Rhapsody of Realities 9th December 2020 by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome – Don’t Keep Grudges

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16)

A minister once told a story of two women in his church who were quarrelling for a long time. One of them had a goitre for several years, and in spite of his prayers for her, it wouldn’t heal. The second woman couldn’t receive the Holy Spirit; she just couldn’t speak in other tongues, even though he had prayed for her several times to receive the Holy Spirit.

One Sunday morning, while he was sitting on the platform during the service, one of them arrived and found a seat, but soon as she noticed the very next seat was occupied by the other lady, she stood up to change her seat. At that point, the Pastor flounced off the platform to meet them, and said to them, “I’m not having any more of this; you either get together as sisters, or get out!” Suddenly, both women broke into tears and began to apologise to each other. Both of them were ready to take the blame, as they cried and hugged each other. Right there, before their eyes, the goitre disappeared, and the other woman was filled with the Spirit and speaking in tongues.

Evidently, those grudges had prevented the manifestations of these blessings in their lives for years, without them realizing it. All they needed to do was to admit their faults to each other. That’s what we read in our theme verse: “Confess your faults one to another….” It means admitting your faults; refusing to keep a grudge.

Even when you think you’re not the one at fault, it makes no difference; put the matter to rest. Do what the Word says. Don’t insist on your own way. The Bible says to rather allow yourself to be defrauded (1 Corinthians 6:7) than to hold a grudge against your brother or sister in the Lord.

CONFESSION
The Holy Spirit helps me control my emotions and attitude; I have an excellent character, and wherever I am, I create an atmosphere of love, kindness and grace. Consciously, I overlook the wrongs of others, because I’m the love child of a love God with His nature and character of love in me. Amen.

Rhapsody of Realities 8 December 2020 Daily Devotional by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome — He Dwells In You Now

( Tuesday 8 December 2020)

TOPIC: He Dwells In You Now

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” – John 14:3

Many don’t understand what Jesus was talking about in the scripture above. Some have speculated that He was talking about the Second Coming or the Rapture, but that’s not what He was talking about in that verse.

To understand what Jesus meant, you’ll have to stay in the context, and understand His message with your spirit, not with your senses.

He continued this interesting discourse till He got to the 16th verse where He said, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.”

The term “another Comforter” is the Greek phrase “Allon paraklēton,” meaning “another of same kind.” So, Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit at that point.

Then He said, “…ye know him; for he dwelleth with you (John 14:17). How did the Holy Spirit dwell with them at the time? Wasn’t He supposed to come on the Day of Pentecost? That tells us something. He wasn’t talking about the Holy Spirit alone; He was also referring to Himself!

To drive that point home, He went back to what He said in our theme verse, saying, “I will come again, and receive you unto myself…” Then in verse 18, He said, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” How and when was He going to come to them? In the 20th verse, He said, At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”

What day was He talking about? Evidently, He was talking about the day when the Holy Ghost comes!

So, when He said, “I will come to you,” He was saying, “I’ll come to you in the Holy Spirit!” And on the Day of Pentecost, He fulfilled that precious promise: “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4). He’s in you today in all His fullness. Praise God!

PRAYER:

Dear Precious Holy Spirit, thank you for your indwelling and abiding presence which has made me a victor and a master over circumstances. Thank you for strengthening my faith and stirring up courage in me to do the will of God and fulfil my calling. My success in life is guaranteed because I’m yielded to your guidance and leading always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Rhapsody of Realities 7th December 2020 Devotional Message By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
TOPIC: Faith for the Rapture

SCRIPTURE: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1 Corinthians 15:52)

Rhapsody of Realities 7th December 2020 Message:
At the Rapture, not everyone will hear the sound of the trumpet. It’ll be audible only to the Christians who died in Christ already and those alive at the time. Everybody else won’t hear it, because the sound of the trumpet would only be heard by faith. It’s not something you’re going to make an effort to hear, because as a Christian, you already live by faith. Everything about your life and your relationship with God is by faith; therefore, you’re going to hear it.

As read in our theme verse, the sound of the trumpet will happen faster than the snap of your finger. In a twinkling of an eye, we’re out of here, and suddenly, we’re in heaven. Every Christian ought to go at the rapture. It therefore means that anyone who doesn’t make the “first flight” hasn’t been living for the Lord.

