Agriculture / TOPAMAC: Change The Pace To Agriculture And Feel More Comfortable & Profitable by Ekesmall(m): 8:49pm On Apr 08, 2017
According to this quote; Did you know "No one understands that you have given everything. You must give more".

You wish to change your pace?, why don't you go for #AGRICULTURE ?.

IMPORTANT OF AGRICULTURAL SECTOR OVER ANY OTHER SECTOR

(1) SOURCE OF LIVELIHOOD

The main source livelihood of many people is agriculture.

Approximately 70 % of the people directly rely on agriculture as a mean of living.

(2) CONTRIBUTION TO NATIONAL REVENUE

Agriculture is the main source of national income for most developing countries.

However, for NIGERIA here as a nation we are also trying to change the PACE into Agriculture from crude oil.

(3) SUPPLY OF FOOD AS WELL AS FODDER

Agricultural sector provides fodder for domestic animals .

Cow provides people with milk which is a form of protective food. Moreover, livestock also meets people’s food requirements.

(4) SIGNIFICANCE TO THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE

Agricultural products like sugar, tea, rice, spices, tobacco, coffee etc. constitute the major items of exports of countries that rely on agriculture

(5) MARKETABLE SURPLUS

The growth of agricultural sector contributes to marketable surplus.

Many people engage in manufacturing, mining as well as other non- agricultural sector as the nation develops.

All these individuals rely on food production that they might meet from the nation’s marketable surplus. As agricultural sector development takes place, production increases and this leads to expansion of marketable surplus

-- Lets just STOP at this point, because there is high TENDENCY that we can use a WHOLE DAY listing the usefulness of AGRICULTURAL SECTOR over all OTHER SECTORS (still yet we wouldn't finish it )

Don't you know, we haven't mentioned || provision of sources of Raw Material, Foreign Exchange Resources, Great Employment Opportunities, Economic Development, Food Security and so on.

Education / WAEC Body For 2016/17 Develops New Device To Stop Examination Malpractice by Ekesmall(m): 5:54pm On Dec 18, 2015
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has developed a new device called “CredenceOne” to check-mate the activities of perpetrators of examination malpractice and impersonation.

The Head of National Office of WAEC, Mr. Isaac Adenipekun, who announced the new technology on Thursday, said the council deployed the device for the first time during the November/December 2015 WASSCE.

Mr. Adenipekun said: “It is the intersection of mobile communications and biometric technology.

It is a mobile biometric identification and verification system, built on the Android Operating System.

Using “CredenceOne” is as simple as using a mobile phone.

It is used to initiate and complete the biometric verification of candidates’ fingerprints.

“The device is programmed to compare the scanned fingerprint template with the initial templates captured during registration and display the candidate’s details to check impersonation.

The system also takes candidates’ attendance and automatically sends the records online to the remote central server for reporting.

“With this innovation, we can boldly say that WAEC, Nigeria now has its biometric fingerprint identification and verification system on a mobile device”, he said.

The WAEC boss added that the deployment of the new technology is part of the efforts of the Council to continue to protect the integrity of its examinations.

Education / WAEC Considers Using CBT For Objective (OBJ) Questions Come 2016 by Ekesmall(m): 5:17pm On Dec 18, 2015
The West African Examinations Council ( WAEC) is considering making use of Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode of examinations for objective questions .

Head, National Office of WAEC in Lagos, Mr Olutise Adenipekun disclosed this in an interview while announcing the 2015 November/ December examination results » on Thursday.

He said that, due to the current technology trends, it makes sense that this mode of examination might be the next course of action for the board.

NAN reports that the council is pursuing this with vigour and is looking toward its realisation soon.

Adenipekun added that this means that teachers will be trained on the new processes and procedures to standardised tests.

He said that the process would expose the Nigerian child to the benefits of information and communication technology, which was currently driving national economies.

NAN recalls that the former National head » , Mr Charles Eguridu, in August, admitted that WAEC does not have any plans » to introduce the CBT mode.

Eguridu had said that it would amount to “intellectual dishonesty’’ for him to say that the council would introduce CBT in the next five years or the near future.
