CastedDude:
A hospital in Lagos has been accused of negligence after officials allegedly refused to render help to an injured man who was involved in an accident. According to reports, the hospital located in Ajah area of Lagos literally closed their gate as the unconscious brought was brought by people to the hospital.

Veteran actor Segun Arinze who berated the hospital for this, shared the below post on Facebook.

I just witnessed one of the most unimaginable acts by any hospital. I was in a barbing salon having a shave opposite Doreen Hospital Thomas Estate Ajah and we heard crowd noise downstairs we stood to see what was wrong? A Man had an accident and was brought in unconscious.

Doreen Hospital refused to open their door to help rescue the Man in spite of all entreaties. Some of the nurses refused to help they were just watching the Man on the ground. So what happened to coronary law? Treat the Victim or patient first!! And ask questions or ask for payment later? What are hospitals turn to in Nigeria? Has life become valueless in our country?

HealthDoren Specialist Hospital Reacts To Malicious Allegation Made By Segun Arinze by DSHAjiwe(op): 8:18pm On Feb 23, 2018
PRESS RELEASE:

[/b]MALICIOUS, UNSCRUPULOUS & UNVERIFIED ALLEGATION MADE BY SEGUN ARINZE AGAINST DOREN SPECIALIST HOSPITAL AJAH

The attention of our organisation, Doren Specialist Hospital Ajah, has been drawn to the malicious, unscrupulous, and unverified statements and images made by Mr Segun Arinze and shared by him on his social media handle in respect of a man whom he falsely alleged was refused medical attention by our hospital. The facts of the matter are:

1. The said man was rushed to the hospital on 21st February 2018, at about 11 am by a group of people who gave a history that he was electrocuted.

2. A doctor from DOREN Specialist Hospital promptly assess the man and certified him DEAD AT PRESENTATION.

3. The people who brought him were informed that the man was dead and were advised to take the man to a morgue since the hospital does not run mortuary services.

4. The people who brought the dead man rather than take the corpse to the morgue, instead resorted to create a scene and disrupt the operation of the hospital.

Please note that We at DOREN Specialist Hospital as a point of duty, attends to all emergencies as they present and does not put cost as a prerequisite for first aid treatment to be administered.

Having said this, our media team and some concerned [unbiased and truth loving] Nigerians swung into action [on the said day] to address Segun Arinze’s post on his Facebook page and he took it down. Prior to this time, We had engaged him privately to address his post but he turned to say that he is a public figure, we should talk to him on the public post.
Now that he had taken the post down, we are still battling with the ripple effect created by this unverified fake news.

To this effect, we demand that:

1. Segun Arinze should return to the same channel used to spread this fake news and tendered an unreserved apology to the management and staff of the DOREN Specialist Hospital ;
2. That at the same time he should publish his apology in the online media platform and at least two National newspapers
3. That he reaches out to all the social platforms who are within his reach, who had reposted and retweeted his fake news to withdrew their posts and tell the true side of the story.

NOTE:
The photos attached show: (1) When the Body was brought; (2) One of our doctors attending to the man and (3) Reactions after he confirmed him dead and advised the group that brought him on what they should do.
These are contrary to Segun Arinze's false allegation that "Doren Hospital refused to open their doors to help rescue the man in spite of all entreaties".
