ogiboy:Hello, Sorry about that. I wrote an article that can be of help with future dogs: https://drgbaksthevet./2017/01/29/coversations-with-dr-gbaks/ Have a read, I believe it will be of tremendous help. Take care. |
Derrickdogboy:Hello, I'll appreciate it if you don't derail this thread by posting advertisements here. I'm sure there are other suitable threads for that. Thank You. |
tblackE61:Hello, Your questions require more history from your part. Kindly send me a mail at drgbaksthevet@gmail.com and I'll reply you as soon as I can. Thank You. |
okikiosibodu:Hi, Thank you so so much. This means a lot to me. Amen and amen. |
caspervenice:Hello, Thanks for reading. With respect sir, it's only a magician that can tell you what's wrong with your dog this way. You need to visit a vet and have your dog properly examined and diagnosed. Kindly let me know how it goes. I wish your puppy quick recovery. Cheers! |
Spoiler Alert: If you hate heart-warming stories; have no intention of laughing out loud or you are simply not in a mood to feel good and learn a few things, then go no further. If not, then get ready to fall in love with dogs (all over again or for the first time, as the case may be) Babasoji Awe is the quintessential dog lover and his interview is so amazing. As usual here is the link: https://drgbaksthevet./2017/07/26/cynophiles-corner-one-on-one-with-barr-awe/ Enjoy!

JoinMarco:Hi, Sincere apologies for this late response. From my experience, dog ear wounds can be frustrating to deal with. This is because it takes forever to heal ( that's if it does). So I know where you are. The reason your dog keeps scratching the wound is because it's healing. Unfortunatley, this act inhibits the healing process and opens up the scab that has aleardy been formed leaving a fresh wound in its wake. My recommendation is that you get a fly repellent plus healing oil and spray several times a day to keep the flies away and aid wound healing. Also, (if you are successful and your dog doesn't tear it off the first day), get an Elizabethan Collar and keep it on your dog for the duration of the wound healing. This will prevent your dog from being able to reach his ears. Hope this helps. Cheers. |
ademoladeji:Hello, Sincere apologies for this late late reply. I did promise to get back to you and didn't. I'm pretty sure this case should be resolved by now but for the benefit of any who might be in a similar position, I'll give my opinion and advice. I believe one reason JJ hardly eats the booster is probably the way you introduced it-suddenly. New food must be gradually introduced to a puppy. First by mixing the new food with the old one in varying proportions before eventually serving only the new. Also, it could be that JJ simply doesn't like the food. Just like we humans, dogs have food preferences too. Shedding hair is a natural phenomenon with many breeds of dogs. It's a way of getting rid of old fur for new fur to grow. Excessive shedding could also be a sign of worm infestation and that would mean having your dog examined by a vet. JJ must be a big boy now ![]() Hope this helps, however late it comes. Thank you. |

Awolowo86:Hello, Thank you for stopping by. It's always heartwarming to hear from my readers. The dog looks like a mix of Caucasian Shepherd and the German Shepherd breeds. It's quite hard to tell if the parents aren't known. Cheers. |

I absolutely enjoyed interviewing Mr. Godwin. Such sincere responses. My favourite part has got to be the lessons he has drawn from having, loving and keeping dogs. Can you relate? Oh! You haven't read the interview yet? Click on the link below: https://drgbaksthevet./2017/06/24/cynophiles-corner-one-on-one-with-mr-godwin-zibiri/ Happy Weekend!

Over the past months, I have received many requests to share my vet school experiences. This week, we begin with the things I hated. https://drgbaksthevet./2017/05/20/10-things-i-hated-about-vet-school-part-1/

10 BREEDERS; 1 QUESTION It's safe to say that the cynophile community is growing larger by the day in Nigeria. {I also regularly get a number of emails requesting guidance in purchasing a new puppy}. Consequently, this means that more Nigerian breeders spring up by the minute. Is this a good thing?...
