The difference between a university and a polytechnic is widely known, likewise the difference between BSc and HND.


Even though it is believed that everyone has a chance to be successful no matter what you do or the level of education you could attain, but there are some facts that should be emphasized, not for criticism or hate, but for us all to get educated in some ways. So right here are some 9 Reasons Why University BSc Is Better Than Polytechnic HND


1 Quality of Lecturers – [/b]You cannot just compare the experience and expertise of lecturers they have in a university setting to that of the polytechnic. Most university lecturers are professors and PhD holders with years of teaching coupled with experience to show for it. In fact, most Master degree holders in some universities are mere assistant lecturers.

This is not so for our polytechnics where most of their so-called ‘experienced’ lecturers are mere BSc holders who are university graduates. Most rectors of polytechnics are Msc holders, though not all, only a few are PhD holders. At times, even corps members lecture in some polytechnics.


[b]2 Qualification For Entrance – The qualification for entrance into the university is more strict compared to that of polytechnics. Obviously, JAMB UTME cut off for universities is somewhat high, at times, this leads to frustration of jambites, which makes them resort to polytechnics.

[b]3 Funding From Government – [/b]Nigerian Universities are much more funded by government than polytechnics. Funding is one of the ways to determine the quality of an institution.

If you notice, the government and the media in general pay more attention to the demand of ASUU over ASUP. Though, some universities might decide to play narrow with the funds.

There was drama on Tuesday, 22nd of May, 2018, in Minna, Niger State, after a 4-year -old pupil of a private school identified a 19-year-old Victor Opute, as the one who allegedly molested her in school on Friday, Punchng reports.

It was gathered that Opute lured the little girl to the school toilet where he sexually molested her. The incident leaked to the school authorities when the girl was seen crying. .. She later narrated what happened to one of the officials of the school. The school officials, it was learnt, assembled all the male staff for screening to identify the culprit behind the assault. .

An undisclosed police man on wednesday night shot down a commercial motorcyclist to death along water works road that leads to Ebonyi State University, CAS Campus for refusing to give him N50 bribe.



A witness to the incident disclosed to ebsucommunity.com that the okada man who is at his 20s was carrying a female passenger when he was flagged down by the police man.

“When they stopped him, they demanded for their usual N50 but he gave them N20 and wanted to drive off when one of them opened fire on him. The bullet shattered his head and he died instantly,” said the witness. Hence, there was no information on whether the female passenger was also hit by the bullet


Another source said, " He just dropped his friennd and coming back, the police man stopped him and demaded N50 from him but he refused, on trying to escape, the police man cocked and shoot the man on his forehead, close to the eyes" he said.
The incident has caused an uproar this morning along the road as residents came out in mass to the scene attempting to mob any police man at sight.

But a new detachment of police officers arrived immediately to restore peace and tranquility at the scene.
