Alberta voters reject a move toward independence in referendum, CBC projects


EDMONTON, Alberta — Voters in Canada’s oil-rich province of Alberta have rejected a proposal to begin a process toward independence, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. projected early Tuesday, delivering a victory for Prime Minister Mark Carney and supporters of Canadian unity amid U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war and annexation threats.

The vote was not a direct referendum on independence but would have set oil-rich Alberta on a path toward a future vote on separation from Canada.

This is how it should be in every country, once the topic of separation comes up, all it's Government need to do is give the people reason why a united people as a nation is better, then conduct a referendum so the votes can speak for itself, in most cases, its only about 20 to 30% of the regions that wants to separate, so by conducting the referendum peace and trust is restored.
But some will rather send soldiers killing people thereby giving legitimacy to the few that wants separation, and in most cases creating a problem that was originally non existence.

Wisdom is profitable to direct, and when the righteous is on the throne the people rejoice.

In my own opinion, the statement he made that he was with a police man all Sunday, seems like a premeditated action.