Keep your faith alive, and live for the Master every day. Walk in love and in righteousness. Focus on getting others ready for the Rapture and into the Kingdom of God.

CONFESSION
Oh, what a day of rejoicing it’ll be when the Master shows up! Today, I walk in the light of His Word and of my salvation, engrossed in the pursuit of the expansion of His Kingdom, seeking, above all, the rule and reign of His Kingdom in the earth and in the hearts of men. Amen.

```The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen (2 Corinthians 13:14).```
Your highest calling as a Christian is fellowship with the Lord. Without fellowship, nothing you do on earth is esteemed in Heaven. To fellowship with Jesus is to fellowship with the fullest revelation of the essence of deity. But you see, you can’t fellowship with Him except through the Holy Spirit.
That’s why I often wonder why some people think they don’t need the Holy Spirit. There’s nothing more void than a life without the Holy Spirit, because He’s the author of life. Without Him, all you have will be darkness. He’s the One who gives you light and quickens the Word of God in your heart. God’s Word won’t mean anything to you without the insight and revelation the Holy Spirit gives.
The Bible says His words are life to those that find them (Proverbs 4:22); and the way to find them is through the Holy Spirit. Your desire should be to fellowship more with the Holy Spirit every day; I mean fellowship with participation, where you’re actively engaged with Him in a romance of righteousness.
The glorious thing about this is that, for all the successes that you achieve through the guidance and wisdom you receive as you fellowship with Him, He gives you the credit. Another beautiful impact of your fellowship with Him is that you become so mingled with Him that your body becomes His body; your tongue becomes His tongue, your hands, His hands, and your feet, His feet. Hallelujah!
In this kind of relationship, every limit and barrier is taken off your way; you experience nothing but progress in life. You’re so full of His glory and wisdom that they overflow from you to others. He takes over your life and you experience unprecedented manifestations of His power that causes many to wonder at you. These and more are what fellowship with the Holy Spirit will bring to you. Praise God!
*PRAYER*
_Dear Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit whom you’ve sent to live in me and guide me in all things. Even now, He lifts my vision and enables me to see and live as a master over everything in this life. I control and dominate the forces of nature and the world, and live above circumstances by the power of the Holy Spirit. Blessed be God!_
*FOCUS ON THE GREATER GOAL*
_Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work (John 4:34)._
As we earnestly look forward to the Rapture of the Church, it’s important that your focus be on the achievement of the “greater goal.” What’s this greater goal? It’s winning the unsaved to Christ.
Jesus and His disciples were on a journey from Judaea to Galilee, and they stopped in a Samaritan village. The Master needed to catch a breather while His disciples went to get some food. While Jesus sat at the well, a woman came to draw water, and Jesus began to preach the Good News of the Kingdom to her.
Much later, when His disciples returned with the food, and Jesus wouldn’t eat. When they wondered why He didn’t want to eat, He replied, _“I have food to eat that you know nothing about; the food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, and finish His work” (John 4:32-34)._
This is the example He left us to follow. Doing God’s work was number one to Jesus. Nothing should be more important to you than ensuring the spread of the Gospel in your world and around the world. You must realize that your earthly job, business, education or other career are your opportunities and vehicles for transporting the Gospel.
When you commit your life to soul winning, you discover the satisfaction and fulfilment nothing else in life can give you. You declare like Jesus, “My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work.” Praise God!
CONFESSION:
Living for Jesus Christ and being relevant in the ministry of reconciliation is my priority. Everything in my life—my thoughts, ideas, the excellence in my life—is all about soul winning. I’m an ambassador and a steward of the mysteries of Christ, and I’m fulfilling my ministry gloriously, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:
_Galatians 2:20; I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me._
_2 Corinthians 5:18-19; And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation._
_…be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18 GNB)._
The words “Thank you” are two of the most powerful words to They convey heartfelt appreciation and gratefulness which, when rightly expressed, leave an indelible impression of your sincere gratitude and evoke joy in the hearts of the recipients.
Also, when you make someone glad, it’ll relax your nerves and gladden your spirit! Therefore, every so often, ask yourself, “Who am I going to appreciate today?” Let it be part of your daily plan. Someone, somewhere, should get a call, a visit, a card or a gift from you to say, “Thank You!” I like it when I’m able to call someone to say, “Thank you.”
Some people find it difficult to express gratitude even when occasion warrants it. But the counsel of the Lord is clear: express gratitude always and in all things. When you go out and an attendant offers you any form of assistance, don’t forget to say, “Thank you.”
In church, or at the theatre or some event, when the usher shows you to a seat, don’t sit down without saying, “Thank you.” When a cab driver takes you safely to your destination, don’t alight without saying, “Thank you!” All these are simple everyday situations that we experience, and sometimes, we don’t realize we ought to be thankful for these things.
