Good morning my great people. Please I need your advice and contribution at this point of my application o. US AVITS don show me shege this year but God de. So I made payment since NOV 8th 2024. After several calls and 4 tickets (which I dont believe was helpful anyway. I suspect they randomly just pick applications to attend to), I noticed my application progressed to the pre-approval stage where I was asked to upload my I-20 docx on Dec 16th 2024. I got an email to proceed to select an appointment date yesterday 27th Dec 2024. Spring 2025 session resumes Jan 13th 2025. I dont know (think) if i apply for Expedited Appointment now, i would be able to get a chance for interview before Jan 13th (I understand the chances are quite slim). If i request for school to defer my admission to Fall 2025 which would mean that I would be getting a new I-20 docx from the school, what do I do with it? As in, considering I already passed the pre-approval stage on AVITS portal and the dates in my current application has details for Spring 2025 admissions (Jan 13th 2025), at what point do I show/use my new I-20 docx ? Do I still go ahead to select a date - yesterday I saw Mar 2025, evening when I checked, say Apr 2025, this morning it is now in May 2025 LOL - and attend interview for the future date (if granted) then take the new I-20 docx to the interview or what do I do right now? Please help me here. Thank you. |
Consider yourself VERY lucky then. Goodluck with your interview. MiddyO: |
So you are on pre-approval now on the AVITS portal or you already booked appointment? My own payment was successful as well; the receipt says so and the AVITS support guys. They just said I need to wait for the system to process it. In your own case, what is your status on the portal right now? MiddyO: |
This is actually quite frustrating. At this point, I’m just relying on some luck tbh. Sigh! petershola: |
Really? That’s crazy then. So have you been able to book appointment now? kushercain: |
You are only wasting your resources as there is no guarantee that another payment would be confirmed on time let alone give you the opportunity for closer date. If you have already paid and yet to get confirmation of payment on AVITS portal, it is just to wait. omotayeye: |
Hello @Petershola, nothing is wrong. So far you have your payment receipt, just keep that. There is a waiting time after applicants have made payment where system would validate your payment status then updates your profile so you are able to proceed to book your appointment. In my case, I made payment since Nov 8th 2024 and till now, the system has not confirmed my payment status yet so I am still waiting. It is the unfortunate delay the new platform has subjected majority to. petershola: |
Paid since Nov 8th 2024. Till now, payment has not yet reflected on the AVITS portal for me to proceed to booking interview appointment. Sasatoboy: |
I am not sure this is why. I guess the new platform (AVITS) may be experiencing some technical issue which is preventing new users to create new profiles. Just wait a little bit and then try again. You can however, call their toll free line to speak with an online representative to ask them if there is alternative means: +234 201 343 8900 Follow the voice prompt with this option: press 1 then wait till another option set, then press 2; 4; 2; 3

|
Did you create another profile in the AVITS portal after they sent you a migration mail from the old portal or you just created the new profile? Ideally, according to them, they ought to migrate you themselves without you having to do that ursef. Otherwise, it would tell you duplicate profiles later on. somtosomto: |
Visit the official link here - https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html to generate ur payment order using the SEVIS ID provided in your I-20 docx. After that phase, download Pay4Me from playstore or whichever app store. Register and verify your identity. Select the option to pay SEVIS fee. It is very straightforward and the payment would be settled within 48hrs or even less. Goodluck kharemorgan: |
Depending on the school; some schools assign admission officer or counselor to applicants. Otherwise, you may have to check the admissions page for the school for relevant information on how to go about this or better still write the admission chair/coordinator (or whatever role the person plays on admission matters) or even the admission office on deferral request. Make a request for the deferral and state the reason for it to be visa application concerns as you have not been able to schedule an appointment to get a VISA. You can add that there was a major change to the VISA application portal in August 2024 and since then, there has been widely reported technical issues on the new portal as you know more than 20-50 other prospective applicants / students who are also affected. However, you are seeking the deferral to give you ample time to get an appointment pending when the new portal issues will be fixed permanently. You can go ahead to share screenshot from the portal too. Good luck. Ayodelefavour1: |
Call their support from the website https://www.xvisa.io/ctt?token=undefined&n=37a025ca-2132-44c5-98b4-b6e91e95e42e&wbid=ef804eb1-09b9-49ed-9802-17bba64ec9a4#login Follow the voice prompt like you want to change your user password, it will mention an option to speak with a support agent, choose it. Discuss this with the support person and ask direct questions like what has been done on the requests raised since, what is the current action at the moment, when should you expect a resolution? I understand you may have done this previously but try again as you may be lucky to speak with a support staff who actually understands ur plight, understands English and may be willing to assist. Majority of the support guys dont know what they are doing or better still put they are acting based on given instruction. Good luck. Podson: |
we full ground. no update on the portal yet for me too. Ghostlee4k0: |
When you log in, do the following: 1. Go to pending appointment. It should bring up that payment page. 2. Select bank to First Bank of Nigeria. (Do not generate another payment slip o) 3. Navigate to the next tab, insert the Ammentum Number there and select the date of deposit. When you click submit, it should notify on the top right corner that says: "Bank Details Updated successfully" From what other say here, it should ideally redirect you to appointment schedule but it just takes one back to generate another slip. However, according to @Lovaboiofficial, let's see if it would update after 2-3 days from now. Sasatoboy:

