TravelNeed Guidance On Relocating Abroad To Study Nursing Or Work As A Caregiver by EloSuccess(op): 11:53pm On Aug 31, 2025
This is my story. Please advise.
I’m a young girl of 24 years, soon to be 25 in a few months. I studied Mass Communication, class of 2024.
I want to leave the country and study nursing, which has always been my dream. I wrote my WAEC this year, and my result is pretty good. I have been researching the easiest route to leave the country. I recently stumbled on caregiver jobs, which led me to start taking online courses. I’ll also be starting physical training soon on HCA and phlebotomy.
I’m considering seeking sponsorship visas as a caregiver to either Canada, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Australia, or the UK.
I honestly don’t know how to proceed. I explored scholarships in Australia and Canada, but the schools keep referring me to their registered agents, who ask me to pay ₦35M–₦45M for them to process and apply to the schools, so I gave up on that. I really need guidance on how to get a caregiver job with a sponsorship visa.
I also got an agent to help me process a study visa, but he told me to rather apply for a 6-month visa and then “find a way around it” when I get there. That didn’t sit well with me at all.
By the way, I have a small spa and aesthetics business that I run here in Nigeria, and it’s been yielding small profits, which I use to pay my bills. But you know how tough it is running a small business without the funds to properly establish it.
