MadamVanessa:

Nice.
I wish my state governor would make Ibibio a compulsory subject in WAEC and NECO also. It pains me to see this new genz fóolish parents prioritizing English over their native language. Some parents even go as far as punishing their children for speaking their mother tongue. Fools.
Again, I'm against the practice of giving children English names. Let's normalize giving our children our tribal names please. Is Ibibio being offered in WAEC as we speak?? I know of Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo... |

ogahshtu: It's very commendable and necessary because some parents from Igbo land are helping to bury Igbo language alive even when they're living in Igbo speaking cities and villages It's becoming rampant. Most new generation mothers no longer speak Igbo to their children. So pathetic. |

Politics › Soludo Moves To Make Igbo Language A Compulsory Subject In WASSCE/NECO. by EmekaA125(op): 6:52pm On Jan 06, 2025 |
The Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, CFR has reiterated his commitment towards ensuring that Igbo language is revived across public and private schools in Anambra and SouthEast at large.
The Governor made the remark through the Head of Service, Post Primary School Service Commission, Awka who spoke on behalf of the Anambra State Commissioner of Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma Ude in readiness for the 2nd term resumption of academic activities after the Christmas/New Year Festivity scheduled to begin 13th January, 2026.
According to the Education Commissioner, Most private schools in Anambra have regrettably removed or replaced Igbo studies from their respective school curriculum which is antithetical to the tenets, norms and values required to be inculcated to pulpils right from infant age.
Even Candidates sitting for WASSCE/NECO in Anambra now see Igbo language as an elective subject which will no longer be tolerated and condoned going forward.
It is our duty to preserve Igbo language and make it a strong vital language in trade, commerce, enterprise and exportable across the globe. All hands must be on deck to achieve this collectively.

LegendHero: Nope, it is not.
People will low population can commit the highest number of crime per capital. This is a self evident truth.
Men for example commit the highest number of crime per capital, yet they are not statistically more (2x) than women in Nigeria.
Ibos commit the highest number of drug trafficking in Nigeria and yet they are not the majority.
Blacks are more in prison in USA but yet they are just 13% of the population.
Southerners have the highest number of internet fraudsters in Nigeria but yet we are not more populated than the North. Igbo is a minority group in Nigeria. Hope you are happy now?? |

proeast: This has been my argument too. Let another president who can be trusted handle this tax issue. A president who has been so brazenly clannish. Someone who can't do anything without nepotism can't be trusted give others their fair share.
For the iragbiji man to be pushing this tax issue with so much passion despite warnings to take it easy is another cause for concern. Northerners are not the only people in Nigeria to decide what the President should do or not do. Oshin56: they would have supported another candidate from the primary, but there prediction failed.. Tinubu defeated Lawan backed by most Northerners secretly at the primaries. Xisnin: That is none of your business unless you are from an oil state and even in that case you can only question your own state government. His question is valid. What exactly has oil rich States achieved with huge funds at their disposal?? aswani: If Obi agrees to be Atiku's running mate, all over the North, the week before elections, the "Yes Daddy" audio will be played in mosques.
Atiku that immediately deleted a tweet regarding the killing of a Christian lady in Sokoto (or was it Zamfara) when Northern twitter people were letting him know they will remember it during elections.
Obi na bad market right now for North, serious one. Until he clarifies that audio, even if apologising, he will be easy to campaign against up North. Which audio? Buhari said worst in 2011 but was later elected in 2015. What Peter Obi needs in 2027 is a strong vice From the North but I wouldn't want him and Atiku to split votes for Tinubu to benefit from. So let there be a merger. didymario7: If Atiku is on the Balot Tinubu cannot win NE.
As much as I hate to admit it, If the North supports Atiku and Obi agrees to be his running mate, I don't see how Tinubu can win, coz they will sweep SS, SE, NW, NE and divide NC. You are correct. |
