The Decline of Small Business Advertising on Nairaland

It is truly heartbreaking to see what Nairaland is gradually becoming. Small businesses can hardly advertise anymore without running into restrictions or automated bans. In many cases, if you manage to create just two threads, your account gets temporarily banned for hours before you are able to post again.

Even when trying to support the platform through paid advertising campaigns, the experience can be frustrating—many clicks come in, but they rarely translate into real sales. For many small businesses that once depended on Nairaland to reach customers, this situation is becoming increasingly discouraging.

It is important to remember that many small businesses started and grew on Nairaland. These businesses helped transform the forum into not only a discussion platform but also a vibrant marketplace. Today, however, many of these entrepreneurs are beginning to look for other platforms where they can advertise and grow their businesses without unnecessary limitations.

The implications of these automated bans and restrictions are troubling for loyal members and business owners who have prioritized Nairaland as their primary online space. Having been a member of Nairaland since 2010, it is painful to watch a platform that once empowered small businesses gradually lose the very community that helped build it.

If nothing is done about the current automated ban system, many long-time members like myself may eventually be forced to leave this forum that was once truly great.

An Iranian Army spokesman says 220 American soldiers and commanders have been killed or wounded and significant damage has been inflicted on American assets in the region in retaliatory attacks by the Iranian Armed Forces over the past 24 hours.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Zolfaghari, said on Saturday that 21 American service members were killed and a number of others injured during Iranian attacks on the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.

He added that some 200 American personnel were also killed and wounded during strikes against the US military base in Al Dhafra Air Base.

The Armed Forces also targeted an oil tanker owned by the United States in the northern part of the Persian Gulf, he noted.


US confirms Iran destroyed $300m radar system in Jordan
The US confirmed that Iran has destroyed a key $300 million radar system used by US THAAD missile defense systems at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
The US and Israel waged a fresh round of unlawful military aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country and its nuclear facilities.

The attacks led to the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and hundreds of Iranian civilians, including women and children, as well as military commanders.

Iran began to swiftly retaliate against the strikes by launching barrages of missile and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases in regional countries.

Iranian officials have said that only US and Israeli assets and interests are being targeted and that the Islamic Republic has no enmity toward the host countries and respects their sovereignty.

This man has never worked a day in his entire life. He has been living in his father’s shadow and wealth in Europe for over 40 years.
