It hits differently. Like it's a cultural thing, people will start asking about your wife and kids from such age and I was thrown aback. Worst for me is, if I had taken the decision to not get married, I wouldn't have bothered. But i was lacking the right partner, so I was stuck. So if you are getting to 30+ expect Nigerians to start asking you about family and kids. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: 'A Recipe For Igniting West Asia': Palestinians React To Trump’s Gaza Plan by Dreamhans1: 1:52pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
FreeStuffsNG: Abu Mazen Nassar echoed this sentiment, fearing the US-Israeli plan is a “trick” to force Palestinian resistance factions to release the captives and no peace in return.
It was so obvious and confirm exactly what the Columbian President said. " President Trump and United States are complicit in the genocide in Gaza " and should be prosecuted by I.C.C. President Trump and Biden will one day be reported to I.C.C on this matter.
It's so embarrassing watching how they still think like imperialists who sit down in a room with coffee and determine the lives and times of a nation while the Palestinians were shut out. Chai! They think the rest of the world is in their own evil bubble? That show of shame media briefing was repulsive and full of hubris and insults the world watching US-Israel think the rest of the world is dumb. Hell No! The world is not dumb!
It is no brainer that thePalestinians, after almost 100k of its people, mostly children, babies and women were martyred in the US-Isreal genocide in Gaza will never accept anything less than full self-determination and independence.
The 'hell' Trump promised came yet hostages are still in Gaza, USA-Isreal expensive war machines have not defeated Hamas, in spite of the billions Trump and US spent to commit the genocide and the world has recognized Palestine. Trump and Netanyahu have lost it completely. If you are not winning you are losing!
Nothing will resolve this issue without a fair resolution of the matter and it's only a neutral body that can mediate. US is complicit and cannot mediate fairly.
All the rest of the world want is a free Palestine like free South Africa and all the hostages freed while a truly independent Palestine stands. A US that supported apartheid in South Africa until the world defeated it will be defeated again. Lol I thought you were shouting for them to be given Jerusalem, now you just wish they will allowed to exist. People that don't want others to exist |

Gerrard59: - Train technology - Manufacturing technology. Almost every major to small factory owner in Nigeria sources their equipment from China. The Chinese train Nigerians on how to operate these machines. If some Nigerians don't know how to operate them or innovate based on what they have learnt, that is their fault, not the Chinese. - Mining technology. This is a new area, especially as factories to process raw mines are newly built or being built. Again, our people have to learn. The Chinese are teaching. It is on us to learn. Say no to feeding bottle mentality.
"Human rights" is a subjective phrase and largely cultural. The rights a human has in the UAE differ from those in China. Does it mean the Emiratis don't respect "human rights"? I will rather focus on the rule of law than human rights. This claim that China has a bad human right record, whereas it has NEVER INVADED any country, is laughable.
Big big grammar. No one stops you from doing the same.
The bold is a lie! A bare-faced lie! The Chinese have never compelled any African country to do as they (Chinese) want. It is an agreement-based relationship. I scratch your back, you scratch mine. Our problem is not scratching as hard as the Chinese do. In Indonesia, they mandated Chinese investors to open factories to process the mined materials; they obeyed. In Zimbabwe, they did the same, the Chinese agreed. To date, neither the British nor the Americans have invested in a mine or factory there. China has never Libyaed any African country for refusing its investment. Every African country has the right to decline or reject Chinese investments, and nothing will happen to its president.
The United States is monitoring social media posts during visa applications. And yes, if you criticise China too much, why do you insist on entering the same country? Why not stay back in your lovey-dovey country since China is bad bad bad, eh? Stay in your country and stop disturbing the people you criticise.
Nigerians are not Japanese. Nigeria is not as homogeneous as Japan or China. Not going to happen.
