PoliticsDogara Orders Non-performing Committees To Stop Work by Ebisco013(op): 8:23am On Nov 16, 2017
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Wednesday ordered all committees yet to conclude their investigations to discontinue same forthwith.

‎The Speaker’s declaration was sequel to his warning last month that all ad hoc and standing committees yet to submit their reports must do so within one week or forfeit their mandates to the whole House.

At plenary, Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai, (PDP, Delta), in a point of order, cited Order 17 Rule 3 and Order 10 that the issue should be re-visited as it affects the tenets of the 8th Assembly’s Legislative Agenda.

‎He said: “Five weeks ago, Mr Speaker, you ordered that committees that had not submitted their reports in the last one year should submit their reports or forfeit their rights to such bills or probes

“Mr Speaker, five weeks after, nothing has happened and this runs contrary to the legislative agenda of this 8th House which you have been championing.

“These committees were mandated to submit their reports within 30 days according to our House Rules but six months and even one year after, they are yet to submit reports,” Ossai noted.

He explained that some of the bills and investigations were more than a year old, adding that “some are even two years old and we’ll be failing in our duties if nothing is done.”

The Speaker then called asked Chairman Rules and Business, Rep Orker Jev, (APC, Benue), to give a narrative to the House on his earlier directive.

Oker Jev, in his reaction, told the House that “we committee complied with the directive and letters were sent to all the affected committees but they complained of spending money to conduct public hearings so we gave them sometime.

‎”We gave them time because if we don’t, the House will be losing money and if you remember, I was the one that brought it to the knowledge of the House,”Jev said.

In his ruling, Dogara ordered that his directive be immediately effected.

Dogara had in October complained that a total of 162 committees’ investigative reports were yet to be laid before the House, several months after they were constituted.

PoliticsDickson Speaks On His Alleged Rift With Jonathan by Ebisco013(op): 10:07pm On Nov 15, 2017
Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has debunked the alleged cold war between him and former President Goodluck Jonathan.

A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Francis Agbo, quoted him as making this comment ‎on Wednesday when Dickson paid a condolence visit on Jonathan in his Otuoke home on the passing of the Paramount Ruler of Otuoke Community, Justin Ogiasa.

The governor, who led a high-powered state delegation to the condolence visit said, he was part of the Ogiasa family and by extension, the Otuoke Community of Ogbia Local Government.

“We are here in full force as we have always done to commiserate with you, my elder brother, leader and the Ogiasa family in this hour of bereavement. We pray God to grant the Late Ogiasa eternal repose,” Dickson said.

He, therefore, called on those, who want to cause imaginary differences between him and Mr. Jonathan to sink their plans.

He said “both of us have come a long way. My personal political story cannot be complete without talking about my elder brother, Jonathan. He also knows that I made little contribution that is recorded in the political chapter of his life.”

In is reaction, Mr. Jonathan thanked Dickson for the visit and denied the existence of any rift between them.

“There is no way I can sit anywhere and plan evil against Bayelsa or the Governor. When I was dreaming of becoming a governor, Dickson was amongst the very few in the meetings we were holding, although he was not in the PDP he opted to help.

“He said he didn’t want to be in the PDP, but I virtually forced him to join PDP. When I became governor, I appointed Dickson Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General and that was how he became a PDP and later became a member of House of Representatives and so on. There is no way I will break my relationship with the governor,”‎ he said.

PoliticsBiafra: IPOB Silly For Threatening To Assassinate Buhari During Trip To Igboland by Ebisco013(op): 12:46pm On Nov 15, 2017
The Presidency on Wednesday lambasted the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for threatening to assassinate President Muhammadu Buhari should he visit the South East.

Following disclosure of Buhari’s planned visit to the South East, which started yesterday, IPOB had warned that the president would not return alive should he emback on the trip.

However, Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie described IPOB as “foolish, stupid, silly and childish” to have warned the President against his trip to the South East.

In a statement on her Facebook page, the Presidential aide said despite the threat, Buhari “woke up today in Abakaliki” the South East.

She wrote: “There’s a clown, a charlatan and a comedian, all rolled in one, who goes by a fake name, “Emmanuel Powerful. He is not powerful enough to remember and use his family name, but he threatens the Commander In Chief of the biggest Army in Africa and an Igbo Triple Chief Muhammadu Buhari, Ochioha Ndigbo (Leader of Igbo people), Enyioma 1 of Ebonyi (Trustworthy friend of Ebonyi) and Ogbuagu 1 of Aba Kingdom.

