Christianity Etc › Mary In Islam by ecoli(op): 1:16pm On Jun 29, 2013
Mary the mother of Jesus is considered one of the most righteous woman in Islamic tradition. Mary is mentioned more in the Quran the whole new testament. She is the only woman mentioned by name in the Quran. Mary is seen in Islam as the greatest woman of all times. The Quran stated that Jesus(Isa) was the result of 'virgin birth'. The Quran also confirmed her Immaculate conception; her being pure, free from sin. "Behold! The angel said: 'O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and PURIFIED the'- chosen thee above the women of all nations".-Quran, Sura 3(Al Imran), ayah 42. The nineteenth chapter of the Quran is named after Mary. In Sura 19(Maryam), ayah 20, Mary asks Gabriel how she will be able to conceive when no man has touched her. She was told that all things are possible with God. In sura 66(At-Tahrim), ayah 12, the Quran states that Mary remained PURE while God allowed a life to shape itself in her womb. Muslim women look upon her as an example and are known to visit both muslim and christian shrines of Mary. A bath in Jerusalem used by Mary is now visited by barren women. Some plants acquired sweet smell when touched by Mary e.g Maryammiah and Kaff Maryam. Mary's Titles: Mary is honoured with the following titles in Islam. -siddiqah: she who confirms the truth or she who has faith. -sajidah: she who prostrates to God in worship. -Tahirah: she who was purified. -Mustapha: she who was chosen. -Sa'imah: she who fasts. -Raki'ah: she who bows down to God in worship. -Qanitah: One with constant submission to God, absorbed in prayer and invocation. The Quran and the Bible seem to agree on Marian theology. Therefore, let us give honour to whom it is due.

Man you are good. That man has not created jobs, he squanders state money on nonsense projects and yet boast doing what the people have never seen.
Eko Ile: apabio is promising?

A crooked and lawless election rigger is promising?

A bad and corrupt financial manager dishing state money on frivolous nonsense like luxury jeeps for celebrities and sending people to dubai is promising?

A man whose budget is the largest in Nigeria with little or nothing to show for it?

A man who is using dummy Tropicana project to loot the state? N75 billion abandoned project?

May God help Nigeria or maybe I should say you already corrupt leaders of tomorow..

Christianity Etc › Re: Maundy Thursday - The Beginning Of Easter Triduum by ecoli(m): 2:05pm On Mar 28, 2013
All these days are not mentioned in my Bible(KJV), Triduum or what, all i know is that Christ came and died for my sins. c'est fini. wink
The whole event as narrated are documented in the bible. Why don't you try to be open to learning, scrutinise what u heard with the bible. The unexamined life is not worth living. Doubt all things, but with the intention of establishing the truth.
