Is there a way to keep track of the total data consumed on the MTN FibreX? Airtel has this option on their ODU, but I don't know if the same is obtainable on the MTN FibreX. |

michlins:This sounds like you have never worked in environments where products are just released without involving internal stakeholders. You wake up to certain behaviours within the system, only for you to inquire and find out that the product guys have launched another product that you don't even know how it works yet. You now have to start working on getting to understand its operations while it's already in the production phase, which creates more risk. There is something called knowledge sharing within workspaces. When a product is newly launched, and even old products, there should be sessions assigned to create a robust understanding of these products, because you as a staff member, you can never get the understanding needed to support the business or customers from the outside in, but rather from the inside out. |
Does the MTN FibreX have a fair usage policy? |
Mykcool:Are you for real? I have only heard of Airtel ODU🤔 And that thing frustrated me😫 |
Tiemitidayo:I have one of these on a pole that's 2 buildings away from mine. The installation technicians checked it, confirmed that it was powered, but that it doesn't belong to MTN. The reason why I attached the image of that box-shaped thing is because that was what the engineers were working on when they told me they were installing MTN FibreX infrastructure in my area, and then they went on to say that it would be powered same day. I checked the MTN app after that, and my street that was previously not listed as a FibreX coverage area was now listed. But after my encounter and complaints, they have gone ahead to delist my street on the app. |
My experience with MTN FibreX. In January 2026 I saw the Fibre cable in my area and was happy that I finally have it right outside my gate. I enquired and found out that Sabi Networks owned the FAT close to my home, but an engineer claimed it belonged to MTN and eventually defrauded me of 20k. I got connected to a salesperson who assisted me with making the payment. An installation technician came around and confirmed that my street was not powered. Fast forward to March, and I saw a team of technicians working on a box-shaped device (images attached) right outside my gate. When asked, they said they were working for MTN and that they had come to fix some errors and power up the MTN FibreX setup in my street that same day. So, this month April 2026, I checked the MTN app and boom, my street was listed. I made a payment for the installation of the FibreX device in my home but the technicians could not onboard me because my area was not powered, and there were no FATs belonging to MTN in my street. The FATs found on my street belonged to another internet service provider. My question is this, why list my street on the App if it's not powered? What kind of frustration is this. And it's not like payments are reversed in 24 hours, yet they keep misleading Nigerians into paying for a service they will never receive.

NSEstudent:Of course it does. |
Good morning everyone, My Airtel ODU has been showing “No internet, secured” for over a week now. What's the most effective way of lodging complaints. E saanu mi o |
lilclin:This has to be done specifically in any of their offices and not road side, right? And what about using a sim from an Airtel mifi device that I have at home? Would that work? |
Hullabaloon:What model is your ODU? And how long has it been since the switch from esim to physical sim? |
morikee:When you say you are using a different sim and that you have subbed on the esim for 2months, are you implying that the esim can be active while I get an ODU-compatible physical sim card for use in the ODU device without deactivating the esim? Abeg, explain🤲 |
korban3134:Co-ask. |
Unfaized:I think the Starlink mini is 400k with a subscription. What are the advantages of the standard over the mini. |
gambus007:I also have my funds with them for a similar reason. I thought the cables in front of my house belonged to MTN, but they are not. So, I was told to wait for a time when they will come and install it in my area, because the streets on the other side of the road are all powered already. For now, I am on Airtel ODU |
oyekanwahab:How can I achieve this, please? |
NSEstudent:Abeg, make e v no happen o ![]() I just wan understand how una dey interpret all the jargon wey full the device interface |
lilclin:Is this the part you meant?
|
Unfaized:I understand you ![]() But this thing go better pass make MTN dey charge 24k on top 1 to 3 mbps ![]() Meanwhile, I go come back with updates daily |
I received my ODU device this evening and I got these results on speedtest.net I believe we are going to do just fine.
|
Osyxcel:I found it. Thanks |
dukeo:Not available on app store |
Tover:Is impossible to change your password? Why not just change the password and push everyone out. |
NSEstudent:How can someone now tell me that God is not wonderful ![]() |
zanjorrg:Exactly sir… it makes no financial sense to me. Instead, I have been testing Airtel speed in a marked spot in my house where I can mount the Airtel ODU, while I await MTN FibreX to come to my street, because it's available on the street adjacent to mine. My speed test results summary from fast.com and anspeedtest.net are in the snapshot attached
|
NSEstudent:Now I get your point. So you mean you can remove the sim and then insert it in a phone or it has to a mifi device? |
NSEstudent:Wahala🤣 Why did you have to change it in your case? Did the new location deliver stronger signal? |
lilclin:Many thanks sir |
Hello People of NL, I am planning to place an order for the ODU by next week, but I am skeptical about its reliability as a result of many negative reviews. In my compound, different locations give different speeds. Outside the gate give about 200mbps, while within the compound it drops to about 40mbps, and inside my flat it way less. However, I discovered a spot behind by kitchen giving me the rate you see in the snapshot below. I hope the engineers will be willing to mount the ODU behind my kitchen or do they have strict rules around that? Thank you

michlins:It can be painful. Just found out that the one I shared as seen in front of my house belongs to SABI Networks, and not MTN. I spoke with someone who recently got connected to the infrastructure that I shared the image earlier. The person made me understand that it was Sabi Networks. Then I took my time to research them online and called their office for more info Installation Cost = N60,000 Subscription rates: 20mbps = N17,500 25mbps = N25,000 30mbps = N30,000 They offer half the speed that MTN offers at same amount of N25,000. Plus the one-time installation fee of N60,000. Not so encouraging |