“Going by his name, he is not an Igbo man so he needs to ask his partner in crime, ex leader of proscribed Terrorist organisation IPOB, (if he knows where he is), what Ogbuagu means.

“It’s foolish, stupid, silly and childish to tell the President of our nation, who has the mandate of the people of Nigeria, not to come to a section of the territory under his jurisdiction.

“Today, Baba woke up in Abakaliki. He will soon, be on his way to Awka, an industrial hub in Igboland and a key city in the #MadeInNigeria and. #BuyNigeria agenda of the Buhari Administration. Nigeria belongs to Nigerians. And there’s no “No go area” for any of us, including our President. Thank you Ndigbo.”

Politics2018 Budget Will Address Issue Of Bad Roads In South East – Buhari by Ebisco013(op): 11:01pm On Nov 14, 2017
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari, today reiterated his commitment to address the issue of bad roads in South East geopolitical zone.

The president made this known in Abakaliki while addressing stakeholders of the state at the exco-chambers during his one day working visit to the state.

Buhari, who is visiting the region for the first time since he became President, said the diversity of the country makes it unique among the committee of nations.

President Buhari also insisted that he will continue to promote the unity of Nigeria even on the faces of challenges.

“My presence here today is a demonstration of my strong belief in the unity of Nigeria. As the most populous country in Africa with over 300 ethnic groups, our diversity is almost unique among other nations,” he said.

He assured the people of the South East of his administration’s commitment to carry out projects that will fast-tracking development in the region.

Buhari noted further that, in keeping with his promise to South East leaders, the 2018 budget which he recently presented to the National Assembly captured many projects in the zone in accordance with his promise to the region.

“When I met with leaders of the South East last month in Abuja, they raised several issues of concern including the state of roads in the region. I want to assure you that we will deliver on our promise. Our 2018 budget include many strategic projects for the region in roads, power, agriculture and social sector,” the President said.

Buhari was decorated with the highest chieftaincy tittle of Enyi-Oma 1 of Ebonyi state from traditional rulers of the state.

He also inaugurated some projects including 2 flyovers, Abakaliki- Afikpo federal roads among others.

Earlier, the Governor, David Umahi said the state was appreciative of the President’s support to the state especially in the area of Agriculture.

He, however, appealed to the President for refund of money expended by the state government on some Federal Roads in the state.

Also, the former governor of the state, Sam Egwu who addressed the President on behalf of the stakeholders in the state commended the President for the recent decision to pay former Biafra Police officers pensions.

“Such an act of accommodation is what translates a mere leader to a great father of the Nation”.

He pleaded with the president to give the state assistance in the area of agriculture; roads and education to enable the state catch up with other states.

PoliticsAnglican Primate, Okoh Speaks On Buhari, Warns President Over Appointees by Ebisco013(op): 9:59am On Nov 14, 2017
Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has rated President Muhammadu Buhari’s war against corruption high.

He, however, warned the president to be careful of his appointees.

Okoh disclosed that those around Buhari may discredit him, if he allowed them control his government.

“Going by the anti-corruption crusade, he has succeeded. Not necessarily judging by the number of people who have been jailed, not necessarily judging by the amount of money recovered, but by emphasising the fact that corruption is a wrong thing and it should not become our way of life”, Independent quoted him as saying.

”That is the only success: to tell our ministers, to tell our governors, to tell our vice chancellors, to tell our head of institutions and anybody holding any appointment that stealing government money is not a correct thing. By that crusade alone, I think he has succeeded in doing something.

”We have lost the sense of sin in this country. In fact, some people started calling it miracle. They steal and say the miracle has happened. They go to church to go and do thanksgiving for doing a wrong thing.

“So, if only that recall to the knowledge of evil, to the sense of sin and the need for national rebirth, if only for that, I think he has done well.

“On other matters, I will appeal to him to spread his love across the country. Nigerians call him Baba. He should merit the title. Baba is a noble respectable title and he deserves it at his age.

“But if he is not careful in the way he allows his subordinates to help him in running the place, they will discredit him greatly. Because if you say you are the head, you are the leader and all your children cannot come close to you, then what is the meaning of the Baba? A Baba should attract all his children.