If you’re a parent, learn to say “Thank you” to your kids when they do something nice. As a couple, say “Thank you” to your spouse for the things you do for each other. When people do things for you, be it a favour or even something they’re obliged to do, practise saying, “Thank you.” You’ll be amazed at the joy and fulfilment you’ll experience as a result.
CONFESSION:
I’m rooted and built up in the Lord, strengthened in the faith and overflowing with thankfulness! Every day, I’m inspired to express my gratitude to God for those through whom He blesses me daily. Therefore, I walk in favour, joy, and fulfilment. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:
1 Thessalonians 5:18; In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
_…be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18 GNB)._
The words “Thank you” are two of the most powerful words to They convey heartfelt appreciation and gratefulness which, when rightly expressed, leave an indelible impression of your sincere gratitude and evoke joy in the hearts of the recipients.
Also, when you make someone glad, it’ll relax your nerves and gladden your spirit! Therefore, every so often, ask yourself, “Who am I going to appreciate today?” Let it be part of your daily plan. Someone, somewhere, should get a call, a visit, a card or a gift from you to say, “Thank You!” I like it when I’m able to call someone to say, “Thank you.”
Some people find it difficult to express gratitude even when occasion warrants it. But the counsel of the Lord is clear: express gratitude always and in all things. When you go out and an attendant offers you any form of assistance, don’t forget to say, “Thank you.”
I’d love to learn coding from scratch so I can become a web programmer and web app developer.
This thread was started for that purpose: help people like you.
*Responsive Web Design - Media Queries 1*
Media query is a CSS technique introduced in CSS3. It uses the @media rule to include a block of CSS properties only if a certain condition is true. For example, if the browser window is smaller than 500px, the background color will change to lightblue:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"/>
<style>
body {
background-color:lightgreen;
}
@media only screen and (max-width: 500px) {
body {
background-color:lightblue;
}
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<p>Resize the browser window. When the width of this document is less than 500 pixels, the background-color is "lightblue", otherwise it is "lightgreen".</p>
</body>
</html>
*Add a Breakpoint*
Earlier in our lessons, we made a web page with rows and columns, and it was responsive, but it did not look good on a small screen. Media queries can help with that. We can add a breakpoint where certain parts of the design will behave differently on each side of the breakpoint.
Let's take the example similar to the one from our last lesson, use a media query to add a breakpoint at 768px. So when the screen (browser window) gets smaller than 768px, each column should have a width of 100%. See the first and second images uploaded below.
*Grid-View Example*
The following example shows a simple responsive web page, with two columns: see the first image uploaded below.
The example is fine if the web page only contains two columns. However, we want to use a responsive grid-view with 12 columns, to have more control over the web page.
The CSS:
First we must calculate the percentage for one column: 100% / 12 columns = 8.33%. Then we make one class for each of the 12 columns, class="col-" and a number defining how many columns the section should span:
.col-1 {width: 8.33%;}
.col-2 {width: 16.66%;}
.col-3 {width: 25%;}
.col-4 {width: 33.33%;}
.col-5 {width: 41.66%;}
.col-6 {width: 50%;}
.col-7 {width: 58.33%;}
.col-8 {width: 66.66%;}
.col-9 {width: 75%;}
.col-10 {width: 83.33%;}
.col-11 {width: 91.66%;}
.col-12 {width: 100%;}
All these columns should be floating to the left, and have a padding of 15px:
[class*="col-"] {
float: left;
padding: 15px;
border: 1px solid red;
}
The columns inside a row are all floating to the left, and are therefore taken out of the flow of the page, and other elements will be placed as if the columns does not exist. To prevent this, we will add a style that clears the flow:
.row:after {
content: "";
clear: both;
display: block;
}
The HTML:
Each row should be wrapped in a <div>. The number of columns inside a row should always add up to 12:
<div class="row">
<div class="col-3">...</div>
<div class="col-9">...</div>
</div>
We also want to add some styles and colors to make it look better: see the second, third and fourth images uploaded below.
Notice that the webpage in the example does not look good when you resize the browser window to a very small width. In our next lesson you will learn how to fix that.
*What is a Grid-View?*
Many web pages are based on a grid-view, which means that the page is divided into columns, like you see in the first image uploaded below.
Using a grid-view is very helpful when designing web pages. It makes it easier to place elements on the page. See the second image uploaded below.
A responsive grid-view often has 12 columns, and has a total width of 100%, and will shrink and expand as you resize the browser window.
*Building a Responsive Grid-View*
First ensure that all HTML elements have the box-sizing property set to border-box. This makes sure that the padding and border are included in the total width and height of the elements. Add the following code in your CSS:
* {
box-sizing: border-box;
}
```How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! (Proverbs 16:16).```

