Politics / Nigeria Now Official Islamist Country by dwest1975(m): 7:11pm On Dec 16, 2015 |
Hope For Nigeria Nigeria Now Official Islamist Country, Joins Islamic Military Alliance. Te Federal Republic of Nigeria is now officially an Islamic country. According to report from OIC, the outstanding dues that Obasanjo to Jonathan's administrations refused to pay have been paid up in full. Early this week, the Saudi Arabia government formed a coalition of 34 mainly Muslim countries - including powers such as Egypt and Turkey - to coordinate a fight against "terrorist organisations". The alliance was announced by Mohammed bin Salman, the country's defence minister and deputy crown prince, on Tuesday. Arab countries such as Qatar and the UAE will join the coalition, as well as Middle Eastern, Asian and African states including Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia and Nigeria. Saudi Arabia's regional rival Iran and its allies Syria and Iraq were excluded from the alliance, despite the states sharing a common enemy in the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group. Bin Salman said the states would work together to target "any terrorist organisation, not just ISIL" in countries including Iraq, Syria. Libya, Egypt, and Afghanistan. Military operations would work in accordance with local laws and in cooperation with the international community, he added. In an earlier press statement issued by the Saudi Press Agency, officials said the group would be led by Saudi Arabia, which would host a "joint operations centre to coordinate" efforts. - Hope For Nigeria . Hope For Nigeria B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G News!!! Iran Warns Nigeria Govt Over Crackdown On Shiites. The Iranian government has called on Nigerian authorities to respect Shiites people, religious figures and sites. The Islamist State made this remark following last Saturday’s violent clash between the Nigerian Army and members of the Muslim sect, Shiite, in Zaria, Kaduna State. “Nigeria is now dealing with problems arising from extremism and Takfiri terrorism and we hope that in these conditions preservation of calm and national unity in battling terrorism is prioritized while rash and unconstructive measures are avoided,” IRNA quoted Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber-Ansari as saying on Sunday. Jaber-Ansari expressed sorrow over the recent bloody clashes, which broke out between Muslim worshipers and government troops, Weekend. Nigerian forces raided the home of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and arrested him after reportedly killing several of those protecting him including one of the group’s senior leaders, its spokesman, son and wife. Since El-Zakzaky was arrested by the Nigerian troops, his fate has remained unknown. However, since Saturday’s violent clash, there has been war of words between the Nigerian Army and the sect, over who instigated the clash that led to the dead of members of the movement.

Sports / Emmanuel Adebayo Topgolese Player Open Up On His Controversial Family Issues. by dwest1975(m): 8:07am On May 07, 2015 |
Emmanuel Adebayor Togolese player opens up on his controversial family issues The striker who his frosty relationship with his mum has been documented took to his Facebook account to open up about the controversies in his family. Tottenham and Togolese footballer, Emmanuel Adebayor has opened on his complicated and controversial family issues which have made him struggle in his career in recent months. The former Arsenal striker has on several times been given permission by his club to fly to Togo to attend to some unspecified family business. Several reports have also emerged about the relationship with his mum and siblings who have accused him of being disrespectful and abandoning them. The 31-year-old on Tuesday, May 5 took to his Facebook to open up about his dealings with his family starting up by revealing the extent he had gone to help them out. "At the age of 17, with my first wages as a footballer, I built a house for my family and made sure they are safe. As you all know, I have received the trophy of African Player of the Year in 2008. I also brought my mother on stage with me to thank her for everything. In that same year, I brought her to London for various medical check ups," Adebayor said in the post. "l also gave my mother a great amount of money to start a business of cookies and different items. Naturally, I allowed them to put my name and picture on them so they can sell more. What else can a son do in his power to support his family?" Adebayor asked. He opened up on how he bought a house in Ghana and allowed his sister to stay, only to return to the house to discover that his sister had rented out the home. The striker went on to outline how he had tried to help his sister, brother and other family members who were all after his wealth. "My brother Kola Adebayor, has now been in Germany for 25 years. He travelled back home about 4 times, at my expense. I fully cover the cost of his children's education. When I was in Monaco, he came to me and asked for money to start a business. Only God knows how much I gave him. Where is that business today? , part of Adebayor's statement read. "When I was in Monaco I thought it would be good to have a family of footballers. So I made sure my brother Rotimi gets into a football academy in France. Within a few months; out of 27 players, he stole 21 phones. "My sister Lucia Adebayor keeps telling people that my dad told me to bring her to Europe. But what would be the purpose to bring her to Europe ? Everyone is here for a reason. "I organized a meeting in 2005 to solve our family issues. When I asked them about their opinion, they said I should build each family member a house and give each of them a monthly wage. "Today I am still alive and they have already shared all my goods, just in case I die. "For all these reasons, it took very long for me to set up my foundation in Africa. Every time I try to help the people in need, they had to question me and all of them thought it was a bad idea. "If I am writing this, the main purpose is not to expose my family members. I just want other African families to learn from this. Thank you," Adebayor concluded.

