Last year (2024) October I retrofitted a 2016 Toyota Hilux with a 100L type 2 CNG tank. being a little curious I wanted to see how far I can travel on the vehicle given the fact that it's a 4-cylinder engine and also it's equipped with a 100L type 2 tank... anyways I was disappointed with the range because for a 4 cylinder vehicle like the toyota Hilux.. the truck is not fuel efficient at all.. although I was able to travel from Ibafor to Ibadan and then back to Ikeja on 180 bar of gas which is not bad at all and from what I calculated the vehicle will be able to do about 250km of highway driving on 100L(25scm) of CNG.

here's the full video documenting all the journey.

My friend drives from Ajah to Mushin to do a refill. He swears with his life that the gas lasts longer than the Mobil CNG stations in Ajah or Apapa. I see that you have the same line of thought.

Nice video 👍
Yeah it's because the CNG station in Mushin has a High pressure than other stations

Story. I wont advice anyone to tamper and modify sensitive engine parts all in the name of cng. A factory setting is the best on earth. Cng is a ticking time bomb. Hardly have we heard of or seen petrol engines explode all from no where.shut the fuc k up. Ole

Not advisable.
Avoid cng
If your car is not hybrid
Electrical
Avoid cng or get barbecued while you are in traffic.
Barbecued? Bros how about you do small research about CNG first before you just believe random rumours?

After retrofitting my friends car with CNG due to the exorbitant amount of money he was paying on petrol, I decided to drive it to Ibadan and back to see how much range the vehicle can cover. It took me just 2 days to retrofit the vehicle.

The vehicle specifications are as follows:

Toyota Camry 2013 SE V6 2gr-fe engine
The car was retrofitted with a 90L type 2 CNG tank... Which can take approximately 22.5scm of Gas from complete empty to full on 250bar of Gas.

I was able to travel to and fro from Mushin Lagos to Ibadan and Back to the same spot in Mushin where I had left from, the total cost of Gas was ₦4,600 and AC was on for the whole journey..
