As AnEsThAsiA has rightly stated, one simply cannot cross in between two professional courses. If you get in for Medicine, you'd stick to it till the very end. This same thing applies to Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy(although in a different Faculty) and Physiotherapy.

Now, again, you can cross from Physiology, especially, to Medicine...closest dude to Medicine. Physiology can also cross to Physiotherapy, Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science. Biochemistry has an upper hand at crossing to Pharmacy due to a similarity in the courses offered in 100L(although they cross to Medicine too). They, in most instances have to get their HOD to let them go, the man doesn't always feel obliged to let them go.

For Physiology to cross to Medicine or Dentistry, they don't have to add any other courses to what they'd be registering for the session. As the only courses which differ in what Medicine and Physiology guys do in 100L is Botany.

If one is looking to cross from Physiology to Physiotherapy(most stressful course in the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan), then they'd have to add courses like Statistics and Sociology when registering.

If one is looking to cross from Physiology to Pharmacy, then they'd have to add Mathematics to the courses they'd be registering for the session.

If one is looking to cross from Physiology to Medical Laboratory Science, then one has to add Mathematics as well.

If one is looking to cross from Physiology to Nursing, then one has to add Sociology to the courses they'd be registering for the session.

*All interdepartmental crosses have to be done on transit to 200L, beyond which the only things that may apply are deferrment(not beyond a session), withdrawal and voluntary withdrawal inter alia.

*Crossing from medical Laboratory Science to Physiology and vice versa is very possible.

*University of Ibadan doesn't give a Bachelor's degree in Human Anatomy, hence its absence in the above discourse. (Postgraduate Studies are however available)

*University of Ibadan doesn't give a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacology, hence its absence in the above discourse. (Postgraduate studies are however available)

*Crossing depends largely on general performance and a post determined crossing CGPA.

Disclaimer: All of the claims above are subject to change or could have changed as at the time of writing this post. Kindly find out through and through.
Thanks very much for this.

I don't think state universities used to make their departmental cut off marks known to the public...... And besides, why don't you want to study medicine and surgery in a federal university? Most federal universities are accredited for mbbs by mdcn.... If you are afraid of not meeting cut off mark, you can try northern federal universities or state universities that are accredited for mbbs....#my opinion tho

# Power is measured in Watts in the laboratory but it is measured in Horsepower in the industry. One Horsepower equals 0.746 Kilowatts.

# An hectare is the unit for measuring an area of land. One hectare equals 10000square meters.

# The reading accuracy of a metre rule is 1mm or 0.1 cm. The reading accuracy of Vernier callipers is 0.01cm.Micrometer Screw Gauge has its reading accuracy as 0.001cm.

# Mass is measured with a beam balance or a chemical balance while weight is measured with a spring balance.

# In calculating relative motion, if the two bodies in consideration are moving in the same direction, you SUBTRACT their velocities, but if they are moving in opposite directions, you ADD their velocities.

# LAWS OF FRICTION.
> Friction opposes motion.
> Friction is directly proportional to reaction force or normal reaction.
> Friction is independent on the surface area in contact.
> It is dependent on the nature of the surfaces in contact (i.e. whether rough or smooth)
> Friction is independent of the magnitude of relative motion between the two surfaces.

# IN CIRCULAR MOTION
> Angular displacement,(theta) = 2π x n(number of revolutions)
> Linear displacement, S = (theta) x r (distance traveled from one position to another in the circular path)
> Angular speed/velocity(W) = angular displacement (theta) over time taken.
> Linear velocity = Linear displacement (S) over time taken.
> Angular acceleration = angular velocity over time taken.

# Centripetal Force = mv²/r = mw²r.

# Centrifugal Force is the opposite of centripetal force.

# Work = Force x Displacement = mass x height x acceleration due to gravity.

# Energy is the capacity or ability to do work.

# Potential Energy = mgh.

# Kinetic Energy = ½mv².

# Area expansivity = 2 x Linear expansivity.

# Volume expansivity = 3 x Linear expansivity.

# The real (or absolute) cubic expansivity of a liquid is the increase in volume per unit volume per degree rise in temperature WHILE The apparent cubic expansivity of a liquid is the increase in volume per unit volume per degree rise in temperature WHEN THE LIQUID IS HEATED IN AN EXPANSIBLE VESSEL.

