They have no right to be taking their frustrations out on us... And many of them are just biased. My sister, even if they resign and another set are hired, at some point they won’t be motivated to do the job. The cycle continues….. Good pay motivates employees to deliver excellently. |

1. Improve the UI/UX design of NL. This current design is archaic
2. Hire employees with good reporting skills to get valuable news. I am speaking of local and international. Using this opportunity to reduce a guy’s post who literally fills FP with Russia news.
3. People should be able to post irrespective of the religious thread. Asking non Muslim to accept the caveat of believing in Muslim faith is very annoying. The same people post on Christian thread without this T&C. Better still, put a caveat on Christian related thread so people can accept before posting comment
4. Sometimes do loyalty program for people during festive seasons and reward dedicated members on Nairaland who push interesting and valuable threads on FP
5. Video upload with limit in size due to infrastructure capacity. A dislike button, profile feeds for ads and personalized pics, messaging people without going via email and should be in-web messaging, dark night mode
6. I heard some moderators are not paid at all while the ones paid is not economic friendly. Please work on your compensation to your staff and if you are only paying supermods, at least reward active moderators like Dominic and co with data subscription every month. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Anti-Trump Protesters Gather In Washington, Other US Cities by Dynamicboss: 6:56am On Apr 06, 2025 |
JASONjnr: The effect will be endless......
Nigeria for instance increased their tariff on foreign goods including goods from the US to about 35% for general tariffs and 20% for import duty... Note that foreign rice was increased to 100% tariff.
Trump increased its tariffs to 20% to 54% depending on the country.
If these countries increased, US will also increase.
So it's a reciprocal tariff and why are these countries aggrieved? They were enjoying their moments placing foreign goods on higher tariffs And what are we experiencing in Nigeria after these tariff hikes? Hyper inflation, negative economic growth, lower purchasing power, even the domestic industries; agriculture, manufacturing, etc still cannot meet our demands because raw materials and machineries needed to drive production comes with a bottleneck cost. America does not need this now. Job losses and increase in commodities cost is driving people crazy there |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Anti-Trump Protesters Gather In Washington, Other US Cities by Dynamicboss: 6:45am On Apr 06, 2025 |
JASONjnr: As a foreign observer, I believe President Trump's economic policies, particularly his tariffs, are a strategic move to boost the US economy. The Trump tariffs aim to level the playing field for American businesses and workers by imposing taxes on imported goods. This approach has both supporters and critics, but it is designed to protect US industries, generate revenue, and stimulate domestic production and investment. While the tariffs may lead to higher prices for consumers and reduced economic growth in the short term, they can also be seen as a negotiating tool to secure more favorable trade agreements with other countries. The tariffs imposed on China, Canada, and Mexico, as well as those on steel and aluminum, are specific examples of this policy in action. Overall, Trump's tariffs are a complex and multifaceted policy aimed at promoting American economic interests. Part of economic boost is when you have good trade relationship with other countries. I get he is imposing higher tariffs on foreign goods to boost America’s local production but what about a lot of countries imposing huge tariffs in America goods? Who will then buy America goods? Africa? His economic approach is negative and it is already affecting US stock |
