hey, I once had the same issue with my device, just backed up the files on my memory card and formatted it, so when I inserted it back, it was all gone, you can try the same and let's see how it goes.

it has every detailed instructions as to installing gingerbread(android) on your device,

P.S the 'Nitdroid' has bugs present still can't make calls but you can run android games and apps,

Thanx chief, guess the only stress would be knowing the size of a memory card to pick up, cos I really have stuff loaded on my device.

But pls does the Nitdroid run alongside the maemo os on the phone, i mean to say since the Nitdroid can't make calls does it mean if i'm on Nitdroid I wont receive calls; wld both Maemo and Nitdroid function simultaneously or does one disable the other?

Plus at what fee and where can I get this installation done for me cos I do not have Wi-Fi connection to run this process myself.

I av always been proud of my device. But lately I av not been able to delete picures. It shows me 'cannot delete read-only file'.
So I wonder how the pictures I took wit the device camera became read-only.
Any help?
I also intend installing the Android on my device, any gray areas?

Seriously U wont get the same treatment from an N900 as U got off an N97.
The difference between these two is the difference in platform-Java and Linux.
But for all apps that wld run on your N900, pls visit http://maemo.org/

Hi Salix,
Nice to meet an N900 co-owner. The device is sure a wonder to use once you understand it. It is quite different from other fones cos it does not run on the Java platform but Linux (U myt already know this) thus it does not accept applications from other fones by mere transfer.
But U can download all you want once your fone is connected to the internet-either by WLAN or MTN data connection. U then open the application manager, then tap on Download. U can then choose from the Menu.
On my fone presently I have the FM radio app, MMS and so on, all downloaded, not transferred.
Also, U can download various games apps from Ovi too.
Lemme know if U find these lines helpful or sth else U'd lyk to share, cos me go learn, cheers

Sorry 'bout the road mishap n ur car too.
I av always loved the way you have started and contributed to discuss that border on Audi as a car brand.
This is quite rare in Nigeria; I mean to find guys who speak good of Audi cars. All you hear is complaints on cost of maintenance, prone-to-fault nature of the car etc.
I av a friend who his cousin, a car dealer refused bluntly to sell him any A4, reason being that A4 cars would give my friend series of problems. And that such faults are not cheap to handle.
So being an Audi lover myself (cos I really no dig Japs cars) what will you likely tell any Audi user in Naija as regards such myth.
