1. What is Drainage Clearance
Drainage clearance is the certification that confirms that a property or estate is not on/within drainage right of way i.e. the property is not within the government drainage alignment setback by satisfying that:

a. it is not within wetland
b. it is not within the 10m setback for concrete lined drains mostly secondary Drains
c. it is not within the 15m setback for earth channels i.e. Primary Drains

2. What does it take to get one
a. Apply for Drainage Clearance by sending an application letter addressed to The Commissioner of Lagos State Ministry of the Environment
b. Make Payment fee of N20,000.00 Twenty Thousand Naira Application Fees, if your property is within Wetland, you will be penalised based on the the total area of coverage on the wetland
c. There will be physical inspecton of site in company of engineers and surveyors from the office of drainage services.
d. Application is granted based a charge will be paid base on approvable area of land.
