Foreign AffairsRe: Ghana Rejects Ramaphosa State Visit Request Over Xenophobic Attacks by Egodollars(f): 6:38am On Jul 08
Anytime South Africans misbehave their president would start going to those countries for state visit. Other countries should follow suit and reject any such stupid visits. Where was he when his people were killing others? He should take his visit and apologies and sove it where the sun doesn't shine .

Benue mourns ex-SSG killed by suspected bandits

The Benue State Government has mourned a former Secretary to the State Government, Prof. David Salifu, who died after sustaining gunshot injuries in an attack by suspected bandits along the Wukari-Makurdi road.

Salifu was reportedly attacked on Thursday on the outskirts of Wukari while travelling to Makurdi. He later died from his injuries in the early hours of Friday.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Secretary to the State Government, Deborah Aber, described the late Salifu as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to governance and education left a lasting impact on the state.

The statement, issued on behalf of Governor Hyacinth Alia, said Salifu served the state with “uncommon diligence, integrity and intellectual distinction.”

It added that his contributions to public administration, scholarship and human capital development earned him widespread respect and left an enduring legacy.

“On behalf of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Governor of Benue State, the Government and the good people of Benue State, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Dcns. Serumun Deborah Aber extends heartfelt condolences to the Salifu family over this painful loss.

“The Government of Benue State joins the family, friends, the academic community, and all who knew him in mourning this illustrious son of Benue,” the statement read in part.

They won't do that but prefer to keep mute
emkz:
Fulani leaders should do well to report anyone pretending to be their own.

Every community has leaders of different settlers. Once a settler join, he should report to the community head who can identify him. If a member of a community commits a crime, the leader of that community should be held accountable. That way, someone is responsible for someone under his association.

Fulanis may have been unfairly stereotyped. Many kidnappers and terrorists are local gangs and even some people from outside Nigeria are recruited. Evans was doing lucrative kidnap business in Lagos charging in dollars. Did anyone know? Let everyone report new faces to Baales and local leaders so they can be properly profiled. Anyone caught kidnapping should be put on trial and if found guilty, executed.

APC PRIMARIES DEMONSTRATE INTERNAL DEMOCRACY, DEEPEN GRASSROOT POLITICS, SAYS PRESIDENT TINUBU

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday described the conduct of the 2026 All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries nationwide as a strong demonstration of internal democracy within the ruling party.

President Tinubu stated this after he participated in the APC Presidential Primaries at Ikoyi-Obalende Ward L2 in Lagos, noting that the exercise has further deepened the democratic process.

The President, who arrived at the venue alongside his wife, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, was received by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Conerlius Ojelabi, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, and former Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, among other party leaders.

The President commended party members for their orderly conduct, enthusiasm, and commitment to democratic values.

"This is a demonstration of internal democracy, and it has been going on very well according to plan. This is grassroots politics where every member of the party has the right to participate.

“It shows that we have internal democracy and it’s peaceful and well organised.

On the conduct of the primaries across the states, President Tinubu said, "I am very satisfied that Governors have done well in their various states, from the ward congresses to Local Government congresses to the delegate accreditation, validation, membership registration and the certification of the electoral process. It has been done very well, and with this, you could rate democracy at a high level."

He reiterated that APC remains committed to transparent and inclusive democratic processes that give party members at the grassroots the opportunity to freely choose their leaders and representatives, emphasising that their involvement remains the foundation for sustainable democratic development.

President Tinubu also praised electoral officials, party leaders, and security agencies for ensuring the exercise was conducted peacefully and credibly, and urged Nigerians to continue supporting democratic institutions and national unity.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to democratic ideals, good governance, and policies to improve the welfare of Nigerians while strengthening political stability nationwide.

Check the NNPC, it has more northerners and dangote is from the north! Nnpc was junketing around that they have products to sell!! Instead of complaining they should bring out theirs and let buyers decide, not all this noise. If it's left to NNPC we would have been buying it for over 3k per litre now in the wake of Iran war.

PoliticsNo Officials, No Materials: APC Benue South Senatorial Primary Fails To Kick Off by Egodollars(op): 3:35am On May 19
Serious uncertainty and growing tension have engulfed the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue South as the scheduled Senatorial Primary Election is yet to commence across the zone.
Reports reaching our desk from all federal constituencies — Apa/Agatu, Otukpo/Ohimini, Oju/Obi, and Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo — indicate that as of this evening, no election officials have arrived, and no voting materials have been distributed.
Party faithful and supporters trooped out in large numbers as early as this morning, patiently waiting across various wards to participate in the exercise. However, hours after the scheduled commencement time, there are still no signs of electoral activity, leaving stakeholders and voters stranded in uncertainty.
The situation has been worsened by the absence of any official communication from the party leadership. Speaking on the development, an aide to leading Senatorial aspirant, Engr. Agidani Oloche, expressed deep concern over the total lack of coordination.
“There has been absolutely no communication or coordination regarding the process in the constituency,” the aide stated, pointing to serious logistical and organizational failures surrounding the exercise.
The total absence of election personnel and materials has raised concerns among party stakeholders across Benue South. With no directives or explanations from the APC Electoral Committee, anxiety continues to grow over the fate of the Benue South Senatorial ticket.
Meanwhile, police officers deployed to collation centres in Apa reportedly waited endlessly for officials and election materials expected from Makurdi before eventually leaving the venue, a development many described as unfortunate and disappointing.
