TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by ebele123: 6:32am On Jun 28, 2025
Please I went for interview for Charity worker visa, I answered questions elaborately and decision has been sent to me refusing my visa with vague reasons. My COS states that no experience is needed for the Role because comprehensive training will be provided for the position. But luckily for me I have experience in the sector which was added advantage to me not a requirement. Unfortunately the officer just lifted few sentences about my explanations on the duties and ignored other things I said and went ahead to state that I didn't explain much while I did and besides experience is not needed at all as certified in the cos because my experience was just added advantage.

My Question Now is:

My Company has another session coming up January application will start by October.

Should I apply again by October and attach cover letter addressing how my existing application was unjustly refused and making a new application with more information about me and why it was or unjust

Or

Go for administrative review. But administrative review takes longer time.

ADVISE ME PLEASE 🙏🙏

Thank you so much Sir! God bless.
Please can you type me website to book Turkish Airways?

Ashirioluwa:
Turkish Airlines will take you to Birmingham.
You don’t need transit visa if you use Turkish Airlines for your journey to Birmingham.

Lagos (LOS) - Istanbul (IST) - Birmingham (BHX).

But if you fly other airlines like BA or Virgin Atlantic from Lagos directly to London, then you can use the National Express coach bus from London Heathrow to Birmingham instead of flying.

I have visited Birmingham, and I have used both options.

That's nice... although my company expects me to arrive Birghmmighan Airport because there reps will be there to pick me. Although they said arriving London will require them to arrange another onward travel from London to Bighmmigham although I don't know if Turkish Airlines land at Bighmmiham and additionally; WILL I BE NEEDING TRANSIT VISA FOR IT FROM TURKEY? AND HOW TO OBTAIN IT.

Ashirioluwa:
Turkish airlines. It will take you from Nigeria to Istanbul airport in Turkiye, and then to your final destination.

Is there particular flight I can enter from Nigeria that will have the stop over at Turkey before proceeding to the UK?

Ashirioluwa:
Istanbul Airport does have sleeping cabins located at international departure area.

Ashirioluwa:
Wine and dine, and you can rent one of those sleep cabins to relax when you are tired.

Please give me hints on WHAT WILL YOU DO IF YOUR APPLICATION IS REFUSED?

Neyopumpin02:
If you are sponsoring your own studies, you should inform the interviewer that you have sufficient savings to cover both your tuition fees and living expenses.

Thank you so much. For my case, my company is taking care of everything including airport pickup, full time accommodations with all facilities en-suite.
I don't have family members in the UK.

[qquote author=kel4soft post=135689652]

Family members in UK, that's their interest. Since the visa cannot allow you work. They believe you will need someone like your sibling or partner who is already there that will accommodate you. The said person must put this in writing in acover letter including attaching their council tax. However, if you are planning to come with a dependant (whom ironically can work as they like) as tier 5 allows that. You will also need to state it too. This will strengthened your financial stability but offcourse that first few weeks of arrival - you will need to let them where you will living and who is picking you up at the airport.
Interrogate him well to understand if actually he has never been married. Because they see everything in their system

{quote author=afor post=135683087]Hello Cashmadam and all the gurus in the house. I applied for a dependent visa (partner) and was asked to submit additional documents for proof that we have met in person and subsisting relationship evidence last Sunday which i did.
I got another email today requesting "Evidence supporting the divorce of your sponsor, and any previous spouses". He has never been married.
I am a widow and I submitted my late husband's death certificate with my documents uploaded during application.
How do i go about this please?
Thank you for your insight please can you talk more on family ties? Are you referring to having family members in the uk or Nigeria? Which aspect are they keen on?

kel4soft:
I guess you meant the UK home office interview? Yes! It happens online but at the UK visa centre and not your home. However, you'll be given ample time to prepare. Make sure you are conversant of the organisation you have applied for especially their postal code. Secondly, accommodation is another strong point. Is your sponsor providing any and whats the postcode?
Do you have any family member over here?
Charity visa which is a tier 5 one is not expected to earn wages or salaries but stipends to cover groceries. This is where family ties comes in.

I have noticed, if you have a travel history to any of the developed world. Interview will be waved.
