@LadyG, please be sure that Ginger is okay for sperm motility. I ready a study that stated that if taken over time it affects sperm motility.

@Wehnby I did mine abroad. House Please we need a good OBGYN that does fibroids operation if anyone can refer.

@ MercyofGod peace be with you. Welcome to our trend and may your stay here be short.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 5:13pm On Oct 26, 2014
@Wehnby it depends on the size and location of the Fibroids. Yes any surgical procedure is dangerous especially if you are going to go under general anesthesia(if they will put you to sleep). But if the fibroids is of a remarkable size or poorly located then you need to remove it. Because when you do conceive it could cause a miscarriage (God forbid though).

I did a Fibroids operation in 2010, because i had a fibroid that was blocking one of my tubes. The trick is to find a doctor that a couple of people have used successfully. Again please if you can, do an open surgery as I know a lot of people that did it Laparoscopically that are have issues with miscarriage.

However if the Fibroids is not too big you can successfully do the IVF without removing it. See a good IVF doctor so they can do an ultra sound and look at it and tell you what to do. As per the Low Sperm count, supplements like Folic Acid and Zinc might help to boost the sperm count.

My dear all the best and welcome to the trend and may your stay here be fruitful and short.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 4:36am On Oct 23, 2014
@chiclasweet My dear this is somewhat what a normal analysis should look like. Note that the Values are different in some. The the way they measured the Concentration is different. But I am sure your doctors will tell you better when you meet with him on Monday.

Total Volume- 25 mililiters

Sperm Count- 40 million to 300 million is the normal range for the number of sperm per milliliter. Counts below 10 million are considered poor; counts of 20 million or more may be fine if motility and morphology are normal.

motility-50% or more should be active

Morphology-At least 30% of cells should be of normal shape

Color: grey opalescent

Concentration should be >20million/ml

LadyGuinivere:
Thank u mommies. God bless u immensely.
Me too bought DHEA and CoQ10 to optimize egg quality before next ivf
But do you have issue with egg quality and quantity? DHEA should only be taken if its absolutely necessary.

@itissettled it could make PCOS worse.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 5:53pm On Oct 20, 2014
@ Celan Lol I missed your message above. You wrote inside mine grin anyway I sent you an email. If you have access to Amazon they have it all there. If you have access to the US any Walgreens, Walmart or CVS or any pharmacy should have most of them apart from the Royal Jelly and Wheat grass. Make sure the DHEA is micronized.

@ Oluwabankemi you can use pregnacare conception. Or any one as long as they have Folic acid 400mcg-800 and Ferrous sulfate.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 5:50am On Oct 20, 2014
@LadyG it is well. God will perfect all that is yours at his own appointed time. All we have to do is prayer and patience.

@Olubankemi where did you go? I hope you are doing well. Asprin is used to make your blood thinner which will invariable increase blood flow to the reproductive area. And Progynova is used to thicken the lining of the Uterus.

pretty2014:
Good day to beautiful mamas, i am new in this forum. My own case is unexplained infertility, thou i had done iui in one of this specialist hospital at ikeja mid last year for three circle but it was not successful. Am just afraid to go for the ivf, meanwhile i don't even want to go back to the hospital that i did the iui again. Can the house suggest a place for me around ikeja that is very good in ivf. My sisters i need your prayer, support and words or encouragement. Thank you all.

@suremanpatriot, Romanticandy, Calaharry" Be very careful and do not let the wrought of God descend on you. Please desist from causing confusion here now before its too late. This is a group of women trying to find solution to their issues and I dont know what a young boy like you hopes to benefit from causing confusion here. Stop and desist or else our God will give you something to worry about.

May God of peace return and rule onto this forum. May he remove and destroy any negative spirit from this forum. Amen.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 4:09pm On Oct 16, 2014
lol @romanticcandy......" i believe" is not an attack, its the way I understand the literature. Please back your statement with medical science. ICSI is using a needle to inject a single sperm into the egg. Traditional IVF is throwing all the eggs and the sperm together and the sperm that first gets to the eggs fertilizes them. Again ICSI is about 200k more expensive so how are we saving money with ICSI? I am not here to fight or attack anyone and believe me this is not an attack its just correcting a wrong statement and all you have to do is do your research and prove me wrong.

So what you are telling me is that if she has 15 or 20 eggs retrieved she should go ahead and ICSI all 15? When she has no male factor issue. Do you know that a blocked tube can be opened with a simple procedure as HSG? My dear this forum did a lot for me. Brought me back from months of crying and depression so I feel a duty to make sure all literature here are correct even if I have to spend my precious time doing research on a statement that doesn't sound right to me.

If you feel offended i am sorry about that but the above statements are facts and not aimed at attacking anyone.
HealthRe: 2 Miscarriages And Now Pursuing IVF by Ebube2014: 7:57am On Oct 16, 2014
Nooooooo!!!! Darln unless you are telling me that the cause of the miscarriage is that you and your husband are not compatible and the IVF is with egg donor. If not its still the same. Find out why you body is rejecting the babies and try and fix that. And please get a second opinion.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 7:55am On Oct 15, 2014
@Celan Hmmmmnnn. your levels are high oooo I must tell you and this simply means that even if you ovulate your eggs will most probably be of poor quality. Mine was 21 last year and after series of medications it came down to 18 which is still high as anything more than 10 is considered high. You need to get on DHEA (micronized), Coq10, Fish oil, Melatonin, Vit C, Wheatgrass, Royal Jelly, Vitex etc and if you can Accupunture and Yoga. They are still some other supplements but I took all these plus of course your prenatal supplements.

And its not just cut down weigh, more like you need to exercise so that they will be more blood flow to your reproductive system.