“We are Africans. If you locate that in the African polygamous system, a man can have as many as five wives. If children from a particular woman call the man Baba and he doesn’t want to answer, it means he is discriminating against those ones. So, there should be fair treatment,” he added.

PoliticsWhy PDP Wants Buhari To Run As APC Candidate In 2019 – Spokesman by Ebisco013(op): 1:25pm On Nov 11, 2017
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national publicity secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, says it is the wish of the opposition party to see the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) field President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

According to him, PDP will coast on to victory effortlessly.

“Buhari running will make it very easy for us. What achievement would he use as his campaign message?

“What would he tell Nigerians is the reason for his coming to do a second term?”, he told Sun.

“In our national life, there has been no improvement, it has been retrogression. Is it in politics, economy, security, and his fight against corruption? There is no record to present to Nigerians. It is going to be an easy finish off for us, and we pray he should be the APC presidential candidate.

“Short of any rigging of the election, which we are going to be very vigilant and would not allow it to occur, there is no way Buhari will win another election in Nigeria. Even in the north, he lost his popularity, because Northerners ask themselves, if their lives are better today than some few years ago under the PDP? The answer would be an emphatic No.

“We have seen two and half years of this government and by 2019, Nigerians shall compare the four years of APC and four years of PDP, and know the party that cares for them. The records speak in favour of PDP.”

On accusation that the PDP was behind non-performance of the Buhari administration, Adeyeye said the ruling party was already afraid of defeat in the next general elections.

“It is very stupid for anybody to continue to blame PDP for his inadequacy, and we will see how this blame game will help them in 2019, whether Nigerians elected you to come and blame anybody or to come and perform. We will see in 2019.

“The truth of the matter is that this government doesn’t have anything to offer; it is always blaming, and blaming.

“When you have a government that is always blaming and looking for scapegoat for its inactions and failures, then you have seen an unserious government that can never deliver on any of its promises. That is the stock in trade of the ruling party, just to find scapegoat for all its inactions and in adequacies.

“APC is fixated on finding scapegoats for its failures. If they said that some people in PDP that came into their party polluted them, why can’t you just tell them to leave your party now, so that we can welcome them back and continue our march in progress towards 2019.”

PoliticsAnambra Guber: Gov Obiano Promises Better Deal For Civil Servants by Ebisco013(op): 8:59pm On Nov 08, 2017
Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has promised to commence a N500 million Housing Estate for workers in the state by January 2018.

The governor made this promises when he spoke to workers at this year’s public Service Day held at the Jerome Udorji Secretariat Complex, Awka on Tuesday.

He declared that workers deserved better living and working condition.

He told the workers that the Anambra State Executive Council was already considering making the existing contributory pension non-compulsory, to ensure that workers had something to fall back on after service.

The governor who was apparently wooing the civil servants for his second term bid promised to ensure yearly promotions for them, while urging them to vote en-masse for his return at the Nov. 18 governorship poll.

The Anambra State Head of service, Mr Harry Udu, had earlier highlighted some of the achievements of the Obiano administration since he assumed office, stating that such were enough reasons for workers to vote for him.

He listed the offsetting of backlog of pension and gratuity to former workers of Anambra State Service (ABS) and Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation (ANPC) publishers of national Light newspapers as some of those achievements.

The head of service enjoined the workers to vote for the governor at the upcoming election.

PoliticsOsinbajo Not A Pastor – Omokri Explodes Over Vp’s Claims Against Jonathan by Ebisco013(op): 10:30pm On Nov 07, 2017
The camp of former President Goodluck Jonathan has stated that Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, is not a Pastor.

This is in reaction to Osinbajo’s claim that Jonathan’s administration did not build any infrastructure for Nigeria but frittered away the nation’s wealth.

“Of course, we all know that there was very little by the way of investment in infrastructure and capital projects”, Osinbajo was quoted as saying.

“In fact, in 2015, capital spend was less than 11%. So, there was very little to show for where this money went,” he added.

But a statement by Jonathan’s former special assistant on New Media, Reno Omokri, on Tuesday, described the comment as a barefaced lie.

Titled ‘Vice President Osinbajo’s Penchant to Lie Against ex-President Jonathan is Unbecoming of an Alleged Pastor’, the statement said it was on record that the Jonathan administration was only second to the Yakubu Gowon administration in terms of infrastructure.

“The most expensive and valuable project built in Nigeria in the last 20 years is the $1.8 billion Abuja-Kaduna 187 kilometres super-fast railway that enables Nigerians work in Abuja and live in Kaduna. This project was built and completed by the Jonathan administration. Does the Vice President know this?