Romance / Things Girls Do That Guys Hate... by dwest1975(m): 7:29am On May 07, 2015 |
Many times ladies go into a relationship without knowing how to deal with their man. Most times it takes enough sweat and tears before they know what guys dislike. Read this and make your dating experience enjoyable. 1. Your guy hates it when you flirt with other guys and not him. Whether they admit it or not, every guy has a tendency to be jealous. 2. Your guy does not like you hanging around when he wants to have some time alone. Believe me that is not the time to pull your “sexy babe” stunts. 3. When you share personal stuff about your relationship with other people, it turns them off. 4. Most guys go ballistic when their woman tries to change them. That is a selfish move. You can never change a man, you can only make him better. 5. If you always are around him, monitoring his whereabouts you will never gain his respect. Give him space. 6. When you do not understand the things they love or hold dear. 7. A girl that proves to know too much is a straight turn-off. |

A new study by a team of archaeologists that has been researching the subject, has found a site dating back 13,800 years, now underwater in the Juan Perez Sound off British Columbia in Canada. The underwater area they examined was once dry land, inhabited by the Haida people. The Haida have an old flood tale on Frederick Island that tells of how the peoples became dispersed in the New World. Frederick Island is a different site than the one recently studied. The team, led by archaeologist Quentin Mackie of the University of Victoria, found the site this past September near the Haida Gwaii Archipelago. They found a fishing weir, a stone channel structure that was probably used to catch salmon, the CBC reports. Haida Gwaii islands as seen from Hecate Strait (Wikimedia Commons) “He's far from certain, but Mackie is hopeful the images show at least one stone weir — a man-made channel used to corral fish. The scan suggests a wall of large stones was placed in a line at a right angle to the stream, a fishing technique used by many other ancient cultures, including those that thrived along B.C's coasts,” the CBC says. Global BC news broadcast on the Haida discovery Mackie says the findings make sense in the context of his research there over the past 20 years. Indian Country Today Media Network says the findings also fit in with tribal oral histories. A Haida story from the book American Indian Myths and Legends by Richard Erdoes and Alfonso Ortiz tells of a great flood that force people to move. An excerpt: … the old people told them to stop laughing at the stranger. At that moment the tide was at low ebb, and the woman sat down at the water’s edge. The tide began to rise, and the water touched her feet. She moved up a little and again sat down. The water rose again, and again she moved back. Now she sat down at the edge of the village. But the tide kept rising; never before had it come so high. The villagers grew frightened and awe- struck. Having no canoes, they did not know how to escape, so they took big logs, tied them together into a raft, and placed their children on it. They packed the raft with dried salmon, halibut and baskets of spring water for drinking. The woman kept sitting on higher and higher ground, and the water kept climbing. Waters covered their island, the Haida story says, and hundreds of survivors were adrift without anchors. By and by the people saw peaks sticking out of the ocean. One of the rafts drifted to a piece of land and its survivors stepped off there, while other rafts were beached elsewhere. It was at that time that the tribes became dispersed. - Based on a tale related by Henry Young in 1947 and repeated by Marius Barbeau in 1953. ‘Spirit of Haida Gwaii’, the Black Canoe, sculpture by Bill Reid in bronze, outside the Canadian Embassy in Washington (Wikimedia Commons) The superintendent of the Gwaii Hanaas park, Ernie Gladstone, told the CBC that people lived in the area for many thousands of years, but much of their ancient territory is under waters of Hecate Strait now. Stories like the one recounted