@Oleayo22 This is a sisters testimony as well.

mazita2:
Hi Everyone,

Been following this post for 2 years but wanted to complete my cycle before commenting. Dr Ikenna Emeka of Olive medical is without a doubt the most professional doctor I have met at least in Nigeria. When I went through my IVF cycle with him, there were a few key things important to me: expertise of the doctor, medical facilities and personalized care as each patient history and case differs. Olive and Dr Emeka provided all . We were given detailed fact sheets and information at each stage of the process, we were even given a tour of the facility and most of all he was always accessible and professional in his dealings. Not once were we asked for money even though we took the drugs on the first visit but did not start the process till 4 months later as we kept believing it would still happen naturally. All the nurses and staff, completely pleasant. Even though we were not successful, if I have to do another round, I will definitely go back there.

Any Dr that guarantees you success in IVF is a fraud. It is GOD only that gives children, all they can do is use medical science to assist the process but the final outcome is still in God's hands. So for those undecided, investigate these clinics, pray, be sure both of you are committed to the process, prepare your body 3 months ahead (diet, folic acids, lifestyle changes etc), ensure all other medical conditions are ruled out and most of ALL, have FAITH for God says there will be non barren in the land.

Soon we will be here to share my testimony.

@Oleayo22 I know someone that used him last month, IVF with egg donor but unfortunately got a BFN. He did a 2 day transfer for her though which seemed a bit weird. She paid N988 for IVF plus about N370 or so for the egg donor. A lot of people got a BFP from him on this trend but I dont know who has lately. All the best dear and Gods speed.

@annibro Please take your prenacare conception as well as your Folic acid.
Acupuncture is when they stick needles on your skin which makes you calm and relaxed. If its vibrating thats massage and it will work before but not after egg transfer. Life Lady G says u need to be relaxed and calm after transfer.
Immediately after egg transfer pineapple core helps with implantation. And then pray and wait for your miracle.

@phummy1821 Welcome to our trend. Just keep praying and wait patiently. It is well with you.

@1dafuGod if its small I dont see what the problem is unless it is blocking your tubes. If you need to remove it then the alternative is Laparascopy however this procedure has to be done by someone that knows what he/she is doing and with a lot of experience. Most good doctors prefer to do open surgery if you are still planning to have kids as the during the Lap procedure they could be some scaring which could cause miscarriage. It is well with us dear.

@dafuGod Yes Fibroid can grow back. Mine did but as God will have it its not big. I just try to keep away from diary product and red meat as it enhances the growth. Pele.... How big is your and I hope its in a good location that way you really dont need to do anything to it.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 3:17pm On Feb 16, 2015

HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 5:24am On Feb 05, 2015
@henmaris, patience and prayer with good works conquers every problem. Keep faith. It is well.

However where did the the fibroids come from? Does it mean they missed it earlier or what. Cycst can come quickly especially with hormonal fluctuations or with the meds but Fibroids? huh Pele but if you have any doubts seek a second opinion or what explanation did the doctor give?

Please stop crying. I know its hard because me sef dey cry for here but try and stop. This too shall pass and we will celebrate our twins/triplets.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 3:58pm On Jan 30, 2015
@LadyG Biko Biko you need to relax. You cannot be taking menopur and be stressed and be crying. Please dont worry about the armed robber doctors. We go leave them for God hand. As of hubby's comment no be today. Just smile wait on the Lord. We have heard all kinds of statements from them but they are men and thats the way they are wired. Just smile and be the great wife you are. It will all end in praise. We will continue to thank God for providing us the means to solve our problems.

Jisike as we pray for you and wait on your BFP with triplets (2 boys and a girl).

@Beauty it is well. Amen to your prayers for us. It will end in praise.

@joyfulbabies Yes you should stop baby Aspirin between 10 and 12 weeks. You need to take your prenatal vitamins till you give birth. You can take the Folic Acid, vitamin C (500mg) and Vitamin B in addition if need be but ask your doctor for a prenatal vitamin that has everything in it that way you will only take one pill a day. Remember to drink plenty of water, eat well, rest and sleep well.

Congrats again and Gods blessings.

@joyfulbabies (Please if there is any other drug(s) that I can be taken apart from folic acid, Bco and Vitamin C that they give in hospital through out 9months, let)

Do you mean you take those in addition to your prenatal vitamins or just those? My other advice is if you feel funny or have any problems and you are not comfortable with the way your OB doctor treats it always call your IVF doctor. They are less stingy with giving out the right med because he would have had that experience already, but if everything is going on fine as we already know it would then no need.

Congrats and God bless you and your baby.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 3:47pm On Jan 22, 2015
@Ebi2009 a friend did IUI at Bridge Clinic (Port Harcourt) and got positive and she paid about 150k with the medications included. I think IUI in most clinics in Lagos is around that price.

I dont know the best hospital for it and 1 personally believe its how lucky you are and if God says its time. And again what the reason for the IUI is. I have done about 5 IUI and all came out negative. But my case is unexplained infertility so basically its hard for me to get pregnant.

