We are not telling you to buy it because we think we want you to wasting your money, we are telling you to buy dc cables because if you don't, all the solar panel power you got will be zero. The importance of the dc cable to transfer current and voltage cannot be over emphasize, and you said you use two batteries, those two batteries will be needing 20amps minimum to charge well. And the ac cables which can even work with solar panels well are those one that you connect from the nepa line into your house not those one on your socket.

Infact I had to loosen my discarded laptop battery to make sense of the whole thing, then boom, the laptop own is understandable to an extent, infact I just used today trying to understand the ones you guys run here and I still don’t get it. Trying to unlearn something is difficult I guess.

I understand the mathematics around it, but I don’t understand why some connections need to be done at different joints and all that; the way you guys do yours.

Bro this your inverer solar iside is very poor. As the others have said, get an external mppt of 60amp. You can use powmr or other brands in the market. Then connect all in series since 60amp is by 150vdc.

It's an hybrid inverter, 60a mppt.

The inverter is a 12v inverter with a maximum voltage of 50v, meaning I can't run the 3 panels in series because each panel is about 25v.

Is there a way I can run the panels to produce at most 30a?

Please pardon me to ask what is the name and model number of the hybrid inverter, because I have not seen any 60amp hybrid mppt inverter having 50v maximum voltage. Others I have seen are 60amps by 150v, 40amps by 150v.. then single controller are 20amps by 50v , 30amps 75v, 40amps by 100v..please post the name and model.

Am using a 16v adapter with 20amps controller everything seems fine right now.

I didn't know that you can connect laptop charger to pwm controller to charge your battery.

Please I need help with adding a single panel to a current setup.

Purpose of addition is to increase charge Amps, so battery can be fully charged before 12 PM and load usage during sunlight.

Current setup ( 12 volts system ) : 2 x 335 watt panel connected in parallel with Voc of 46 volt and 40 amps mppt charge controller with max voltage of 150v delivering around 20 amps.

Battery is 12v 172 amps Lifepo4

What size of single panel should be added and what panel connection is required for optimal performance?

18650s o I it was made for laptop power bank over the years because of its limitations I dumped it one side then this thread came I then reconfigure it to be using bms and added charge controller and small panel to it. Only small inverter remains.

Yes I agree too. I use pwm to charge my 3s it's slow to recharge, but I charge my phone and USB fan till dawn and lose only 0.3-0.4v. (30ah 12.6v)

As the other poster has said their may be shading or dust in your panels that limiting it to produce well

The max of 150v is for 36v and 48v set up.Please carefully read your manual.

As you can see from the manual the total voltage that can brake the controller is 190v. Even if you think it In a lay man point of view will powmr create a controller that will work well with 150v in some settings and get burnt in 105v settings when they both use the same Hardware

Have you tested them one by one with meter, because that 36v you are saying is for only one panel voltage, if they are connected in series, you suppose to see above 80v so find somebody to check if they are connected.

You have exceeded the Max VOC rating for a 24v set up for PowMr.The max VOC is 105v.You can't go beyond 2units of 280w in series for a 24v set up.You are lucky your CC hasn't fried. What brands are your panels? I am sure they are not up to the rated capacity that's why your CC hasn't burnt!

Sir the max voltage of powmr 60A CC is 150v(for the old models). The charging profile is where changes occur for 12v is max 600w for 24v 1200w for 36v 2160w and 48v 2880w. This are the supply powers to the battery.what the guy should do is to take a test first for his panels, reading the voltage and amps coming from the connected array, to know if they are connected properly.

Hello boss I have a question I know that the design is wrong but the electrician has already tell the customer that he can use 6 batteries for 48v system. Is any thing that can be done without positioning the battery close to the working unit?. N.b the customer is a family member and he is not agreeing to a change of design

Hello boss I read somewhere were that you use Ethernet cables as your solar wire. I want to ask if you connected all the strings of coloured wire into one terminal or you divided them into fours for both terminal?

This thing na maths, na the one wey pay you go do. If you need to charge a 100ah battery, assuming there's 5 hours of sunlight, you need 240W.

Quality: You'll get a tier 1 panel with high watts, unlikely with smaller panels. This will affect the maximum power the panels can deliver.

Cost: how much is 3 panels vs 1 Panel. Choose most cost effective.

Power - 3 panels
in parallel - small voltage * big current
in series - high voltage * small current

1 panel - high voltage * small current.

Then you choose the one that won't exceed the input characteristics of your charge controller.

Quick question as 30a charge controller only allows 330w for 12v battery, if someone puts a 600w solar panel array would it spoil the charge controller if the input settings of the charge controller is not exceeded??

Please does exceeding the Total watts oof charge controller does damage to it. For example 12v is(260 watt) for 20amps CC. And you want to connect 300w to it will it affect it.

I would advice that u tell him to go get a 10mm cable, so that he won't push everything on ur head if the installation goes south or something awful happens in the future. Though 6mm should also suffice sha but if he wish to upgrade, then cable upgrade will be required

Yes, it can if the 3panels are wired in series instead of parallel connection, wiring d 3panels in series will exceed d input voltage of the controller.

Okay so if I parallel them together and have 36v 27amps on 6mm cable would there still be issue