1 Corinthians 1:30 says, “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom….” Christ Jesus is your wisdom; and who is Jesus? The Word; and the Word of God is the wisdom of God. To ignore God’s Word would be to ignore wisdom.

The Bible says, “Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed…” (Proverbs 13:13). God’s wisdom is the key to a great life. In Ephesians 1, the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, prayed for the church at Ephesus that God would grant them “…wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him” (Ephesians 1:17).

It doesn’t matter the books you’ve read or who your advisers are; for you to be a true success in life, you must walk in divine wisdom. The best part is that Christ, in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, lives in you. Therefore, you have insight into mysteries and secrets of life and of the Kingdom. Acknowledge this about yourself always.

Even now, declare that you make wise choices and decisions, because the Spirit of wisdom is at work in you. Affirm that divine wisdom is heard and seen in you today. Affirm that your actions and words are in sync with God’s plan, purpose and will, for you function by divine insight. Glory to God!

*CONFESSION*
_In Christ are stored all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and that same Christ is alive in me. Therefore, I have access to all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge! I’m sound, sagacious and perspicacious. I talk and deal wisely today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen._

*FURTHER STUDY:*

*|| Proverbs 4:5-9 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget [it] not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [therefore] get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. ||*

*CSS─ LAYERS*

CSS gives you an opportunity to create layers of various divisions. The CSS layers refer to applying the z-index property to elements that overlap with each other.

The z-index property is used along with the position property to create an effect of layers. You can specify which element should come on top and which element should come at bottom.A z-index property can help you to create more complex webpage layouts. The following example shows how to create layers in CSS. Example:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title> CSS LAYERS </title>
</head>
<body style="font-size: 22px;">

<div style="background-color:red; width:300px; height:500px; position:relative; top:10px; left:80px;"> This div has relative positioning.
</div>

<div style="background-color:green; width:300px; height:400px;"> This div has no positioning.
</div>