in American Indian Myths and Legends and other collections may be actual history told in semi-metaphor. The book Mythology of the American Nations says the waters and lands where the Haida people lived were so rich with fish and game that they had a social structure more like advanced agricultural societies. They had private property, ranked social classes and a rich history of art. Governments and missionaries made strenuous efforts to assimilate Haida people on the islands and mainland. But the Haida resisted and instead preserved much of their culture and homelands, wrote the authors, David M. Jones and Brian L. Molyneaux. Several months ago, the archaeologists used an unmanned, robotic vehicle to examine under the waters around the islands. The weir is under 400 feet (122 meters) of water. The researchers say the area under water was dry land at sea level 14,000 years ago, from the islands to what is now the British Columbia mainland. The area has been underwater since after the last Ice Age ended and a warming period began about 11,000 years ago. The archaeologists saw other formations on the sea floor that they think may have been camps from around the same time. The oldest artifact ever found previously in Canada came from near the same weir site, in Gwaii Hanaas National Park Preserve from 12,700 years ago. The latest finding therefore constitutes the oldest ever evidence of human habitation in Canada. THINKING ABOUT THIS: Buhari's child Zara is paying over 12million Naira as school fees developing her future and career. Jonathan's children are also abroad for studies and residence while developing their career and living in affluence. Atiku Abubakar's children are abroad schooling. Tinubu's children are abroad schooling and living in affluence, they are all developing and investing in their children to continue to rule us after they are gone. You are there as a jobless graduate wearing APC and PDP customized vest and polo, chanting "Change" holding brooms and carrying umbrellas chanting "Transformation" killing yourself, fomenting trouble and constituting nuisance to the society because of Peanuts that can't make you a better person? Stop being a disgrace to your discipline, stop wearing APC vest and carrying PDP umbrellas because that is the wish of politicians for you. they know if you have a good job, they can't use you as a thug/ 'propagandist'. If Buhari will not bring all his ten children to the street for campaign and Jonathan will not bring his children and blood brothers to the street for campaign, then you are a disgrace to your family if you don't stop masquerading yourself as PDP and APC agents, because up till now, I have never seen Buhari 's children and Jonathan's children on the streets wearing APC vest and holding brooms, neither have I seen Jonathan's children carrying the PDP umbrella even on Social Media let alone in the streets. To whom brain is given, Sense is expected! Just Vote. No violence! And be safe. Spread the news! God bless Nigeria. |
Crime / Lover Suspeted To Have Hired Assassins!!! by dwest1975(m): 12:00am On Mar 27, 2015 |
A jilted lover suspected to have hired assassins to kill her rival is among four suspects who will today appear in court to answer to charges of killing a 28-year-old insurance agency staffer. Keziah Wanjiru, a marketing staffer at St Paul University, was arrested on Saturday by detectives from the Special Crimes Prevention Unit after three men suspected to be hired hit men linked her to Hilda Wanjiru’s murder. Hildah was shot dead in her rented house in Machakos town by gunmen with an AK 47. The gunmen also shot and injured Hildah’s husband Josphat Mwirania on his right hand. On the night Hildah was killed, the three killers arrived in a boda boda and knocked at her door. Hildah opened the door and she was immediately shot twice and and killed. Mwarania, who was also in the house, came out and wrestled with the killers. He was shot once in the right hand as the criminals escaped. Initially, police treated the issues as a normal violent robbery until last Wednesday when informers tipped detectives in Nairobi on the inside