Thank you VO for your reply. Very helpful.

Hello dukejason,

You do not need to contact the Embassy. If your mother encounters any secondary questioning at the airport, we encourage her to be honest. After all, visas are valid for two years and a lot can change in that time!

Dear VO:

I commend you highly for this helpful thread. Please keep up the good work. Now to my issue. I am a student studying in the USA and my mum plans to visit me in Jan. 2016. She already has a valid US visa which was issued to her in April 2015. The reason she applied for that visa was her intention to attend my graduation which unfortunately, she could not attend because of work. However, on her DS 160, she stated her destination was Tennessee; my former state of residence but now there is a change of plan as i no longer live in TN but now reside in Virginia where i'm pursuing a higher degree. My question now is, will she encounter any problem at the POE (she plans to come in through washington dulles) if she explains to the CBP officer that she is going to Virginia instead of TN as already mentioned on her DS 160? I wanted to email the US embassy about this sudden change but i do not know if this is appropriate. Keep in mind this is her first travel to the US. I look forward to reading from you. Many thanks.
