maasoap: This is even worse than the case of unemployed ones. Working your a$s off, then put your life savings in a ponzi scheme. That's stupidity of the highest order! Their decision is not influenced by the need to augument their income but the desire to earn unrealistic profits. The worst culprits are even bankers! It got to a point the banks had to start warning staff to desist from the MMM Ponzi scheme |
Investment › Re: Victims Of Ponzi Schemes Are Driven By Greed And Laziness by Eledan: 9:50am On Mar 04, 2017 |
jetroolowole: It's good you color it mutual aid. Ponzi schemes sometimes commence operations as legitimate investment vehicles, such as hedge funds. For example, a hedge fund can degenerate into a Ponzi scheme if it unexpectedly loses money (or simply fails to legitimately earn the returns promised and/or thought to be expected) and if the promoters, instead of admitting their failure to meet expectations, fabricate false returns and (if necessary) produce fraudulent audit reports.
When a Ponzi scheme is not stopped by the authorities, it sooner or later falls apart for one of the following reasons: 1. The promoter vanishes, taking all the remaining investment money. 2. Since the scheme requires a continual stream of investments to fund higher returns, once investment slows down, the scheme collapses as the promoter starts having problems paying the promised returns (the higher the returns, the greater the risk of the Ponzi scheme collapsing). 3. Such liquidity crises often trigger panics, as more people start asking for their money, similar to a bank run. External market forces, such as a sharp decline in the economy, cause many investors to withdraw part or all of their funds.
Now comparing it with a co-operative society is wrong. A co-op is "a jointly owned enterprise engaging in the production or distribution of goods or the supplying of services, operated by its members for their mutual benefit, typically organized by consumers or farmers." Cooperative businesses are typically more economically resilient than many other forms of enterprise, with twice the number of co-operatives (80%) surviving their first five years compared with other business ownership models (41%). Cooperatives frequently have social goals which they aim to accomplish by investing a proportion of trading profits back into their communities. As an example of this, in 2013, retail co-operatives in the UK invested 6.9% of their pre-tax profits in the communities in which they trade as compared with 2.4% for other rival supermarkets. In co-op, there is reliable source of income and part of the return is what is used to finance the co-op.
If you check my write-up, I mentioned that History has taught us from time to time that any investment business that rely only on new investors to survive without products can not stand the test of time. Bro, the intelligence of these MMM crew at low level cannot comprehend all these, those at the high end of the scheme also will never want you to expose their fraudulent acts, all of them will only come up to either insult you or at best, discredit your write up with their usual nonsense |

ShootToKill: Why yoruba fingers conveniently omit the name of Col. Unegbe in the list of killed politicians and officers? Is it because it will not suit your yoruba narrative of 'Igbo soldiers killed others and left others'.
yoruba revisionists will always be exposed as the gargantuan frauds they are in this digital age. Beg buhari to ban the internet and close down all non-yoruba owned media houses so your lies will be the option available for people to consume as it was in the 80s' before this digital age. The only Igbo to die in the coup, Lt. Col. Arthur Unegbe, was shot by Anuforo because he was known to be close to Brig. Maimalari and had to be silenced in order to avoid him from raising the alarm The only Ibo officer killed simply because they perceived him as an obstacle to their dastardly act as he was a close confidante to Maimlari https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_Nigerian_coup_d'%C3%A9tat and also because he refused to hand over the keys to the armoury to these dissidents. He held the keys to the armoury and the control of armoury was vital to the success of the second phase of the Revolution. When Anuforo asked Unegbe for the keys, he refused and was shot immediately in the presence of his wife Enuma Unegbe. http://thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2017/01/51-years-of-nigerias-1st-coup-what-british-intelligence-officials-wrote-about-it/4/You are free to write your own alternative truth and label it the Ibo version, but the NA archives is repleted with info about '66. |

ShootToKill: [s]You yorubas should purge yourself of the urge to peddle falsehood all over the place.
1) Ironsi was never aware of the coup, your brother coupist Ademoyega who wrote 'why we struck' even confirmed that Aguiyi was sleeping in offshore boats instead of Govt house in Lagos after the 'Igbo coup' due to fears of insecurity. How can a General plan his own insecurity?
2.) Fajuyi never insisted on dying with Aguiyi, he was also marked for excecution like Ironsi, only yoruba revisioists and academic frauds sell that garbage. Fact is, yorubas had fewer soldiers in the army, coupled with your history of cowardice, Hausa and fulanis knew you wouldn't do more than sitting like puppies even if all your leaders were killed in yorubaland.
These are the pure truths!
Enlightened people like us will not allow you to deceive people and get away with it. We will whip you back into the line of truth. [/s] Pure made in aba rubbish. The world is not for revisionist like you. The lies sold to you have been discredited over and over again on NL. |

According to him, at independence in 1960, the Richard’s Constitution spelt out what Nigeria should be – a Federal Republic with three regions – North, East and West as the components. He said:
“Each of the regions is equal and each is allowed to develop at its own pace. Whatever resources you have in your region, you take 50 per cent and the remaining 50 per cent is sent to the centre, which is further shared between the centre and the regions. That was the country we knew. Today, the reverse is the case. May God curse Aguiyi Ironsi in hell for creating the Unitary Decree 34. |