story, leading to a manhunt of the killers. Other suspects facing the murder charges are Joseph Mutua, alias Mulami, Charles Njaramba, alias Chalo and Wycliffe Amida, alias Vinny. Machakos CID chief Harun Ndumbi yesterday confirmed Kaziah’s arrest and said the suspects will appear in court for police to seek more time to complete investigations. Mutua told police Keziah had promised to pay them Sh400,000 after they completed the assignment. He said the woman only gave a down payment of Sh10,250. Mutua said Keziah bought for him an Airtile SIM card, which was exclusively used to plan the attack. He said he destroyed the line as soon as their mission was accomplished. Detectives said the murder plan was hatched as early as last November when Keziah learnt her former boyfriend, Mwirania, had travelled to Hildah’s rural home and paid dowry and they had started living together as husband and wife. Police investigations revealed the three worked together at National Bank, Limuru branch. The man secretly dated the two friends until last year when he is said to have dumped Keziah and decided to settle down with Hildah. Detectives say Keziah had twice attempted to separate the two and openly confronted Hildah for snatching her husband. At the time, Hildah had resigned from the bank and worked as a receptionist at an insurance agency in Machakos. Keziah too had left the bank and worked at the university while Mwarania had been transferred to the NBK Meru branch. Days before Hildah was killed, the three hit men allegedly travelled with Keziah to Machakos, where she showed the killers the house in which Mwarania and Hildah lived in. Mutua claimed after they shot Hildah dead, they communicated with Keziah who was delighted to hear the news. He said he called Keziah again after police arrested him to inform her of the arrest. Keziah is said to have told Mutua not to link her with the murder and she would take care of his wife and children if convicted to jail.

Everything I know about SEX. During sex, what bring about excitement to the man is the ability of the vagina to hold the penis tight and give it that sensation at the tip. There are thousands of unseen balls in the vagina that gives it this ability of tightness. These balls continue to burst each time a girl engages herself in sexual intercourse and the more the balls burst, the less elastic the vagina becomes rendering it not being able to hold the penis tightly during sex. A girl who changes guys like the way she changes her pads stands the risk loosing more balls in her vagina. Such girls always have their vagina so loose to the extend that, guys with smaller penis are not able to satisfy them and their partners don't also enjoy them during sex making them to now play ''away matches''. Have you ever asked yourself why most guys are fond of cheating on their partners? The truth is that they don't always get the kind of excitement they need from their partners. I am not supporting cheating, fornication or adultery but my intention is to help you keep yourself for your partner. A girl who tries to abstain is likely to maintain her vagina in good shape for a long time and is also likely to keep her man to herself without cheating setting in. AGREE OR DISAGREE ? |
Politics / Election Will Be Taken Place In Nigeria This Weekend by dwest1975(m): 9:54am On Mar 25, 2015 |
A long-delayed election will be taking place in Nigeria this weekend, as the original date was put off due to security concerns relating to the continued fight against the Boko Haram terrorist group. