Gal Pissetzky, the legal representative of suspected Internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi, has said the suspect is on his way to California, United States of America, for trial.

He told The PUNCH on Wednesday night that Hushpuppi had not been released as being speculated in some quarters.

Pissetzky, a Chicago lawyer, also noted that he was still his lawyer.

“He has not been released and I am still his lawyer. He is on his way to California. Not everything you see on court documents is accurate.

“Just because the jail record says ‘released’ does not mean he has been released. He is being transferred to California,” he told our correspondent on the phone.

A 19-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly threatening to release nude pictures of veteran Nigerian singer, Queen Salawa Abeni on social media.

According to report, the boy who claimed to be a National Diploma Holder of Yaba College of technology was arrested by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

The suspect, Olufowoke Oladunjoye Emmanuel, a resident of Brentfield Avenue, Peace Estate, Magboro, Ogun State, was picked up by the Decoy Team of Rapid Response Squad last week Thursday after three days of monitoring him.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu had in the wake of *the* attempt by an unknown individual to blackmail Alhaja Salawa Abeni sometime in April 2020, directed the Commander, Rapid Response Squad, DCP Olatunji Disu to fish out the suspect.

After technical diagnosis of the complaint, the Decoy Team narrowed down on the suspect few days later.

Sources close to the team disclosed that the suspect couldn’t be picked because of the prevalence of Covid 19.

The suspect in his statement to the police confessed to have been the mastermind behind the ploy to publish some nude pictures of Waka Queen in exchange for money, adding that he was alone in the scheme.

The suspect, a 2017/2018 Electrical Engineering student of Yabatech, disclosed that he saw the nude pictures in a memory card which he picked up on the floor in Yabatech sometime in November 2019.

He added that after downloading the nude photographs of Salawa Abeni on his phone, he picked up her mobile number from her Instagram page.“On 1st of April, 2020, I chatted her up and also called her after sending few of the photos to her online.

My intention was to negotiate with her for few bucks and for me to destroy the photographs.

I thought everything was going on fine until the following day when I heard the news of the blackmail over the radio. I was with my mother. She was even cursing the blackmailer unknown to her that I was the brain behind it.

I immediately sneaked out, destroyed the memory card and threw my mobile phone and SIM card into nearby wetland in Magboro. Since then, I never mentioned it to anyone and called Madam Salawa Abeni about it again”, he disclosed.

An angry man who could not control his temper after catching his wife and another man red-handed in a hotel room beats him up.

Reports say the lady had gone to the hotel with her lover, and after some minutes, her husband arrived at the scene unexpectedly.

A viral video shows her attempting to calm her husband’s anger down but he kept on yelling at both of them, especially his wife’s lover who he slapped several times despite kneeling down to beg him.

Interestingly, when the angry man said “I have the right to kill you”, the trespasser acknowledged it saying “I understand” but his utterance rather infuriated the man more, making him inflict more slaps on him.

A Russian nurse was disciplined for wearing only lingerie beneath a transparent protective gown while treating coronavirus patients. She is now afraid of losing her job after her images went viral.

But her colleagues and doctors as well as politicians in Russia have rushed to her defence, accusing hospital chiefs in the city of Tula of failing to provide her with a suitable PPE for working in a coronavirus ward.


It was reported that the medic, who has not been publicly identified reportedly told her bosses that she was ‘too hot’ wearing the uniform and didn’t realise the PPE was so transparent.

The revealing picture was taken by a COVID-19 patient in a male ward in Tula, south of Russian capital Moscow.

The incident happened because there was a shortage of medical clothing to wear under the protective gown, she said.

‘In general we are supplied with PPE, but from time to time we run out of something.’

Nurse Oksana Drybo, from the same hospital, said it was important to understand ‘why this happened’.


There were insufficient supplies of disposable or reusable undergarments for nurses to wear as they treat coronavirus patients, she said.

She complained: ‘Medics do not like to be in transparent suits, but there are no others. And some do not have even transparent ones.’

Head of the Doctors’ Alliance, Dr Anastasia Vasilyeva, who has been critical of the Russian response to coronavirus, offered to back the nurse in appealing against her punishment.

‘If she turns to us, we will protect her,’ she said. ‘The fact that the costumes are of such a quality that do not meet the standards is a problem for management, not the nurse.

‘The picture shows that she was wearing some kind of plastic suit. We need to pay attention not to her [lingerie], but that the (gown) does not meet the necessary standards.

‘Firstly, a plague-proof costume is never transparent. ‘And it must be made of a completely different fabric.’

The news of a young lady who broke the internet yesterday, has been identified as Ene.

No fewer than 40 buildings, ranging from two- storey to four- storey buildings were razed in a tanker explosion in Upper Iweka, Onitsha.

Over 500 lock- up shops were also gutted by the fire along the Iweka street market leading to Ochanja and Menax market .

The incident was said to have started when a tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, otherwise known as petrol, descending from the Zik’s roundabout end of Onitsha -Enugu expressway, lost control around Toronto Hospital and veered off the service lane.

In Katsina State, northern Nigeria, Police uncovered and shut down another Islamic home, housing some children who were said to have been treated inhumanely in the Sabon Garin Daura area of Katsina North.

The building was discovered after some of the boys who had escaped embarked on a protest over allegations of violation of human rights at the centre.

Owned by one of the most famous and respected Islamic scholars in Daura, Bello Mai Almajirai, the centre is said to house people perceived to be outlaws from their parents and the society.

The escapees, numbering over 200, ran into the town, narrating how they were being maltreated, a development that sparked outrage in the community against the owner.

Briefing journalists at the center on Monday, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba, told reporters that preliminary investigation revealed that Malam Bello had been running the center for about 40 years and later left it in the hands of his son, Umar Bello.
