I am hearing a sound as if one carries an empty gallon inside my car [Avalon 05/06]. I hear it when I turn the engine on or off, when I'm driving on a rough road. I also hear it when I press the break.
Please, what could be happening?

Please, I use this same kind of car. Toyota Avalon 2005/06 model . My dashboard showed MAINT REQR'D for some weeks now. It has refused to go after I serviced the car & changed the oil.

I don't know how true the auto check is. I believe it's not supposed to tell you what port the car was sent to according to my limited knowledge Sha.

There is no how you can identify a tokunbo car used in Nigeria regularly for long distance. If your report is true, ask the owner what port the car came in through to Nigeria, if he says tin can, then walk away from the deal.

Go under the car, a Nigerian rocked tokunbo would have the plastics covering the body highly misaligned, muddy under neat, engine seat probably soaked with oil like muddy water. Ask the owner when the car came into the country by verifying from the custom document, then do a Vin check, the last time the car was registered abroad crossed checked with the custom clearance date will tell a lot about the car

Thanks nurey. The AutoCheck actually said the car was shipped to Benin Republic in Feb, 2013 (it didn't say Cotonou port exactly) and it was last registered abroad that same 2013. From the custom clearance paper, the car reportedly came into Nigeria through Seme border (dealer confirmed this also) and the date was May 2016.

Good topic but people have still not yet made important suggestions. I want to buy a car for which I ran an AutoCheck. The AutoCheck reveals that the car was shipped to Cotonou in 2013 but the dealer is claiming that it's toks (in 2016). I will like to investigate whatever caused the 3 years lacuna. I'll like to know if it's Nigeria used & is being diabolically projected as toks. There is no plate number to verify with. my people, your advice is highly needed. The car is a Toyota avalon 2005/06 Touring

2) Also, kindly note the odometer reading when it was shipped to Benin Republic was 137830 while the odometer reading when I checked it is now 138205: difference of 375.

I met with Cardoctor (Engineer Donald) today. he has a big auto mech workshop here in abuja and they repair mainly modern cars. He turned out to be a very meticulous person and has a lot of knowledge about everything concerning cars. A university graduate from the UK and has been working on cars for close to 30 years (as he said). Thats almost my own age. Anyway, we went to check on a few Toyota Camry cars that I have sourced from OLX and jiji including one which i saw along Kubwa express way.

The first one was 2012 Camry in Gwarimpa. Despite the lovely appearance of the car in the pictures, it had been involved in a front accident and repaired. (the seller told me that it has never been in an accident before but Cardoctor was quick to shut him up and showed him all the areas that the car had been bashed including the passenger rear door which was out of alignment. The windscreen too has been recently changed and gum all around it. Paintwork was also new but badly sprayed with drips everywhere but it will take someone like Cardoctor to point them out. Airbag light, VSC and injector light was on too. We had to abandon that one.

Second was the one on Kubwa express way (i almost thought that i have found my new love when i saw it). 2013 but had also been in an accident and the Cardoctor himsel had noticed it even before we got to the car. Afew items were hanging loose in the engine and you can see where some plastics had been repaired. Everything else seems to work fine and cloth interior is so clean. though we didnt drive it but the price was just too high for me.

Cardoctor charges per car which i think his charges are reasonable considering what one might save in future repairs as well as avoiding my previous nightmares. I will be viewing another one tomorrow with him.

This car has been placed on advert since earlier this month. I see the price has changed from the initial value. The mobile number has changed also. You said it's at Sango yet your schedule is busy & it's a big challenge to inspect the car. I've been in Ibadan for up to 3 days now. I will like to inspect the car. Does it have navigation? Has it been baked in Nigeria? Any minor issue at all (to fix)? What's the mileage?