I am not saying we should trust blindly. Trust but verify. I am saying we should trade on equal terms. The Chinese, so far, are the only major power to offer that to Africans. Germany or Japan should have been the ones spearheading train developments across Africa, but none is interested. Our factory owners should have been purchasing equipment from Germany, Italy or USA, but they are too expensive and they are not willing to share technology. Malaysia is willing to sell us improved oil palm varieties. Brazil is willing to trade. India is there too. No one is a saint, but we shouldn't do siddon-look and fold our arms waiting for saints.
Anyone who does not like Chinese investments and technology is free to look elsewhere. Nothing will happen to that person. It is a free world. Operating trains and building factories is not technology transfer. And so you know, nobody in the history of the world has ever done technology transfer. Even Russia might gift North Korea some propulsion systems, but will never teach them how to build those systems. As for human rights, Chinese have a notorious record of locking Nigerians in their factory, forcing them to work for unbearable hours and still pay them peanut. You are just shouting mining mining. As if you can point to one mining, refining, processing complex the Chinese have in Nigeria. They only steal, bribe instigate conflict so they can mine)buy mined produce under the table. If Nigeria don't look towards development within, it will never have a fair trade with any world power. Either east or west. If you can point out at least 5 examples of trade arrangements between a 3rd world country and a 1st country that have been fair and just, then I'll welcome your China parroting. And if you can't, please don't bother responding cause, you've defeated any point you are trying to make. You will just be reeling out emotions Nigeria should do like chairman Mao that closed shops and develop from within, so it can challenge the status quo. Anything short of this, will be like Africans being the sexiest producers of cocoa but still have others fixing price for them. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Anti-chinese Anger Erupts In Violence In Angolan Capital by Dreamhans1: 5:36pm On Sep 21, 2025 |
Gerrard59: I have thought out of something based on the above: Nigerians who move to non-English speaking countries and are prepared to assimilate in the language and culture have higher chances at financial success compared to their contemporaries (with the same education/environmental background) in Anglophone countries. The theory is that the competition is low since it is non-Anglophone, but also, the possibilities of becoming that success story are high because such a person is not abundant. This depends on the country's economy and the available opportunities. This means Nigerians in Angola have higher chances of excelling, provided they learn Portuguese and take massive advantage of the opportunities there. Again, because it is non-Anglophone, the competition is low compared to, say, South Africa. Another example is Ivory Coast vs Ghana.
In a world of instant clicks and social media, one way to prevent envy is to be quiet while succeeding. Make an insane amount of money and no one knows you are making such because it is non-Anglophone. You can have all their women to yourself, and no one would know. You become a king in another man's land!
Colonial mentality: in that they are used to seeing Whites as leaders/superiors and thus, they believe that Whites are superior to say their fellow Blacks. However, when faced with a Black person as a superior, especially one who is not of the same ethnic group as they are, they become upset and believe that they (Angolans in this case) can perform the same task, which is untrue because if they could, why didn't they rise to the top?
This mainly exists in groups that are at the back of the foot in human development, so when they see someone with the same skin colour but of a different ethnicity or nationality leading them in their land, they are not happy. In a way, it reminds them of their incompetence, so to mask it, they would rather have someone from a different racial group. This happens in Nigeria as well. But I won't digress. There is also the phenomenon where someone from a racial group, say Black, becomes the superior in a country with few Black people. This can happen in Asian countries, and it is a reason one would be hard pressed to find a Black person leading an organisation in an Asian country because the natives believe they are superior to Blacks. This has happened to a prominent Black journalist who was posted to represent the newspaper in Japan. The Japanese boss, according to the Black journalist, was upset that the American media company sent a Black man rather than a White man. This happened during the late '90s. Heck, even African Americans do raise eyebrows when Black Africans, especially Nigerians, are their superiors rather than a White person.
This has played out in Hong Kong and Singapore versus Mainland China, where the former were wealthier than the latter and felt like the superior Chinese. However, as Mainland China became affluent and more powerful, HKers and Singaporeans got upset either at the behaviours of Mainland Chinese (nouveau rich vs old money sort of thing) or the perceived pride and dominance of Mainland Chinese. Hong Kongers adjusted quickly, largely due to geography, rather than Chinese Singaporeans, but the latter have had to eventually adjust as their economy is linked to Mainland China. This culminated in Singapore granting visa free access to Mainland China, which is uncommon for such a populous country. To date, Japan has refused to do the same, nor has Singapore done the same for India, even though it has a native Indian population.