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress opposition party, who briefly ruled the country in the 1980s after a military coup, will attempt to defeat incumbent Goodluck Jonathan, of the People’s Democratic Party. In recent months, Boko Haram has stepped up its campaign in Nigeria’s northeast, and violence has spread to neighboring countries. Nigeria has the largest economy in Africa and is a major oil producer, so in its most important election since democratic rule was restored in 1999, the world will anxiously await the results. With so much on the line, here’s what Nigerians had to say about the state of their country when we surveyed them in spring 2014: Nigerians detest Boko Haram. Overall, 82% of Nigerians have an unfavorable view of Boko Haram, with 79% holding a very unfavorable view. This distaste is shared by Christians and Muslims alike (Nigeria is about half Christian and half Muslim, according to the Pew- Templeton Global Religious Futures project). About seven-in-ten Nigerians (72%) are worried about Islamic extremism in their country. And when asked to name the world’s greatest danger, a 38% plurality say that religious and ethnic hatred is the top threat. In terms of everyday worries, more than eight-in-ten Nigerians say crime (88%) and corruption (86%) are very big problems in their country. Nigerians are also worried about electricity shortages. Nigerians have less regard for their national government compared with other institutions tested. No wonder an Afrobarometer survey from December 2014 found that 74% of Nigerians say the country is headed in the wrong direction. A majority of Nigerians (66%) say most government officials do not care about what ordinary people think, and Afrobarometer found that 50% are very or somewhat concerned about political intimidation or violence at the polls, up from 34% in 2012. Despite concerns about their government and institutions, Nigerians remain politically engaged. Seven-in-ten Nigerian adults have voted in an election, and many see voting and attending campaign events as effective ways to influence government. To that end, a recent International Foundation for Electoral Systems poll found that 79% of Nigerians were either very (61%) or somewhat (18%) likely to vote in the presidential election. The outcome of the presidential election is considered too close to call, and the potential looms for a violent lead-up to Election Day (and the outside possibility of a runoff). Whoever triumphs, public opinion shows that Nigerians recognize the wide array of problems facing their country and the difficulty the next leader will have in addressing them all.

2015 Elections: Obasanjo Uncovers Plot To Hand Over To Military DON'T WASTE MONEY! Compare best PRICES of phones, fashion, computers & electronics before you shop on www.PricePadi.com FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday warned against any military intervention in the affairs of the country for whatever reason. Reacting to rumour that this Saturday’s presidential election might result in confusion and consequently lead to military take over, Obasanjo said such an action would undermine the integrity of Nigeria among the comity of nations. He spoke when the South-West women of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the wife of the party’s presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Hajia Aisha Buhari, paid him a courtesy visit at his Abeokuta Hilltop residence. Obasanjo, who said he was happy that Nigeria had gone beyond the rumour of Interim National Government (ING) and that he hoped the country would also “survive the rumour of handing over to the military”, said the intentional community, especially the African Union (AU), would not accommodate or recognise any government that emerges outside the constitution of the country. According to him, Nigeria has all it takes to dictate the pace for other countries in Africa, adding that Nigerians should blame themselves for where “it is today.” He said: “I do hope we will get things more right. A lot of rumours are flying around, I think we have gone away from the rumour of interim government because that is not in our Constitution. I hope we will soon go away from the rumour of handing over to the military because the military is not meant to run affairs of a nation in terms of running government.” Obasanjo, who also bemoaned hatred campaigns among the political parties, said they should focus more on what unite the country against what divide the country. According to him, for anyone who is interested in the future of this country, issues of insecurity, economy, employment, among others, should form the focus of the campaigns of political parties.