<div style="background-color:yellow; width:300px; height:100px; position:fixed; top:0px; right:35px; z-index:1;"> This div has fixed positioning.
</div>

```For the scripture says, “The first man, Adam, was created a living being”; but the last Adam is the life-giving Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45 GNB).```
2 Peter 1:4 says, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” Being partakers of the divine nature means we’re associates of the God-kind; we’re in comradeship with divinity. But that’s not all!
Not only did He graciously grant us to be sharers of His life, He also made us the dispensers or distributors of that life. In John 10:10, the Lord Jesus declared, “…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” He came to give eternal life to those who would believe in Him. No wonder He’s described in our opening verse as the life-giving Spirit.
Now, having been born again, you’re one with Him; He made you a life-giving spirit. Like Him, your life’s purpose is to bring the lost into the life of righteousness through the Gospel. Jesus said in John 20:21, “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” You’re His representative in the earth, to manifest the God-life in your world.
You’re the bearer of eternal verities. When you show up, life is manifested. When you touch the sick and the afflicted, the life in you is transferred and transfused into them, bringing them wholeness and perfection. No wonder Jesus charged us in Matthew 10:8, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils....”
As you show up with the consciousness that you’re the carrier of His divine essence and people listen to you share the Word, eternal life is unveiled to them. And everything of darkness bows. The Bible says He brought life and immortality to light, through the Gospel (2 Timothy 1:10). Hallelujah!
*PRAYER*
Among them was a woman who had suffered from severe bleeding for twelve years; she had spent all she had on doctors, but no one had been able to cure her. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not…heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14).
Imagine having custody of a message—the only message that guarantees the salvation of men and can change the world! This glorious Gospel of the blessed Lord Jesus Christ has been committed to your trust (1 Timothy 1:11). You’re the steward of the mysteries of Christ, and it’s required that you’re faithful (1 Corinthians 4:2).
Don’t be unfaithful in fulfilling your ministry in the Gospel; don’t treat it with levity. You can win a soul today. These are the last days; don’t hope that, somehow, people will just hear and believe in Jesus; do something about it. Take the message out by yourself. Become more passionate about the Gospel!
The Gospel of Christ makes sinners righteous. It catapults the poor from obscurity, penury and misery to a life of prosperity, glory and excellence. It’s the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes (Romans 1:16). But they can’t hear and believe without a preacher.
The sick need to know that there’s a saviour and a healer who gives them a new life, a life that’s divine and superior to sickness. Such glorious news! But you’re the one He trusts to preach and tell it everywhere.
To live without Christ is to live without God; in damnation. That’s why you must be fervent in spirit, preaching the Gospel (Romans 12:11). You’ve been sent to take the light of the Gospel to those living in darkness (Acts 13:47). Therefore, don’t hold back; don’t be apologetic. Be bold and recognize that you’re the custodian of the message that works.
PRAYER
Blessed Father, I pray for all who will hear the Gospel today, that the message profits them, resulting in salvation. I celebrate your righteousness and glorious power that’s unveiled around the world today, through the preaching of the Gospel, as many are brought out of darkness into your glorious light, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
_We trust you have been blessed by this devotional. We invite you to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life by praying thus:_
*_“O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He’s alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal life; I’m born again. Thank you Lord, for saving my soul! I’m now a child of God. Hallelujah!”_*
*CSS─ DISPLAY 2*
*Hide an Element - display:none or visibility:hidden?*
Hiding an element can be done by setting the display property to none. The element will be hidden, and the page will be displayed as if the element is not there:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title> CSS DISPLAY </title>
<style>
h1.hidden {
display: none;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<h1>This is a visible heading</h1>
<h1 class="hidden">This is a hidden heading</h1>
<p>Notice that the h1 element with display: none; does not take up any space.</p>
</body>
</html>
See the result in the image uploaded below.
As we have learnt in the earlier lesson, visibility:hidden; also hides an element.
However, the element will still take up the same space as before. The element will be hidden, but still affect the layout. So basically:
display - Specifies how an element should be displayed.
visibility - Specifies whether or not an element should be visible.
*CSS─ DISPLAY 1*
A property called display allows you to set an element to show or not. The display property is the most important CSS property for controlling layout. The display property specifies if/how an element is displayed. Every HTML element has a default display value depending on what type of element it is. The default display value for most elements is block or inline.
*Block-level Elements*
A block-level element always starts on a new line and takes up the full width available (stretches out to the left and right as far as it can). The <div> element is a block-level element. Examples of other block-level elements:
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h4> <h6>
<p>
<form>
<header>
<footer>
<section>
*Inline Elements*
An inline element does not start on a new line and only takes up as much width as necessary. The <span> element is an inline element. Examples of other inline elements:
<a>
<img>
display: none; is commonly used with JavaScript to hide and show elements without deleting and recreating them.
*Override The Default Display Value*
As mentioned, every element has a default display value. However, you can override this. Changing an inline element to a block element, or vice versa, can be useful for making the page look a specific way, and still follow the web standards. A common example is making inline <li> elements for horizontal menus:
See the example and result in the first and second images uploaded below.
Note: Setting the display property of an element only changes how the element is displayed, NOT what kind of element it is. So, an inline element with display: block; is not allowed to have other block elements inside it.
The following example displays <span> elements as block elements:
See the example and result in the third and fourth images uploaded below.