Sure! Those guys dont know jack sh*t. it is the same people that pick your call when you try using the contact option on the webpage. They are acting a script and wont help you beyond what is on their script. They are not receiving adequate support from their backend/technical support colleagues so yh... Here's the contact: +234 201 343 8900 curiousgeorgy: |
Many thanks, @nebularise I am beginning to think all these bottlenecks are all part of a strategic means to reduce the number of applications whilst making money off people. It doesnt make sense to think that this new platform was not tested and designed to be able to handle this load from users. Where this is the case, the support guys response should be better than what we currently experience. The front line guys basically are just acting a script; sometimes if not all, they dont even understand ur issue, they just read out the comms script and that's it. They tell you same thing each time you call and are not able to advise how long ur support would take for resolution to happen. I spoke with one today and after expressing my frustration, she just told me that the technical team is not equipped with sufficient resources to manage the stream of issues that meet them every day. Look at your case now, you made payment since Sept 20th and nothing till now; it is 2 months already. It may imply that they are just doing round-robin method to select which request/issue they attend to OR they can not or should not treat beyond X number of issues pertaining to payment every week/month etc as a strategy to minimize the current stream of applicants who wants interview/visa this period especially for Spring Admissions. Things like this arent just mere coincidence sometimes. Anyways, fingers crossed. nebularise: |
Good morning Chief...abeg help ur guy!!! Please I urgently need HELP on how to proceed at this point. The support agents for the new visa application portal are useless, they have not been able to advise or solve my problem since I opened a ticket. One was even pretending he couldnt hear me during a call session with him. I made payment since NOV 8 2024 and till now, I havent been able to proceed to book appointment on the portal. I got a successful payment notification and First Bank also sent me the receipt. I spoke with the customer support agent and she advised me to wait for the payment to be confirmed on the portal. It has been 10 days now since I made payment and nothing has changed. Or did I do something wrong? Please help me o...abeg. I am supposed to resume Jan 13 2025 for my program and I never get VISA

|

Did it tell you your account has been locked out/disabled? Ruby56: |
Dawllar:Try this out (It works!!!) "Trick to reset expired password on AVITS If the standard "reset password" option on the AVITS platform isn't functioning as expected for u here's an alternative method to attempt: 1. Attempt to Sign In: Go through the usual login process three times, even if your password is expired. This will intentionally trigger a lock on your account. 2. Trigger Password Reset After Lock: Once the system has locked your account, initiate a password reset. 3. Check Your Email: At this stage, you should receive an email with a link to reset your password. This method seems to work more reliably for some users, as the locked status may prompt the platform to send a password reset link. NB: all the old password reset link you sent in the past will all come. Just wait for a while until the last reset link comes so that way, you are choosing the most recent link which has not expired. |

What has been the order of the day on twitterNG today is the #HelloChallenge trend. Is it reality that love can never be lost considering the number of years of silence? The first few lines of the ADELE's number 1 track on the album 25, Hello is what the #HelloChallenge has been about. "Hello, it's me, I was wondering If after all these years you'd like to meet to go over everything They say that time's supposed to heal, yeah But I ain't done much healing" However, it turned sour for few of them, some got carried away, some tried it with their mum, whilst some with their bosses. See the twitpix below.

