I haven't understood the marketing gimmick behind Tobacco products like they cigarette, same people urging you to buy will also warn you of the danger. You will even see some scary graphic pictures on the pack of cigarette brands yet they forecast huge sales at the end of the period. Now just recently I read of a Cigarette brand lunching a new brand of cigarettes to help people gradually withraw from smoking Lol. If this isn't reverse psychology what else can it be? |

guobe: Exactly bro.its absolutely madness to exchange 1 dollar for 1,600 naira. Nigerians don't get it. Our leaders know exactly what to do to drop the FX drastically. Ghana's economy and GDP is not even 1/3 of Nigeria's. Our industrial progression and presence is more. The issue with Nigeria is "Stealing Leaders" its easier to still in dollars when the FX is high. We know our problem. |

If immigration officer reject 10m and iphone then look well, he is past that level; Looks aside. Most Civil servants and public workers look broke but when you get to get into their circle then you will be disappointed. Don't take my comment one sided though, two things are actually involved here. The first illustration I mentioned or fear of being caught may have motivated the gesture. Modified: I didn't read before making my comment. Having read after commenting the officer said its blood money because he knew the Idi*t and murderer. But I didn't delete my comment because of stories of alleged bribery and smuggling in the country. FG and authorities need to do something about it so my initial stance will be changed. |

This isn't news to thank FG for. Its a necessity and responsibility of the government and the school its not innovation or intervention. Making noise over minor achievements is petty to the eyes of a proper government. |

Everything is failing.
Systems are breaking down.
The country is running more on debt and still broke.
Insecurity is on the surge.
Things ought to improve whereas for Nigeria its the reverse. Can there ever be a turn around from all this mess or should the citizen keep migrating to a better country to get their basic needs met. |

Politics › Re: NPF: What Nigerian Police Earn Compared To U.S. Officers –prepare To Be Shocked by Dronedude(m): 12:49pm On May 28, 2025 |
NOETHNICITY: Please excuse my grammatical mistakes . I’ll go straight to the point
A senior officer around the rank of CSP (DPO) get around 3.9m annually. This figure translates to about $USD2400 per annum!
Normally only the above stated fact is enough to trigger a national revolt instantly in saner climes.
But let’s not stop there, let’s look at what police officers earn abroad and compare to what our police officers earn.
In the United States Police officers salaries vary significantly across states, often reflecting the cost of living and local budget allocations
California for example pay their police officers at entry level $115.000/per annum. This figure translates to around #184.000.000 million Naira per annum. Ref: https://www.joinsfpd.com/entry-level-program https://careers.sf.gov/classifications/?classCode=Q002
While their officers that have put in around 15years (same number of years required for a CSP/DPO) earn a base salary ranging between $120.000-160.000 translating to #192.000.000-#256.000.000 per annum
Police officers of this rank in Nigeria earn around $200/monthly (#320.000)
(This makes me feel sick) While a US officer earns around $9000/monthly and above translating to a minimum of about #15.000.000 per month. (Let this sink in)
Even after adjusting for the cost of living: California is considered expensive, but a police officer’s income still offers a strong middle to upper-middle-class life.
In Nigeria, ₦325,000/month is barely sufficient, especially for officers managing operational risks and family responsibilities.
Also, it is important to note that the above quoted salary for a California police officer does not include pay for: 1, overtime duty—$15000 2, Vacation leave pay and 3, Sick leave—$3000 4, Longevity pay (5%)—$7000 5, Education—$6000 6, Uniform—$1500 7, Special assignments—$8000
Total Estimated Annual Compensation when added to Base Salary amounts to $180,000 – $200,000+ (#288,000,000–#320,000,000)
Let’s look at the social benefits a police officer enjoys in Nigeria: Almost non.
As far I know they enjoy only health insurance benefits that most FG workers enjoy which is nothing to write home about.
As far as I understand, the Nigerian police is positioned to be a failure by FG.
You can defer to the below for reference purposes https://careers.sf.gov/classifications/?classCode=Q002 Oya go and get the job. Since you are comparing Nigeria with America. |