But then again have you considered egg donor? With a donor as long as your womb is okay your chances are as good as the persons age. Discuss with your DH though because the above supplements will take some time to work and the decrease might not be significant enough for a change. Above all Pray, there is nothing God cannot do.

@Ebube my dear sister i wonder what is happnn to me, i hv never miss my period let alone miss carriage hmmmmm. I hv regular Af but hv nt done hormonal profile.pls which cycle day is ok for hormonal easy.thank all
Its best done on day 3 of your cycle. Please its very important that you do it to know where you are. If there is an imbalance it could manifest in many ways, from not ovulating to ovulating poor quality eggs which will hinder conception. Are you sure everything is okay with your DH?

HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 8:33am On Oct 13, 2014
@suremanpatriot
"Now blocked tubes is why you qualify to do ivf. But this time around you do a more advanced ivf called icsi, though more expensive"

I believe this statement is not correct. You do not do ICSI because of blocked tubes, the main reason for ICSI is male factor infertility. For blocked tubes surgeries may be performed to remove adhesions, dilate a tube( tube flushing) or create a new tubal opening. However, this is rarely done, as pregnancy rates are usually better with IVF. For hydrosalpinx, removal of your tubes (salpingectomy) or blocking the tubes close to the uterus can improve your chances of pregnancy with IVF.

@Isibuttercup nd other mama pls advice me oo.i hv fibriod nd the gyn did not sujest sugery though big nd patent tubes, this is my yr 2 in marriage am above 30yrs.
Please get a second opinion. If you are in Lagos try and visit some of these great doctors that are mentioned on the forum. Fibroids should not prevent you from conceiving unless its blocking your tubes. However it might cause miscarriage after you have conceived because the space will not be enough for the baby. See another gynae if there is no improvement with the one you have.

@modaofnations; there are a couple of soaps that are non scented. I know dove has non scented for sensitive skin but I don't know where you can find it in Nigeria. They are also a lot of other brands of non scented soap and lotions.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 11:32am On Oct 06, 2014
@ modaofnations

Yes you can sterilize and use again. Just wash them out with hot water & a gentle (no dye, no perfumes) soap or then again just squeeze a teeny bit onto DH's stuff and fashi the applicator.

modaofnations: @Godmercies; thank u my dear. I just wanted d devil 2 know am stil in charge of my MOOD. he can't steal my JOY. Talking about dis alcohol stuff, I asked a question previously if there's anytin one can tek 2 increase/enhance vaginal mucous as I ve dis issue of vaginal dryness & ve noticed alcohol enhances it 4 me. I'd made complains b4 & 2 difrent gynae told me a bottle of beer b4 bd can't affect conception as 70% of unwanted pregies occur wen ladies get drunk esp at parties though am skeptical as I try 2 avoid anytin controversial. Is der any drug dat can help?
@ Blendy77; its been a while. I know it's tasking taking care of 2 big boys plus work. but The Lord is ur strength. How are they? We missed u and now dat u're back, I'll be delighted 2 hear frm u concerning d above question I asked. God bless us all.
My dear most lubricants for dryness also kill sperm. The only one I know that is sperm friendly is Pre Seed. http://www.preseed.com " You can check it out at the above site.

modaofnations: Hello everyone, d house is 2 quite. Pls experienced mamas I need urgent answer 2 dis. I want 2 know if it is ok 2 be on Pregnacare conception together with Omega 3 fish oil. Will I be taking 2 much vitamins by dis combination together with d folic acid am already on. Thanks
Yes you can take the 3 because they all have different ingredients and are taken for different purposes. As for folic Acid 800mcg a day is not too much. Pregnacare has 400mcg so if u decided to take another 400mcg its okay. Its a water soluble vitamin so your body takes the one u need and then the rest is excreted via urine.

Zinachimdindu: Thank you mumof4. Your post has really gladdened my heart. Starting ICSI at nisa premier premiere Abuja in a few days. Its my first attempt and I asking God to grant me same success that others are testifying using same hospital.

My major challenge now are the injections. I am so scared and have changed my procedure to a date that is in a few dates. Ordinary, I don't take injection and even taking my blood samples for simple test like malaria is so difficult for me.

Please I need everyone s support ,encourage and prayers. I will also need experience s from sisters after embroyo transplant. Were you able to go to work. What things do I avoid please.

Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend.
My dear dont worry about the injections. Just think of your twins and hold/pinch the skin on your abdomen tightly and it wont be that bad. The moment will pass quickly. And we hold you and everyone cycling in our prayers.

moma2: I started my TTC journey in 2010,HSG showed one sided hydrosalpinx and one patent tube.I also have an ovarian cyst on the same side.I did fibroid surgery last year, did tubal flushing there after(hydrointubation) and was placed on ijnectables(hmg) for 3months with no result. I was advised to go for ivf ,which I did in may this year.I didnot respond well for my age as I only produced 3eggs of which only one was fertilsed.hubby sfa is very good. I had only one day3 embryo transferred (grade b). To cut the story short I had a bfn.it was as if my whole world was coming to an end.words cannot explain the emotional trauma I went through. Am now back on my feet to try another cycle but I don't know whether to do it in the same hospital or try another hospital.the last one was done in shepherd hospital warri. Pls I need ur sincere advise.has anyone gotten a bfp in shepherd hospital? Is there anyone with similar condition that has gotten a bfp? Thank you sisters in the lord
My dear it is well. Before you decide to use another clinic why did you not respond well to treatment? What protocol did you use and whats your age bracket? The truth is that most doctors will tell you that the first IVF treatment might not work. Its mostly because there are still trying to learn how your body will respond to certain protocols. Whats your FHS level and AMH? That too will determine if there will be problem with egg quality and quantity which hopefully can be treated with some food and medications.

But at the end of the day it is still God.