When someone you love passes away, there’s a vacuum created by their death. The pain runs deep and the emotions bubble over. Thirty-year old Samson Oladipo Egbedeyi passed away and will be laid to rest today, the 27th of October. On this day, that they have to do something no friend should ever have to do, Tomide Makanjuola, Oluwasanmi Ope-Ogungbo and ‘Tunde Ademuyiwa have written a tribute to the man they all fondly referred to as “Niggydip” We pray for fortitude to bear the loss. Please read the tribute below: *** 30 years ago, a legend was born! Samson Oladipo Egbedeyi aka Niggydip. He was the pride of the Egbedeyi clan. He lived a tremendously vibrant life. He was charming, passionate, ambitious, and the life of the party. Thick dark clouds of sorrow filled our hearts when the surreal news of his death on Monday, broke on Tuesday morning. Niggydip’s wedding next year was meant to be the biggest party ever, bringing all of us back together, but death chose to take him away from us. This keeps the questions coming. How? Why? What happened? What would the world be without Niggydip? These and many other questions flooded the minds of many with no answers, leaving us with pain, grief and the guilt of what we could have done if we knew he would leave so soon. These questions disturb us but Niggydip would not allow it eat us up, so he left with us memories that transcends time. Niggydip had an amiable mien. Back in school at the Faculty of Engineering Unilag, Niggydip had a unique connection to several. He did not care how “cool” we were, how smart or not we were, what we had or did not have. He was the loved in every clique. Niggydip taught us, inspired us, saved us, loved us, listened to us, defended us, protected us and made us laugh. Dipo wasn’t a clown, but he knew exactly what to say, what to do to get people out of their misery. Dipo had his stories. We called them dodo. Dodo because they were just so improbable that we sometimes can’t help but doubt them. At the same time, we knew that if there’s one person in the whole world that can be the subject of those stories, it’sNiggydip. Niggydip had an extraordinary capacity to care for others. Niggydip is that guy that while stuck in traffic, notices a danfo filled with sad looking faces, calls a boy hawking gala, and buys gala for all the passengers. He is the guy whose phone got snatched in traffic, jumps out of the car, runs after the thief, and starts shouting “Egbon e ma binu”, he hails the guy until he got his phone back. He is the guy who when asked for direction, allowed strangers in his car, drove them to the event they were heading to, and partied with them. In Lagos! He is the guy one meets once, and one never forgets. You can hardly find Niggydip sad. We all have our low moments but he never showed his. I guess he was just too busy helping others fix theirs. His drive powered by his impeccable confidence was next to none. It is amazing how he could be so confident without being cocky. He saw opportunities everywhere. Unlike most of us, he went after them. Niggydip is the person that showed up at an interview he was not even shortlisted for, and leaves with the job in his pocket. He was very successful, I mean very successful. He had an amazing career at Oando. At work, he was such a performer. Doubled well as a team leader and team player, he made work fun. He is the guy that showed up at a company end-of- the-year-event in a complete Iron Man costume. And he upped the ante the year after showing up as Fela Anikulapo Kuti, complete with the dancers and the saxophone. Niggydip was the guy with the world at his feet, who at 30, was already a legend. We can’t even claim to comprehend what his family is going through right now. We watched Niggydip’s dad gently rub his hands on his pictures. It was heartbreaking. Praz (Funsho) has somehow managed to keep it together, but only on the surface. Dayo has consoled some of us, when we could not keep the tears from flowing. Keji, your only sister, must be devastated. We shared Niggydip’s stories with his mom. For a moment, her spirit appeared lifted. Our thoughts are with Seye. We know Niggydip loved her. We pray that somehow, God grants his family the fortitude to bear this loss and the strength to move on. We will continue to talk about Niggydip for the rest of our lives. Niggydip achieved in 30 years, what mostwill not in 80. Because of that, we celebrate his life. Even as we celebrate, we mourn for today, for a year, for as long as it takes. We also know Niggydip is looking down from heaven, with a smile on his face, willing us to focus on being the best representation of ourselves and move on. So we will try, as we continue to share his stories, and as we continue tobe inspired by them. Heaven has called upon you Oladipo Samson Egbedeyi, leaving so many words left to say. Now it is too late, for your time has come, words unspoken; we are sure everybody has some. Regrets and wishes are probably there too, but lasting forever are memories of you. However, henceforth we shall choose to speak of you in present tense as you remain forever in our hearts. Forever in our hearts is not just a cliché for us. It is a creed we know everyone who ever knew him will keep. www.bellanaija.com/2015/10/27/niggydip-forever-in-our-hearts-read-the-emotional-tribute-by-the-friends-of-oladipo-egbedeyi-as-he-is-laid-to-rest/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed |
