Mr.AK97, with all sincerity, that's rather childish. By your response, you feel Drbraniac has written you off or you feel he looks down on you. See, everyone's got better things to bother about than mocking people. He was only giving his opinion. His opinion about the feasibility of your cause isn't the hallmark of opinions, ok. You don't always have to go daggers about a mere comment.

Now, the cut-off mark for Dentistry at Ibadan last year is 70. You had 247. 247/8= 30.875.

70-30.875= 39.125

39.125 X 2= 78.25 (Minimum score you need to have in the post utme)

Although you should aim to get more than that.

I wish you the very best.
Thank you sir for this.

AK97:
OK thanks, you will celebrate with me
Amen!!! It is not that I have written you off or want to discourage you. No! What will I gain by doing that? If you think you can score 78+ in putme, then you are good to go. Gaining admission these days is not about having high score but being well informed and making the right decision. My naivety and not well informed cost me my admission in 2017.

AK97:
Please is 248 good for UI dentistry
I don't think that score is feasible for dentistry in UI. You can change to a less competitive course. Just a piece of advice though.

Someone should please help, am a fresh graduate of Ekiti State University, I studied Plant Science and Biotechnology with a CGPA of 3.70(second class upper), please do I have a good chance to take a direct entry into medicine and Surgery?

And which University can you recommend for me?
Since Plant Science and Biotechnology is a biological science course, you stand a chance to apply for medicine and surgery via direct entry.

You can try UI. UI admits DE students into medicine without considering where they graduate from once they come out with first class or 2.1. I know of some people who got admitted last year through direct entry.

You can also try UNN. It is easy to study medicine and surgery in UNN through direct entry than through UTME.

Nevertheless I will advise that you should apply for both DE and UTME at the same time to increase your chances of getting admitted to medicine.

Hope you apply for DE this year?

P.S: I know it is not easy to get first class in EKSU. Congratulations on your grade.

Why Medicine or Dentistry? It should be either of them, neither is in any way inferior to the other, ok. What was your UTME score?
Are you on whatsapp? I have some things to ask from you.

Any advice for me?
EducationRe: The medical students and aspirants thread by DrOptimistic: 1:12pm On May 18, 2019
horpeyemmi66:
There's definitely a chance, albeit steep. With your present score you would have needed to score 84 in the post utme to beat last year's cut-off mark.

Your target this year should be 86 or 87.

I wish you the very best.
What about BUK or Unical? Which one among the two will you advise for me? I don't want to waste that jamb score this year.

BUK, ATBU, FUD. The attachment below is a cropped screenshot of the cut-off mark which makes one eligible to write FUD's postutme.

*Federal University, Dutse.
Thanks. But I am thinking of UI or I don't have chance there?

Drop your phone number. I'll add you to last year's group and make you an admin. We'd continue from there
My thoughts was that WhatsApp group will be created for 2019 UI aspirants, hence no need of joining the the previous year own.

All the same, hope the group is active sha?

I think there is a NL thread for 2019 aspirants, and perhaps a group is existing already.
I know that there is a NL thread for 2019 aspirants but it is not every time I have the opportunity to come to Nairaland and besides, I think WhatsApp is a better way of disseminating information.

I don't think a WhatsApp group for UI 2019 Aspirants exist.
EducationRe: UI 2018/2019 Admission Thread by DrOptimistic: 12:14am On Apr 27, 2019
I will suggest that a WhatsApp group should be created for we that are UI aspirants for 2019. Where useful and vital information about UI post utme, admission updates, issues relating to UI will be addressed and discussed. I will need the seniors to create a WhatsApp group for the 2019 UI Aspirants, as you know that information is something that is very important in seeking admission. Though you are already UI Students, please help we the aspirants. Don't leave us with it alone and guide us through and I pray that as you are providing help to aspirants of UI every year, God will interfere in your matters, academically, socially, financially, morally.
