Now Ephradite sought after Chaleb, saying, you said that you have made very tiny organisms that can decay dead woods.

Everyone now knows Dave Umahi, a smart, industrious and energetic former governor turned minister of works.

Truth be told he did wonders in Abakilik through his well placed road and bridge infrastructures plus Airport. I visited Abaliliki in 2021, one of my maternal uncles is a practicing medical doctor in Abalikili, and then again in 2006, when I visited a friend. Seeing the transformation with bridges was something tangible.

But alas, Ebonyi state doesn’t have the needed human traffic to turn these into a spread effect catalyst. I heard the traffic rate on those bridges and roads are so negligible and you wonder why it was build in the first place.

While growing up we often hear moms talking of Abakiliki rice, though the less preferred for those of us who grew up middle class, but it was something I became proud of, that indeed the Igbos can farm a particular class of crops and have it’s distribution to far mid~westerner part of the country especially when “UNCLE BEST” brand of rice, imported, was more preferred.

Now, given this data, imagine for once what those funds used to build bridges could have done for Ebonyi state in rice farming? I tell you it’s enough to bestow upon every household in Ebonyi state small modern rice milling machines, packaging kits for 500 bags and also to employ 5000 professional rice millers from Asia for 2 years who will teach and help ordinary Ebonyi farmers process and package the farmed rice for local export to other states. The knowledge transfer would be mighty.

After two years the Asians are free to leave. But I tell you, 50% will stay and start their own farms and processing and additional 500 Asians will migrate to Ebonyi for same venture.

But this man couldn’t see beyond his nose because he is consumed by Emilokan brand of politics of always been in power.

Now Ebonyi is in a financial mess. Loans collected to build bridges are failing, current handpicked governor can’t do anything beyond payment of salary to workers and hanger on.

Then came the Coastal Highway of Fraud! Umahi systematically dropped two quotes that would protect him in future:

1. The coastal highway project has failed. To be rerouted. He probably was briefed and realised the criminal implications, quickly informed the public. In his mind , ministers don’t aware projects, they only get it done!

2. A 15 trillion naira project has no engineering design, EIA etc. So on what strength was the contract awarded? Never mind that the BPE and other checks and balance vetting agencies never submitted approval for the project because they would actually need an EIA as well as engineering designs to approve. Since none was available, they simply pass back to do what they wanted!

Umahi actually just made the job of prosecutors easier in 2027. It’s quite clear that the coastal highway project was a hoax designed to claw money and settle international criminal cartels to the heroin trafficker in Aso Rock.


Please don’t blame Umahi, he is a good learner. He saw how those who urged Emefiele on abandoned him. And given his ego, he just won’t be Emefiele part 2 in 2027!

I said it on this platform, before kwankwaso and Peter Obi joined NDC , that kwankwaso primary objective is 2031. And Peter Obi winning the election will damage it.

Because no northerners will trust Peter Obi to use 4 years. And also Kwankwaso will need the support of the Southwest in 2031 , if he wants to be president.