This has also happened in Barbados and the greater Caribbean, where the natives serve White tourists better than Black tourists, even though the Black person is willing to spend more. The truth is that these Caribbean people have been so used to serving and seeing White people, so they accord greater respect to them compared to Black people. So, they would be antsy when they see a Black person who is not of their kith become their boss or lead them.
As for Angolans, what I am curious about is their reaction if they have a Black Brazilian or Black Ecuadorian, or African American as a superior? I am also surprised that they are upset at Black South Africans, who ordinarily should dominate that part of the continent, just as we dominate West Africa and Kenyans do theirs at East Africa.
An open eye Nigerian can make a kill in such a society, but for safety purposes, the person has to be discreet and play along. Live a simple life while amassing so much money. Nigeria hardens people naturally, so where else in Africa can be tougher? Another thing is that our various ethnic groups are divergent in this hustle mindset, as we have groups with the above characteristics in Nigeria. But because we are together in the country, some have to adapt or kpeme. Those nations do not have such in abundance as we do.
In their defence, Angola had a civil war for almost 30 years, almost a generation. Some states in Nigeria had not tasted oil wealth, but when they did, there were remarkable changes. So, the blame is on Angolan elites for not utilising their wealth for greater purposes. Inserting the fact that you've fairly travelled, you shouldn't be advocating for plenty Chinese investments in Nigeria. You talked about technological transfer, can you point 5 areas where Nigeria have gained through technological transfer from China. China have a bad human right record. China is applying the constrictor tactics, pincer movement, supply chain control. China encourage bad leadership in Africa. As a matter of fact, if you criticism China too much, you are made to apologize whenever you step foot in China. I feel Nigeria should imbibe the spirit of the meji era in Japan. We shouldn't make the same mistake our ancestors made in trusting the west. |

But we have people like you that's so engaged in hate and tribalism without any form of critical thinking. Politics › Re: Quit deed claims thief Wike used to transfer Florida properties - Sowore (Pix) by Dreamhans1: 2:00pm On Sep 21, 2025 |
seunmsg: This quit claim deed has nothing to do with Wike. The property in question belongs to Wike’s wife and this deed was done since 2021 before Wike became FCT Minister. The wife is a judge and I’m sure she can explain how she bought the house in question in 2010.
Again, this deed is a Public record and nothing done in secret. In 2022, the Pandora Papers revealed that Peter Obi laundered billions of dollars and kept them in the name of his under age daughter in British tax haven. Peter Obi did not declare the assets he’s hiding in Asset declaration. That to me is a bigger issue than this witch-hunt effort to link a property owned by Wike’s wife since 2010 to Wike’s term as FCT minister. I'm very sure that your folks are in poverty but you deem it fit to defend jailers of a politicians. |

Can you masturbate in front of your parents or siblings or your Wife freely
Whatever that is done in the dark or even conceived in the dark lacks the Spirit of light which is the Spirit of goodness ...
The devil can easily possess or manipulate your stars of destiny through masturbation because you are using his nature to achieve it even if you are a good person..
And you know devil, if your stars happened to be great, lols , forget it , you are in for a big dragging and uselessness...
Note it please.....if your greatness is to be rich and a philanthropist, it won't come to pass
If your greatness is to be a speaker of truth, helping people , reviving lost souls, forget it , is gone until you wake up....
