I made a First Class in microbiology with CGPA of 4.73.i applied to study medicine at OAU via direct entry but I wasn't given admission. If admission is strictly on merit, then I am forced to ask what are the criteria?.

Make una answer dis person well naa. Dara, u really had a good CGPA. But d thing is, u have to go to the school to find out really what happened. I heard OAU Health Sciences admits only 20 students for Medicine via direct entry (that includes those coming in thru Jupeb, others that may have finished from anoda university[like u] and also some other programmes). They admits the best 20 out of all these set of people. It is done in a particular way sha. Eg 5 from jupeb, 5 from graduates from other universities etc. So, probably dere were 5 people or more who had more than ur CGPA(although u were all in first class) that also applied for medicine in OAU. So I really think u should go to the school and ask more questions at the College of Health Sciences Specifically. They will listen to u and answer u well.

I actually know someone that was admitted into the Deparment of Physics though his Jamb combination was Biology, chemistry and physics. And the surprising thing dere is.... It was OAU that placed him dere because he got in thru pre-degree. He never filled in for it. He was actually gunning for Pharmacy but due to his low score he found himself there. Engineering physics and Physics are both in the faculty of science. Had it been the former was in the faculty of Technology, it would ave been a diffent story entirely. So I really think this guy is good to go as long as he has credit and above in his O'level mathematics.

Adetalo, no wait 4 2nd list ooo... Go join the PD programme. Because the 2nd list can even come out february next year.

. I've done mine already. Well coloured, both Candidate copy and institution copy. I was charged by the cyber cafe N500 ( N200 for each coloured print out and N100 for d 30 mins I spent online). Dem don chop una money ooo undecided

Not all faculties include PD in dier Merit list But Health sciences do. It depends on d faculty.
