Why do you have 30 months on your I20 instead of 24months?
Me: Well the school gave me that, I think i will be doing a 6 months OPT

I think the Community school issue and also the fact that you mentioned 'I THINK' which means you are not sure and also mentioning 'OPT' personally i feel it indicates that you intend extending your stay. They expect you to return immediately after Ūя̲̅ completion of studies. Y dont you giv it anoda shot if that fails then check out anoda school. Also post Ūя̲̅ brodaz experience. Good luck bro.

@imperiouxx,  It came as a huge pleasant surprise to me. I think a scanned copy was sent to my school from wes, cos the email address of the records dept is on the transcript n i guess they replied immediatly

That's very unlike WES cos wen D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ sent my transcript for verification, they sent me a mail specifically saying 'photocopy'. And when after a while i contacted some1 in my school and they received it exactly 2 weeks after the mail was sent.

Yeah the house is alive, majority of us awaits admission decision. One of the schools I applied to won't be notifying applicants until April 1, that's really far

Guy, April 1st aint far. We gonna be in march in jus a couple of days. No fear I-20 is coming. Good luck to all of us waiting and hoping.

That waz really fast contrary to what I have heard. I heard approximately 2months. My status is still 'waiting for verification from institution'.Its actually respective schools that actually stretch the period since many Nigerian schools delay to reply when WES sends your documents for verification. My fingers are still crossed.

@supzyy tats good. Approx how long has this taken? cos am still on mine.

how are u doing everyone am new to here i am 18 years i went to abuja in september  but my visa was refuse by one tall white man canter 6 so now i have defer my admissin  am going for undergraduate for spring pls i willl like to know what are question i should be expecting because i didn't prepare before going to abuja so pls now my appointment is  lagos i look forward to hear from you soon thanks

Av been reading this thread right from the begining. Its so informative and gives a really good picture of student life in the US especially for those of us still salivating for F-1. Now we this informations we will know how to plan before we hop on the plane. Thanks all the contributors. Am looking forward to getting to the other side and talk about my own experiences too.

Is tis Ūя̲̅ best choice school? If it is go ahead. If not maybe yu should just chill a little and hope you get acceptance from your best choice. If its taking 2 long then i think you should storm the embassy with the I-20 you have.

Official guide to GRE revised general test. I also have an older edition of barron's and kaplan so am tryna study barrons word list.

Am gonna register for the GRE maybe in march.Yea its cheaper if you apply yourself cos i applied myself for TOEFL and it waz way cheaper.

@kaycome am applying 4 graduate. I am also doing WES basic cos its cheaper but actually on the long term ICAP is better. I dont intented to apply to any school that requires transcript evaluation. I included the school i want to receive the evaluation in my order.

@kaycome, i think you should upgrade your order. you can add an additional recipient which should be d school you intend going. its $30 for each additional recipient. why didn't you do d WES-ICAP?

@ kaycome did yu select the schools you wanted 2 receive your evaluation? If not yu will have to pay to send the reports.

At last i got a mail in my box that wes have completed my evaulation.

B2 visa, try F-1 na. Heard the chances of B2 is very slim especially for young people cos of family, economic and social ties. Yea some young people get lucky. But you really need to show strong proof that you are not an intending immigrant.

Ur gpa is really good, anoda trick is to explain about Ūя̲̅ poor gre score n Ūя̲̅ SOP but dont dwell 2 much on it. Get strong recommendation letters. Am sure yu wil get in,

^^^^I applied to more that one school (Graduate), no decision yet. Mehn, the waiting is gangstar.


The thing is I'm only applying to top schools I can afford and in the US there's only 1 school lol. I am also applying to LSE in the UK for backup and I might apply to Queen's uni in Canada but not sure if i really want to go to Canada esp Kingston, Ontario where that is. Plus my GRE is crap so my chances are very very slim, just got to be prayerful


Well if yu know Ūя̲̅ GRE is crap, either check for a school that dont require GRE, or check yu may just find a sch whose min GRE is parallel wif urs or beta still take †ђξ GRE again if yu r confident you can do better. And remember GRE is jus 1 criteria, Gpa, recommendation letters, personal statements are other very importabt criterias. If your Gpa is good and you av strong recommendation and SOP, you can still get in especially in a school that is not so competitive. GRE is jus bout 4hours and anythin could av gone wrong.GPA is over 4 years so it gives a betta pix of who you are. Jus do good research am sure you will b fine.

@ sha money prospectiv grad, grad or undergrad its same procedure so tat puts us on the same boat