My friend that got positive was at her 3rd attempt in same bridge that God smiled at her. Her daughter is a year old now.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014:
@joyfulbabies most doctors will advise you to stop taking the cyclogest at 12 weeks because after then your placenta takes over the production of the progesterone needed for pregnancy.

Cyclogest (progesterone) is supposed to be produces by the ovaries but because the ovaries is kind of shut down during down regulation, they dont produce progesterone or dont produce enough, thus the need for the cyclogest but by 10 -12 weeks the placenta takes over and thats why they usually tell you to stop the progesterone at that time.

For more reassurance you can ask them to check your blood to make sure the levels are where there are supposed to be.

Apart from side effects such as bloating, constipation its almost safe in the first trimester for baby and mother. I dont know what happens afterwards.

There is no special treatment for IVF patient after the first trimester. The same reason you stop taking the Cyclogest. The placenta takes over and then its up to God at that point.

My dear relax and enjoy your pregnancy. God has already answered just keep faith.

@viviparity how have you been. Long time. Just chill and take it a day at a time. Its will all work out with patience and prayer. Like lady G said treat the prolactin and the PCOS. If you are on the heavy side loose some weight and do some exercise. But just be patient and keep faith. God is working on it....

LadyG and Gingerspice, you cannot be depressed please. We all have to be strong for each other. Remember God is God. HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 3:39pm On Dec 03, 2014
@beauty4ashes remember the Folic acid 50mg. Its very most important with Zinc. Please do not despair. God will perfect all in his time. There is a reason for every difficulty or sadness that we encounter. Keep faith, be patient and most importantly take care of yourself to see the end. It always ends well, all will come to pass.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 2:06am On Dec 03, 2014
@beauty4ashes; My dear sister it is well. The good Lord will perfect all at his time. Zinc supplement if taken once a day for like a month with folic acid should help. 66mg and 5mg respectively. Pele.

@Olubankemi How are you doing? I sent you an email.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014:
@modaofnations no vex abeg....been very busy...No I dont think so, I know you can ask for local anesthesia if the thing they need to take out is not much, but if its much they have to put you under general anesthesia (GE) and monitor you for bleeding and all. Again it all depends on the doctor but ask him like you know what u are talking about. Even if he insists on the GE ask for the minimal dose. "Tell them your great grand mother whom you look like a lot only takes minimal because one time they gave her full dose and she almost didn't wake up" grin

Again if you are not in a hurry and you feel there is nothing wrong with you and have extra cash to spare ask for Sonohysterography (SHG). When i was planning for my last IVF the doctor told me I needed hysteroscopy, and they do it under GE but because I was afraid I asked for SHG first. He was a bit upset because its like doing same thing twice and paying twice. But I just felt that i dont need it. After praying I did the SHG and everything was good. grin. SHG is done without anesthesia and it takes only like 10 mins. The difference is that its just a better view of your Uterus and Hysteroscopy is viewing and repairing at the same time.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 1:35pm On Nov 27, 2014
@beauty4ashes yes you can take Cataflam or Ibuprofen before. I Remember they gave me Ibuprofen when I did mine and i did not feel a thing but we are all different.

Olubankemi I hope everything is going as planned. We are praying for u and all. This journey will end in 2015 in Jesus name. With plenty babies.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 3:00am On Nov 26, 2014
@ Stella please call Dr Emeka at 08032011536. They do hysteroscopy and most IVF clinics should do the procedure as well though I dont know how much. He does AMH as well and hormonal essay. Just a bit more expensive. Pele.

@Olubankemi yes you can has a Fibroid without feeling it both inside and outside depending on the size. Its only when its really big that you feel it when rub your belly. However Ultrasound will detect it at any size.

Please, Biko when anyone wants to do any procedure and there is an option of doing it without anesthesia please no matter how painful it is do without anesthesia. The pain usually goes away after a while. However if the anesthesiologist gives a tad more than necessary there is that small chance of not waking up which is not our portion. When doing HSG just relax as much as you can it might help with the pain.

@doublefavour we pray for you and God will grant you your heart desires. Amen.

Gods strength to all my people.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 7:08pm On Nov 09, 2014
@beauty4ashes Amen ooohhh.

@Glo2glory Aspirin should be taken from when you start cycling till about 10weeks pregnant depending on your doctor. It will helps prevent miscarriage in some women with clotting issues so that's why they advice to take till almost end of first trimester.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 12:50pm On Nov 09, 2014
@LadyG thanks. I just did.

@ Venuss how are u doing? Longest time.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Ebube2014: 10:31am On Nov 09, 2014
@Olubankemi Please Aspirin is very important. Like Lady G said it helps with blood circulation to your reproductive system. Basically the same thing it does for old people. Its important because there will be more blood circulation to your ovaries which will mean better egg quality and quantity and also a thicker and a healthier Uterus. So please go right now and get some and start taking once a day.
Again is well woman a prenatal vitamin? Please make sure it has Folic acid and Ferrous Sulfate.

@henmaris it is well. Please make sure you get a lot of rest and pray. God will do it for u. We will keep praying for you.

@Lady G biko what is womb scratching? Is it Hysteroscopy.