Politics / Sat Guru Maharaji, Has Advice APC. by dwest1975(m): 12:16am On Mar 25, 2015 |
The Spiritual Leader of One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaji Ji, has advised the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), to forget Nigeria’s presidency. “There is no vacancy for Buhari at Aso Rock,” he declared in a statement on Sunday. According to him, “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is the verifiable divine choice of the forthcoming presidential election. As the Living Perfect Master of creation in whose hands the fate of Nigerian project lies spiritually, I declare divinity’s decision to return Jonathan to Aso Rock over Muhammadu Buhari. “I had publicly and sufficiently advised Buhari against nursing the ambition to rule Nigeria again. Superior forces are actually in-charge of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am at the helm of these great and unseen primordial powers of creation. “My commitment to ensuring that Buhari and his fellow Anglo-American proxies do not deflect Nigeria off its path of gradual transition to authentic sovereignty, sustainable unity and real prosperity is sacrosanct. Nigeria is no longer to be ruled by feudal agents of Western neo-colonial power and Arab imperialists,” Guru added. The spiritual leader called on all lovers of freedom, fairness and human dignity in Nigeria to vote for President Jonathan, saying, “He is an authentic component of Nigeria’s divinely graphed transition to greatness. His return to Aso Rock will further secure Nigeria from being re-enslaved by those who insist they were born to rule.” |

He will remove our load. 1st Scoop: I know what you did and I see beyond your actions to your heart. But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (1 Sam 16:7) 2nd Scoop: I am doing something. I hear your call. I know your desire to change. I am doing something new in you. You can't see it, but trust it. Trust my hand upon you. My work takes time. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Is. 43:19) 3rd Scoop: Don't dwell on the past. The past is the past. I am worried about the present. I am more concerned with what I am doing today. We have somewhere to go and if you are always looking in the rear view mirror, you won't be able to drive anywhere with me. "Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past." (Is. 43:18) 4th Scoop: You don't see what I am doing. You can't see from the beginning to the end, like I can. I am making everything beautiful. Don't get discouraged. Don't get dismayed. It will be beautiful - in my proper timing. "GOD has made everything beautiful for its own time. HE has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of GOD’S work from beginning to end." (Ec. 3:11) 5th Scoop: Every moment I am working a new thing. All the time, I am at work. Nothing is ever left unchanged with me. You mess up and I start working something new again. You desire change and I offer new thing after new thing after new thing. One day, we will celebrate - because a day will come where all my work is unveiled. "Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.” (Is. 42:9) 6th Scoop: Re-new means to make new over and over again. All the time I am making new your mind. This is a process. We are working together, so you don't have to get down. You will fall and I will help you back up to transform your mind- bit by bit - again and again. "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." (Ro. 12:2) 7th Scoop: Don't lose heart. You are growing, changing and transforming. My change is so delicate that you almost can't feel it. It is so loving that it is tender. It is so gentle that it's like the gentle first washing of a newborn. "Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day." (2 Cor. 4:16) I prophesy Scoop-by-scoop the Lord's truth unburies us so that we can stand in front of him not as a cold frozen man/woman who is shamed by their inabilities, but as a man/ woman who is loved, encouraged and empowered to trust God in his process of sanctification. God is at work in us and through us, even if we can't see it. Let's trust his process. Let's rest in his ways. We can, therefore, step out and uncover our hearts to true life change. We don't have to fear the process or the master worker, because his ways are gentle. He will bring us to completion. He will do this - despite how buried we are in the process. "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Phil 1:6) I prophesy God will uncover us where we have been buried in Jesus mighty name amen This prophesy is for me and all I minister to near and far |

#I would have remained in PDP, if I knew my deputy would betray me - Gov. Amaechi# Following the return of the Deputy Governor of Rivers State; Engr. Tele Ikuru to PDP, governor Amaechi has urged members of the APC to remain steadfast. The governor who said that " Though I saw it coming, but I never believed it. Our movement to APC was a collective decision and Tele was even the one who seconded the motion for us to defect to the APC. So is unthinkable that he wld return to the PDP. This whole fight is about you ( APC members ). Not me! I can't be governor again. Like I keep saying, the world is aware of my fight with the President. And so many countries will grant me asylum and the President can't arrest me. So it's about you people. If I knew Tele was going to betray me and make peace with Wike, I wouldn't have left the PDP. I will encourage you to remain steadfast and expect the worst, because some commissioners will soon join him or will remain with us to sabotage our efforts. And how do you go to elections with a divided house and political moles? I'm learning people " --Gov. Amaechi |

THE SECRET I FOUND FROM NORTHERN CHRISTIAN It's indeed today that I confirmed this from a friend of mine who is a christian, with all this troubles and difficulties we're facing in this country under Jonathan administration and we all stand praying for change for the safe of our country but I saw some messages and pictures created by northern christians to campaign secretly for the re-election of Goodluck Jonathan through Whatsup and SMS, when he understood that I have seen it he felt shocked & started telling me he doen't know who sent the messages and pictures in his phone. This really made me upset and frustrated knowing that they're really behind Jonathan 100% in 2015 election becouse he is a christian forgeting that he (Jonathan) never recognise them as christians since they're from north. I'm Calling on northern christians to open their eyes to throw away ethnic and religious sentiments knowing in history that a muslum leader never misrule them like their brother who is now in power. Let vote Buhari to bring back integrity, respect, discipline and overall good governance.