“Also, former President Jonathan revived the Nigerian Railways in five of the six geo-political zones restoring direct rail service from Lagos to Kano, Port Harcourt to Maiduguri and Makurdi to Gombe.

“When Rotimi Amaechi took over as minister of transport in 2015, he said “In fact, I think we have a problem; most people don’t believe that the railway transport is functioning in Nigeria. I didn’t even know, until I started this tour, I never knew that the railway was functioning, it was even from his (MD’s) speech that I learnt that there are some coaches or services that go to Kano or Port Harcourt or elsewhere.

“My question to the Vice President is who built these rail infrastructures that Amaechi was referring to?

“Under former President Jonathan, Nigeria for the first time had national radar coverage through the the Total Radio Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON) project completed by the Jonathan administration in 2012. TRACON is the reason Nigeria no longer has frequent air crashes. Can Vice President Osinbajo deny that this was done by the Jonathan government?

“Going further, the Jonathan administration completed the $600 million 750 MW Olorunsogo II Power Station in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State. Does the Vice President deny this?

“The Jonathan government also built the 504 MW simple cycle Gas Alaoji Power station in Aba, Abia State. Is this also a lie?

“That administration also built 12 brand new federal universities including the only federal university in President Buhari’s state of Katsina. The Jonathan administration also constructed and completed 165 Almajiri schools all over Northern Nigeria.

“Nigerians will recall that the Jonathan administration rebuilt the Benin-Ore portions of the Benin-Lagos road, the Vom-Manchok road, the Kano-Zaria Road bridge in Kano (named after late Emir Ado Bayero) and many more.

“Now, I urge Nigerians to compare these projects with what has been conceived of, started and completed by the Buhari administration which has only been able to initiate and complete only one project in two and a half years, which is the helipad in Daura.

“How can an administration that cannot even provide paracetamol for the Aso Rock clinic despite over N3billion budgeted for it under President Buhari (according to the First Lady) accuse the Jonathan administration that refurbished 10 general hospitals for the masses across Nigeria?

“There was never a time that the external reserve was $45 billion under Jonathan. The reserves were $33-35 billion under Jonathan.

“The money the Vice President added to make it $45 billion was the Excess Crude Account which Jonathan refused to touch until members of Mr. Osinbajo’s party, the All Progressive Congress, led by the then Governor of Rivers state and chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Rotimi Amaechi, took the Federal Government to court and got the Supreme Court to force the Jonathan administration to share that money with them.

“We will continue to pray for Vice President Osinbajo who is obviously unequally yoked and is now mixing light with darkness.”

PoliticsMaina: What Buhari Must ‘urgently’ Do To Ex-pension Boss – Falana by Ebisco013(op): 10:13pm On Nov 05, 2017
Femi Falana, Lagos activist lawyer, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently sanction all government officials involved in the reinstatement of the former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina.

Falana gave the call while noting that the handling of the scandal generated by the recall of Maina had eroded the credibility of the current anti-corruption crusade.

In a statement he issued on Sunday titled, “President Buhari should act with dispatch on Mainagate” Falana said the “time is certainly not on the side of President Buhari”.

The activist lawyer argued that those who recalled Maina, “deliberately set out to subvert the anti-corruption policy of the Buhari administration”.

Falana noted that through such demonstration of official impunity, the officials involved have exposed the country to ridicule before the comity of nations.

“Therefore, the sanctions which the Federal Government will mete out to all the officials who conspired to expose the administration and the nation to such avoidable shame will make or mar the fight against corruption and impunity which is the cornerstone of the domestic and foreign policy thrust of the administration,”‎ he said.

On the claim by Maina’s family that Buhari’s government reinstated the ex-Pension boss, Falana said, “In view of the revelation of the family which has not been denied, it is crystal clear that the highly placed officials of the federal government who brought Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina back to the country, gave him a clean bill of health, provided him with ‘necessary security’, reinstated him, promoted him and paid his arrears of salaries and allowances totalling N22 million deliberately set out to subvert the anti-corruption policy of the Buhari administration.”

Falana described the payment of N22 million to Maina as “the height of insensitivity to pay arrears of salaries to a fugitive at a time when hundreds of thousands of workers and pensioners are owed arrears of their legitimate emoluments.”

