Well, here is my observation;

The event in the first pics was not crafted by him, so no much glory to take. And the rigours they went through to get the girls back was not funny at all.
However, in the second pics, he is the director and main character in the badly done blockbuster movie, he is obviously smiling on the fool they had made out of few mumus out there who believed the whole rubbish. Also, he is happy that he has scored some cheap points ahead of the 2019 elections.
