Actually it's fixed, one year in UK and 2 years in Nigeria. But whether your UK residency will be in your first, second or third year of your PhD, depends on what you and your supervisor agree on.

Please, concerning the UK split programme, did you start off in the UK or in Kaduna? And how is it going to pan out. I need some clarifications if you don't mind.