# Most liquids expand when heated and contract when cooled. Water is an exception because it contracts on cooling from any temperature until at 4°C when it starts to expand if cooled below this temperature. Thus, water expands(rather than contract) when cooled from 4°C to 0°C. Hence, a given mass of water has its least volume (and therefore its highest density) at 4°C. This is known as the anomalous expansion of water which can be verified using the Hope’s experiment.

# Radiation can be detected by a radiometer or a thermopile.

# A black material or surface is both a better radiator and absorber of heat than a polished surface.

# The three modes of heat transfer are brought into good application in the Thermos flask. It has a double-walled glass vessel with a vacuum between the walls. The vacuum reduces heat lost or gain by conduction or convection. The double walls of the glass vessel are silvered on the vacuum side to minimize the loss or gain of radiant heat. The bottom of the flask rests on a cork support and the mouth of the flask is also closed by a cork stopper which is a poor conductor hence reducing heat loss or gain by conduction, evaporation and convection if the flask contains hot liquid.

Quick Revision Tips in CHEMISTRY

ORGANIC CHEMISTRY

# This is the study of compounds of carbon occurring naturally,--excluding the oxides of carbon and trioxocarbonate(IV) compounds, which are classified as inorganic compounds.

# Catenation is the ability of carbon to form single, double and triple covalent bonds between its own atoms.

# Isomerism is the existence of two or more compounds (known as isomers ) with the same molecular formula but different molecular structures.

# Organic compounds are divided into Hydrocarbons and Non-Hydrocarbons .

# Hydrocarbons contain carbon and hydrogen only. They are further divided into Aliphatic(acyclic and cyclic) and Aromatic compounds.

# Non-Hydrocarbons are derived from the corresponding hydrocarbons by replacing one or more hydrogen atoms with atoms of the halogens(Cl,F,Br, and I) or groups of atoms such as -OH, -CO2H, -NH2 and -CN. These groups are called heteroatoms . A heteroatom is an atom or groups of atoms other than carbon and hydrogen.
Non-hydrocarbons can be acidic, basic or neutral .

# Alkanes also known as the paraffins hybridise to give SP³ hybrid orbitals

# Alkenes also known as the Olefins hybridise to give SP² hybrid orbitals

# Alkynes also traditionally known as acetylenes hybridise to give SP hybrid orbitals.

# A homologous series is a family of organic compounds which follows a regular structural pattern in which each successive member differs in its molecular formula by a -CH2 - group or in its relative molecular mass by 14 units.
Members of a homologous series have a General Molecular Formula . The Physical Properties of the members change gradually as the number ot carbon atoms per molecule increases. Members of a homologous series show similar chemical properties and they have general methods of preparation.

# Alkyl groups are derived from the alkanes by the loss of a hydrogen atom.It can be represented by the symbol R.

# A Functional group is an atom,a radical(group of atoms) or a bond common to a homologous series, and which determines the main chemical properties of the series.

# The functional group determines the basic chemistry of a compound, while the alkyl group affects the physical properties of a compound.

Hello friends, My bosses and staunch UI aspirants here, I greet you all...

You guys are really doing a great job here!.... Kudos to all!...I salute afoobabs for this wonderful initiative...

I'm sorry that I couldn't start earlier with you ,.. I had been soooooo busy....

One of the greatest code of conduct for UI students and aspirants is Generosity and Love for one another.

I have met great men and women on this platform and they have really influenced my life positively.

I will not fail to contribute the little I can to ensure that ALL SERIOUS ASPIRANTS here gets nothing less than 300+ in JAMB 2019 and at least 70+ in the forthcoming UI PostUTME!

It is easier than you think!... Believe me!

I rose from 215 in JAMB 2017 to 303 in 2018.I once scored 53 in UI POSTUTME but I came back stronger hitting a score of 74 in the same UI.

The above scores are enough to get you admission in many courses in UI....except the very competitive ones like medicine where you need to score like 305-320 and 77-85 in UI POSTUTME to get admitted going by last years' cut off mark for medicine which is 76.5 .
Mind you ,the cutoff marks vary every year depending on students performance. It can be as low as 71 or as high as 80 for medicine.

I was able to blast jamb and UI PostUTME after many failures when
1 : I changed my mindset
2 : I bought better textbooks
3 : I also got a good teacher though only in chemistry and physics.
4 : I studied not less than 8 hours everyday.
5 : Very importantly, I prayed to my God.

I recommend these textbooks for Jamb students and UI aspirants here because I used them and they helped me.
