Serious allegations deserve serious investigations. They do not automatically amount to guilt.

Should Peter Obi therefore step down as a presidential candidate simply because someone accused him?

My answer is no.

Investigate the allegations.

Examine the evidence.

Let the courts and relevant authorities do their work.

If credible evidence eventually implicates him, let him face the full weight of the law.

But if we abandon due process and start treating every allegation as a conviction, then none of our politicians—including Peter Obi—would escape trial by social media.
