Has it ever occur to you that making a choice of the next car is highly determined by a lot of factors and some times we under estimate or value our judgement and other times we over estimate or exaggerate our judgement how ever the case may be its always better to have a precise scale of judgement before embarking on the next choice of car: below are guide lines to choosing what car to buy next.

1. PURPOSE ; the wisest man that ever lived in the book of proverbs says" when ever purpose is not known abuse is inevitable" over the years I've seen people buying cars they don't really need at the moment and end up selling in less than 3 months after purchase,I've seen people trying to show off that they've arrived when they are still expecting to break through from poverty!! but all this hitches are avoidable if we clearly define our purpose for wanting a ride. example of a purpose driven car choice :

I NEED A CAR THAT IS FUEL ECONOMICAL,THAT CAN SURVIVE ON A ROUGH TERRAIN SUCH THAT I CAN TRAVEL WITH ANY TIME ANY DAY AND EASY TO MAINTAIN .

ANS: FOR SUCH A FELLOW I WILL PRESCRIBE AN SUV,PREFERABLY A JAPANESE BRAND WITH 4 PLUGS AND A 2.0-2.7L ENGINE MAX.

2. BUDGET : This is one of the most sensitive part of car decision making ,your budget can either make or mar your choice of choosing the next car and my personal counsel to people is that you try and be as sincere as possible in budgeting for your next ride as sometime you may need to shift ground , its always better to buy a car and drive than to buy a car and start resuming in a mechanic work shop because of your failure to shift ground on your budget.there are better ways of saving cost without compromising your budget e.g : instead of buying a brand new car you can order a less than 10,000km driven cars direct from the states and this will save you a lot of cost,also instead of staying put on buying a tokunboh car you can buy the same car in Nigeria as a few months registered car like 3 months reg or 6months reg Nigerian used and this will help you save a lot of money also.

3.ENVIRONMENT : I have discovered that for different environment car maintenance varies and the life span of your vehicle is determined only by one thing and that's the level of maintenance available. e.g i observed that in Bayelsa state the most common car on the street are Mazda products, you will find all models of mazda on their roads such as : Mazda 323,626,333,z,tribute,232,mpv, e.t.c so if you live in this environment you can be sure of access to mazda professional mechanics and availability of mazda spare parts at a very affordable rate. if you are in Benin then you might consider a mercedz or audi as these are the most common cars on their road, if you live in the north then volkwagen golf, Peugot :406,406 prestige,206,307,607, Toyota,honda accord,civic,crv and the likes will be a very good options. 4.RESELLING : I don't want to know how rich you are; any car used continually in Nigeria for 2-3 year is worth releasing from your garage!!! hhhhmmm!! as hard as that may sound its so profound. pay attention to this last one and you will be glad you did,due to our poor road maintenance and poor maintenance culture its advisable you don't keep a car for more that 2-3 years max as cars depreciates more here,so when making a car choice choose a car that has a better second hand values that is a car you can use for 2-3 year and still sell or swap without necessarily loosing too much money i will list top 5 of such cars after this write up.some people will say things like i don't like selling my property but i will like to also chip this in by saying that do you take pleasure in destroying your property instead ? as its always better to discard a vehicle whether its bought brand new,tokunboh,fairly used,3rd hand ,fourth hand and what ever the case maybe, the reason is that when people buy a new car they always wan to pay a closer attention to the car needs and always aim at making it new buy buying new accessories,new cd,new shocks,new tires unlike you that have known or own it for 2-3 years,you can get so use to your car that you will take its maintenance for granted assuming fully well that " shebi na this my moto wey no dey die" lol !!!
