But there's something I can't understand: For many years, they told us that we are buying fuel at high prices because we don't have local refineries, meaning they import fuel. Then, they claimed they were subsidising it for us.

So, if this was true, how come the Government is not very happy that someone did what it can't do?

Another one: Why is Government still fixing fuel pump price while telling us that it is market forces that determine prices, and not Dangote? Why should Dangote not have the right to fix the price of his own product but the Government via NNPCL has the right in a supposed free market?

Sources said the pump price of petrol will remain unchanged, despite the introduction of its product into the market. The initial daily allocation is expected to be 25 million litres, delivered through the NNPC Trading Limited at a cost of N765.99 to marketers.

“NNPC Trading Limited will continue to import a shortfall of 15 million litres to meet Nigeria’s daily demand for petrol estimated at 40-50 million litres a day,” a source said.