Are they campaigning out of their sense? FFk u said Buhari doen't have school certificate but u refused to take him to court, u said Buhari was sick but he has shown u he is fit and healthy he even continues having town hall meeting across the country, u said Buhari is a corrupt leader but u refused to send EFCC to arrest him or let court to prosecute him over the allegations against him, u said he is bigot while nigerians experience that he associates with christians more than muslums since when he was in army uniform. This means that PDP are afraid of losing this election that's why they're linking APC with all these nonsence to cause disunity and hatred among nigerians and the two religious believers. May God destroys PDP 2 Likes |

FRESH PLOT TO SCUTTLE NIGERIA'S ELECTION: JONATHAN HOLDS SCRET MEETING WITH FORMER VP ATIKU President Goodluck Jonathan paid a secret visit to former Vice President Abubakar Atiku on Friday night to hold a meeting that lasted till the early hours of Saturday. Sources at the Presidency told SaharaReporters that Mr. Jonathan went to Mr. Atiku’s home with the aim of persuading the former VP to lead a so called interim government of national unity that the president has been covertly attempting to sell to numerous political figures in recent weeks. One source said Mr. Jonathan and some hawkish members of his inner circle, including Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, First Lady Patience Jonathan, Governors Olusegun Mimiko and Ayo Fayose of Ondo and Ekiti respectively, as well as senior presidential aide Doyin Okupe, have decided that handing over power to Muhammadu Buhari “is out of the question. ” Several electoral monitoring groups are projecting that Mr. Buhari, a retired army general and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is the odds-on favorite to win the March 28 presidential election. When SaharaReporters reached Mr. Atiku, he expressed surprise that we knew about his meeting with President Jonathan. He asserted that the idea of his heading an interim government did not come up during the long discussion with the president. Mr. Atiku said he had retired to bed when he was woken up and told that President Jonathan had come to see him, adding that the president was already waiting in his living room. After denying that he was asked to head an interim government, the former vice president admitted that Mr. Jonathan tried to prevail on him to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He disclosed that he rejected the invitation outright. According to Mr. Atiku, the president also discussed the ongoing war against Boko Haram insurgents, asking for support for Nigerian troops fighting in the area. He said they also discussed the possibility of displaced Nigerians returning to the areas that have been recaptured from Boko Haram. Asked by our reporter whether he thought President Jonathan was interested in allowing elections to hold on March 28, the former vice president hesitated before stating that he would not wish to speculate, but he said the president’s body language did not reveal that he was interested in the polls that are scheduled to hold in two weeks. The secret meeting between Mr. Jonathan and former VP Atiku has caused unease among some APC stalwarts. A few hours after the meeting, a faction of Mr. Atiku’s original political organization, the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), announced their endorsement of President Jonathan. In his telephone interview with SaharaReporters, Mr. Atiku disclosed that he was opposed to the formation of an interim government. He stated that when former military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida, set up an interim national government in 1993, the dictator offered him a position in the government through the late General Shehu Yar’Adua (ret.). He said he rejected the position, adding that it was eventually given to a Lagos politician Dapo Sarumi. Asked further about the substance of his conversation with Mr. Jonathan, the former vice president said advised the president to ensure that the elections were free and fair and devoid of the bloodshed that trailed the 2011 general elections. |