He added, “Having found Maina and exonerated him, why was Interpol not informed that he was no longer wanted to stand trial for his role in the unprecedented pension fraud?

“Since Mr. Maina’s “necessary security” provided by the State Security Service has not been withdrawn, why is the federal government requesting the Interpol to declare him wanted again?

“Will Interpol believe that a man who was provided with “necessary security” cannot be found by the federal government? Why is the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission asking Nigerians to assist in searching for the fugitive?”

PoliticsIBB Reveals Plan To Give Nigerians Free Education by Ebisco013(op): 10:00am On Nov 05, 2017
Former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd.) has revealed his plan to establish a scholarship programme at all levels of the Nigerian school system in memory of his late wife, Maryam Babangida.

Babangida made the disclosure at the weekend in his address at the Inaugural Annual Memorial Lecture in honour of the former first lady, who died from ovarian cancer on December 27, 2009 in California, USA.

Babangida, represented by Chief Emmanuel Eboh, poured encomiums on late Maryam, who he described as a faithful wife, role model and supportive partner dedicated to the emancipation of Nigerian women.

He said that late Maryam worked with passion and commitment towards alleviating the poor living condition of Nigerian families, through her pet project, the ‘Better Life for Rural Women’, which she initiated to empower the women.

“The late Maryam Babangida, whom we are honouring today is a great woman of value. She is a supportive wife, a caring mother and a role model who brought out the true colour of the Nigerian woman.

“She is a woman of colours in every aspect of her life. It is in view of her contribution to the emancipation of the Nigerian woman, that as a family, we want this annual event to embody scholarship awards.

“The scholarship award programme will be part of our contribution to the preservation of the memory of this great Nigerian woman. The scholarship will cut across all levels of the Nigerian school system,” Babangida said.

CrimeBoko Haram: NAF Bombard Terrorists Holding Meeting In Sambisa Forest by Ebisco013(op): 6:00am On Nov 05, 2017
Nigerian Air Force (NAF) yesterday bombarded Boko Haram terrorists holding a meeting inside Sambisa forest.

Air Commodore, Olatokunbo Adesanya, Director of Public Relations and Information, said this in a statement on Saturday.

He noted that fighter jets conducted an air interdiction mission on a large structure in Talala, a location in Sambisa occupied by Boko Haram.

“Intelligence reports from NAF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platforms as well as Human Intelligence had revealed that a sizeable number of BHTs were holding a meeting in the blue-roofed building”, Adesanya said.

“Consequently, a NAF fighter aircraft was scrambled to attack the building.

“Subsequent Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) revealed that the building and its occupants were neutralized as a result of the air strike”.

NAF had initiated Operation RUWAN WUTA II, on 23 October 2017, to further decimate the ability of the sect to freely operate with a view to giving advantage to ground troops.

Politics"Tinubu Lost Son After Showing Interest In Buhari’s Job" – Femi Fani-Kayode by Ebisco013(op): 3:54pm On Nov 04, 2017
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has lamented the tragic events that happen to those who occupy Nigeria’s number one seat and their loved ones or individuals who show interest in the position, saying the death of Jide Tinubu was tragic.

According to him, “one year and six months before the 2019 presidential election, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos state, APC National Leader, Buhari’s closest and most powerful ally in southern Nigeria and a man who, it is rumoured, himself has presidential ambition lost his first son”.

This is contained in an article he sent to DAILY POST on Saturday titled: The angel of death that stalks the corridors of power.

Fani-Kayode also recalled other instances that involved those who have had the privilege to be in the presidential villa.

He wrote: “Chief Bisi Onabanjo, the first democratically-elected Governor of Ogun state lost his first son. Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the first democratically elected Governor of Lagos state, lost his first daughter. Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, the second democratically-elected Governor of Oyo state lost his son.

“Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, the first Minister of Finance of Nigeria was killed. Chief Alfred Rewane, one of the founding members of the Action Group and a leading figure in NADECO, was killed. The list is endless and I could go on and on.

“Alhaji Musa Yar’adua was Minister of Lagos Affairs in the First Republic. He was blessed with a long and peaceful life. However two of his sons were not so lucky.

“His first son, General Shehu Musa Yar’adua, who was number two to General Obasanjo when he was military Head of State and who for many decades was one of the most powerful men in the country, was murdered whilst he was in prison. His second son, President Umaru Yar’adua, was cut short in his prime by a strange and inexplicable ailment after he had been President for only three years.

