There are many online/offline courses which could teach you Primavera Project Planner, Excel or even Project Management, but i did not find any course which can teach you how to be a professional planning engineer. In the new age of project management, you cannot be a good planning engineer without being able to successfully use project management tools like primavera, MS Project, excel or the combination of these tools very well. This course will be a step by step practical procedure to create a detailed time schedule and project management plan using Primavera P6 and associated works relating to Excel Spreadsheet.

This course is mainly for new engineers who want to change their career from other engineering sector to become a planning engineer and anyone who wants to know how to create/monitor project detailed time schedule and project management plan. Lesson Description
Part A: Introduction to Planning
1. Introduction to Planning Engineer Job Role, Responsibilities and main skills required.
2. The content of project management plan (Time schedule, Shop drawings log, Procurement tracking log, weekly and Monthly reports, Etc.).
3. Microsoft Excel Fundamentals and the magic of Excel (what you should know in excel as a planning engineer).
4. Oracle Primavera fundamentals and see what you can do with primavera.
Part B: Create Detailed Time Schedule with Primavera P6
5. Create Activity List and Cost Loading: Working with Bill of Quantities BOQ and Understanding the project to create activity list and cost loading in Excel from the Bill of Quantities.
6. Create the Time Frame Schedule in Primavera: Import the activity list from excel to primavera and create WBS, Activity codes, Activities Relationships and Load cost to each activity.
7. Add shop drawings and Materials to the time schedule: Add and link engineering works to the related activities in the schedule and create Shop drawing Log and Procurement tracking log.
8. Estimate the Manpower and create Manpower loading sheet: Create Manpower loading sheet in excel and import it to primavera.
9. Check your schedule before the consultant does: How to fix common mistakes the consultant or who will review your schedule could pick it up like open ends, total float and unrealistic relationships.
10. Create Cash Flow and Manpower Histogram: Using primavera reports and excel to create Cash flow and Histogram.
11. Create baseline and update the schedule.
12. How to use Photo Shop, Auto cad and PowerPoint to create a professional presentation.
13. Prepare weekly / monthly reports
14. Tips and tricks to speed up your work
Part C: Final Exam to obtain your certificate

Note: Participants will benefit from developing hands-on planning experience with real Construction as well as Oil & Gas projects.
