I am damn confused right now. i have been a bank contract staff for some years precisely since 2006 till now, by God grace I have been able to do some good things in life through hard work and discipline, i was able to complete my degree program in university of Nigeria, Nsukka. in computer/statistics. i got married with a kid. my confusion and depressiion is that i am not seen any future in the bank that i am working with recently the bank do some conversion from contract staff to permanent staff but they put age restriction of 26yrs of which i was over 30yrs b4 i joined them as contract staff. i am very good in computer hardware and networking and i am thinking seriously of leaving the banking job to start my own work even if na farming or computing , i am just been confused and need a new ray of hope for my life and my little kid. my take home can not really take me home. ur advice is highly welcomed |
It was a supposed journey of four (4) calendar year and Five (5) academic session which started in 2007. It was estimated and expected to end practically, logically and even psychologically in 2011/2012. Truly, it ended practically in 2011/2012 as expected, but in its real logical & psychological sense it’s still lingering in our minds with heavy bother & worry it has come with. We were offered a degree admission in 2007 by the university via distance learning mode of study. Things started well, upon satisfying the admission requirements and conditions. Rigorous academic and non-academic activities begun in earnest. The admission letter given to us actually stated that the program will run for 5 years which is 2007-2012. We wrote our final exam on December 19 2011, though writing of project was on till mid-2012. As expected, our parents, guardians, sponsors and even our employer are waiting for us to show up the noble university degree certificate after completion of the program. As said earlier, academics activities ended in 2011/2012, and since then, nothing to show for it. Our degree result has been suffering blows and setbacks ranging from delay in compilations to senate approval. This deprivation has not only made our parents, guardians, sponsors, most especially our employers doubt the authenticity and genuineness of our claim to have attended university as there's no where in Nigeria a degree program of our course of study take that long irrespective of the mode. It has also left us with psychological trauma, career stagnancy, and majorly depression of having to stay indefinitely to get a result we have seriously laboured for. Some of our employers confirmed that UNN spend just 3 and half years for four(4) years program and release there students result timely. Our integrity is also subject to questioning! We plead to the new administration lead by Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba to please ''RETORE OUR DIGNITY'' take us out of this pained state of our heart. As we were been told our result is simply awaiting senate approval. We congratulate the new V.C and pray his stay will be a memorable and blessed one for him and the entire university community. . |
