2. ⁠Non payment of the CONMESS arrears of LASUTH honorary consultants, the congress resolved
TO EMBARK ON A TOTAL 3-DAY WARNING STRIKE, WHICH IS TO COMMENCE BY 8AM ON MONDAY(28/07/2025) AND ENDS BY 8AM ON THURSDAY (31/07/2025), AFTER WHICH A 21-DAY ULTIMATUM WILL BE ISSUED TO LASG AT THE EXPIRATION OF WHICH IF OUR
DEMANDS ARE NOT MET, TO EMBARK ON A TOTAL AND INDEFINITE STRIKE ACTION.

*JULY SALARY PAY CUT FOR MEMBERS OF THE MEDICAL GUILD*

We bring you warm greetings from the officers’ committee and congress of the Medical Guild .

The medical Guild received with great shock and disbelief the implementation of a salary pay cut by the State Treasury Office following payments of the July salary to members of the Medical Guild.

This payment pattern followed a similar illegal and clandestine deduction made to our emoluments in April 2025, which was promptly reversed following well spirited interventions and the declaration of industrial dispute.

Therefore, it came to us as a rude shock once again that the government will carry out this brutal action without the knowledge and consent of the Medical Guild against the agreement had at our last engagement.

Let it be known that this singular and repeated provocation by the Government is capable of reversing the gains and relative peace being enjoyed in the health sector of Lagos state over the past years.

We recall that the Guild has aptly justified the current emoluments as a product of prolonged negotiations with the Lagos State Government. It is therefore regrettable that Government will toe this illegal path of deducting the emoluments of any public servant without their express consent as specified by the labour law. Moreso, at this period of economic stagflation caused by the harsh policies of Government itself and the Japa syndrome, when other states are doing all that is humanly possible to encourage and motivate their health workforce.

Our demand;
1. We demand an immediate reversal of this illegally deducted emolument

2. ⁠We demand immediate payment of the withheld revised CONMESS arrears of honorary consultants in LASUTH and other unpaid doctors.

3. ⁠We affirm equivocally that we cannot guarantee a continued industrial harmony beyond *8am Monday, the 28th of July, 2025* if the illegal emoluments deducted are not duly reversed.

Kindly take note of the followings;

1. A Representative council meeting of the Association has been scheduled for Friday, 25th July, 2025

2. ⁠The congress of the Medical Guild will hold on Saturday 26th July, 2025.

3. Once again, we cannot guarantee industrial harmony across the length and breath of our hospitals beyond *8am, Monday, 28th July, 2025* if our deducted emolument is not reversed.