So while you might be prospering in wealth as that's not the first target of devil, believe me, that purpose that made manifest in heaven that your birth can be an evidence will never come to pass..... can you have sex in front of your parent? Lol I'm a masturbator and I'm successful. ( At least I own 2 building with the third under construction) so all your idol talk, please direct it to your religious fans. Benefits of masturbation; it saved me from load and loads of infectious disease Helped with my self control Helped me not to break too many hearts. Helped with prostrate. Why I'm not an addict? Originalsly: If you understand what is an addiction you'll understand why they smoke d spite knowing the danger ...and even suffering from the effects. I'm almost sure you masturbate ... I'm almost sure you know it is not good for you ... but you still do. Why? .. that's addiction for you.
Like some said before ..the tobacco itself is not addictive ... it's the nicotine. The cigarette companies know this and inject addictive amounts into the cigarette. These was a lawsuit in the US against Big Tobacco...cigarette manufacturers.itnwas filed by the FG and they won. Part of the decision was basically outlawing any form of advertising or encouragement for others. If we notice....in the US ..no smoking on TV shows...no smoking by actors in movies ...in buildings...no bill boards etc. Cigarette companies target the young ...get them to smoke early...they be hooked for a life time. Same path Big Pharma is on.... Loading babies with vaccines .... hooking them for a lifetime. If addicted to cigarettes...they offer "the patch" ...like a bandaid .That is packed with nicotine which enters the blood via the skin....and the nicotine addiction goes on. Who's fooling who? New York doesn't have a cigarette addiction problem among the youths. It's rare to see a youth smoking a cigarette. They introduced a heavy tax on cigarettes and keep raising it every year. Cigarette is pretty much unaffordable......s14 and change for the cheapest pack ...20 sticks. Lagos should impose same....make cigarette unaffordable. How is masturbation bad? bishopjohn: Let me take some of you on a little history lesson.
A long time ago, the land was the ancient kingdoms of Israel and Judah, with Jerusalem as their heart. Over centuries they were conquered by powerful empires, first the Babylonians, then Persians, then Greeks, and finally the Romans. Some Jews stayed, others were exiled, but the connection to the land never disappeared.
When the Romans crushed a Jewish revolt in 135 CE, they renamed the land “Syria Palaestina” to erase its Jewish roots. That was actually the first time the land started being called Palestine, remember it was Isreal and Judah in the first place.
From there, the land changed hands many times. The Byzantine Empire ruled for a while, then Arab Muslim armies conquered it in the 600s. Slowly, the people living there became mostly Arabic speaking and Muslim, though Jewish and Christian communities never left completely.
In the 1500s the Ottoman Empire took over and ruled for about 400 years. By the 1800s, the land was mostly Arab, Muslims and Christians, with small Jewish communities in cities like Jerusalem and Hebron.
After World War I, the Ottomans collapsed and Britain took over Palestine. Britain had already promised in 1917 through the Balfour Declaration to support a Jewish homeland there. Jewish immigration rose, especially as persecution grew in Europe and later with Hilter showing them pepper (Holocaust). Arabs resisted this, fearing they would lose their land but the Jews in exiled also stated it was their land too.
In 1947, the United Nations tried to solve the problem by splitting the land into two states, one Jewish (55%) and one Arab (45%), with Jerusalem kept international. The Jews accepted. The Arabs rejected. But the map came with a lot of flaws with no specific border, including notes on defense, farmland, ports, but focused on where the Jews and Arab lived at that moment.
In 1948, Israel declared independence. Arab countries invaded, Israel survived, and even expanded beyond the 55% given to them: Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled or were expelled in what they call the Nakba, meaning the catastrophe. The West Bank was taken by Jordan, Gaza by Egypt.
Then in 1967, Israel fought Egypt, Jordan, and Syria in the Six Day War and captured the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, Sinai, and the Golan Heights. That war made Israel an occupier of more lands than it was given to them, and since then the conflict has never really ended.
So, the land has carried many names and rulers, Israel, Judea, Palestine, but the heart of the problem is the same. Two peoples, both with deep roots and identity tied to the same land, unable to fully share it.

Chinese have built trains to transport containers from the north central to Lagos ports (first of its kind). Chinese are building factories in Kastina state. Chinese are building factories in Ogun state. Chinese are in Abia and Ebonyi building factories.