“He was succeeded by his number two, Vice President Goodluck Jonathan. Jonathan lost his brother and his mother-in-law one year after the other after he became President. After losing the presidential election in 2015 he lost his Special Advisor on Political Affairs and his Chief Security Officer within a matter of months.

“Worse still those that he had been deputy to throughout his political life, either as Deputy Governor or Vice President, always suffered one form of misfortune or the other, whether it be death, shame, incarceration or impeachment, and he would end up stepping into their shoes and taking their place.

“When it comes to our military rulers the story of consistent tragedy is no different- General Aguiyi-Ironsi, our first military Head of State was killed. General Yakubu Gowon, our second military Head of State, was toppled from power, exiled, lost his brother and his first son was jailed.

“General Murtala Mohammed, our third military Head of State, was killed and lost both his son and son-in-law. General Olusegun Obasanjo was our fourth military Head of State and we touched on his misfortunes earlier.

“General Muhammadu Buhari, our fifth military Head of State, was toppled from power, locked up for three years, lost his mother whilst he was in detention and was not allowed to attend her burial, lost his number two (General Tunde Idiagbon) in very strange and suspicious circumstances and later lost two daughters.

“General Ibrahim Babangida, our sixth military Head of State, was eased out of power and compelled to ”step aside” amidst massive controversy and turmoil and later lost his wife.

“His number two, Rear Admiral Augustus Aikhomu, lost his first son, Chief Ernest Shonekan, our first and only Interim Civilian Head of State, was badly humiliated and toppled from power.

“General Sani Abacha, our seventh military Head of State, lost his son, was removed from power and was killed. General Abdulsalami Abubakar, our eighth military Head of State, as far as I am aware is the only exception and appears to have escaped any misfortune.”

CrimeSee The Shocking Things We Discovered In Late Popular Billionaire, Ezego’s N500M by Ebisco013(op): 9:38am On Oct 25, 2017
Late Popular Billionaire, Ezego’s N500Million Mansion Years After His Unclear Death

There is apprehension in Ihiala town, Anambra as a N500million mansion belonging to a late billionaire is abandoned over his connection with the dreaded Okija shrine.

A visit to the village called Uzoakwa in Ihiala town, the home of the late billionaire business mogul, who was known as Chief Victor Okafor aka ‘King of Money’ (EZEGO), showed how his N500m mansion had been deserted after his demise.

What is it with “mystery” money?

It was still a surprise to many in the community that despite the expensive properties and valuables inside the abandoned mansion, robbers have not burgled the place to steal any of them because of the late Okafor’s rumoured issue with the dreaded Okija Shrine which they claimed caused his death.

According to some of the indigenes, there was a mystery behind the abandoned mansion comprising many houses with expensive valuables kept inside which made robbers not to vandalise or tamper with those items.

There were even no security in place as the members of the immediate family including his wife and children have not returned to the mansion since he died some years ago.

Exotic properties inside the mansion such as golden chairs and tables, expensive fabrics, rugs, electronics, electrical appliances, abandoned vehicles and others worth millions of naira were said to have remained intact because robbers were avoiding the place.

Checks on why robbers have refuse to invade the place despite the fact that they would have made a fortune there going by the reported high rate of crime in the area especially in the immediate community.

Some of the residents explained that any robber who broke into the mansion may be in serious danger over the story that the Late Okafor had issue with the dreaded Okija shrine.

It was gathered then that Okafor might have attracted the anger of the deity and died due to his failure to come to the shrine to defend himself over a report by one of his kinsmen who reportedly dragged him to the shrine over business transaction which he alleged that Okafor had cheated him.

It could not be verified whether the shrine killed Okafor or not, despite the fact that some believed it happened.

However, it was gathered that if any person died as a result of any issue or altercation with the deity in Igbo land such like the Okija shrine, automatically all the properties belonged to that shrine unless certain rituals were performed.

The late Okafor also known as ‘Udu Bunch’ died in December 1999 after he had an accident around Okija town, few kilometers to his village when he was returning for Christmas and to celebrate his birthday.

His death came with controversies which led to the collapse of his immediate family and business empire. His wife, Nkechi reportedly abandoned the family and remarried.

The will ‘Ezego’ had prepared was not read because the lawyer who prepared the will one Barrister Barnabas Igwe was brutally murdered with his wife. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2017/10/unbelievable-see-shocking-things-we.html
