It has been an amazing year for indigenous rapper, Olamide. To crown the many successes of 2016 and give back to his loyal fans, Olamide has announced the 3rd edition of Olamide Live In Concert. This December, Achievas Entertainment , YBNL Nation Entertainment and Right Entertainment team up to bring to fans of Olamide, the Beast Mode III. Plans are also in full gear for the concert and like previous editions, Olamide is set to once again, to ‘unleash the beast’ at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos on the 26th of December, 2016. Fans are definitely in for a huge surprise as the organising team of OLIC III have assured that this edition is going to be absolutely different from preceding editions. There will be surprising changes from the norm of OLIC concerts from props and promotions strategies to never seen before set designs. From setting a standard for United Kingdom concerts by selling out tickets hours before the YBNL concert began with fans overfilling the five thousand capacity concert venue to hosting his first ever OLIC concert in Toronto, Canada which was recorded as a massive success, not to forget noteworthy international nominations and awards and of course hit singles like Orobo, Abule Sowo, Owo Blow, Konkobility among others, that have all continued to top music charts locally and internationally, Olamide has shown that he is indeed a master of the game. By all standards, OLIC I was an absolute success, OLIC II was a massive shut down of Lagos, Nigeria but OLIC III promises to be history making as Olamide and his team are set to bring a concert like never seen before in the history of concerts in Nigeria. The rapper has urged his loyal fans to anticipate the surprise of a lifetime. For concert updates, log on to http://akadagist.com/olamide-set-rock-lagos-3rd-edition-olamide-live-concert-olic-3/

The process of clearing the weed is usually repeated several times in the growth season due to the fast rate of growth of these plants especially the water hyacinth which is the most commonly found weed in Lagos. The water hyacinth is dangerous to our waterways because of the abundance of its leaves, dense vegetation and innumerable rootlets which in turn obstruct water flow, and pose a challenge to irrigation processes. They also curtail recreational activities such as swimming, boat transportation and other attractions. The water hyacinth becomes breeding places to mosquitoes, snakes, snails and frogs, hence leading to malaria, schistosomiasis, encephalitis, and cholera. The weed also changes water chemistry by reducing its levels of oxygen leading to suffocation, and eventual death of living organisms including fishes. This is a very laudable project which reflects the commitment of the government to ensuring that out /r The government has ordered more of these weed harvesters so they can be effectively deployed in every area in Lagos state where water weed has become a menace. Find below more pictures of the weed harvesters being put to use; Source:- http://www.bamsforum.com/lagos-acquires-water-weed-harvesters.html |
Ghanaians go to the polls on December 7th and the police is making sure the electorate turn up in their numbers to cast their votes. Police Superintendent Isaac Amekudzi of Agona Odobeng in the Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa District of the Central Region has revealed that persons who refuse to vote in the forthcoming general elections may be arrested. The officer said voting is a constitutional provision and those who don’t turn up show disregard for the laws. He said it will be a waste of resources for the country to organise an election and the voters don’t show up. “Voting is all about democracy and also one’s civic responsibility to vote during election. So on the day of elections if you are seen loitering around and not voting as required, the police may be compelled to enforce the law by arresting you”, he warned. “All Ghanaians should all vote because of democracy rather than fighting and drinking excessively on the day”, he urged. He enjoined citizens to come out en masse rather than spend the time in leisure and drinking. “On my part, I will also make sure that all the ‘wee’ joints and akpeteshi bars will be shut down during the Election day”, he disclosed. http://www.bamsforum.com/ghanaian-police-arrest-citizens-dont-vote-forthcoming-general-elections.html

Tsav was apparently reacting to a recent call by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Buhari to resign for allegedly “destroying” the economy. He told Tribune that in a critical time like this, Nigeria “needs a leader like President Buhari to restructure Nigeria. The policies made so far, as well as anti- corruption crusade are needed tonic to get out of the problems we have found ourselves. “Those complaining now are enemies of Nigeria. In a situation like this, before we get things right, there must be pangs of inconvenience and thereafter there is light at the end of tunnel. That is why I am appealing for patience, because everything will soon be right.” On the way forward from the economic quagmire, the outspoken former police boss said, “The way out is to continue to honour those who served this nation so as to boost the morale of Nigerians and encourage dignity of labour. But not to heap praises on those looters who have destroyed the country. “Also, let the present administration strengthen the anti-corruption agencies to deal with all those corrupt leaders. “Let me emphasise that President Muhammadu Buhari is doing the best thing in this direction and I appeal to Nigerians to be patient with him because the rot had been too much and to fix it will take a long time. But I think we are in a better hand to get out of the mess, which the past administration has thrown us into.” He added that the whole problem with Nigeria today “started when military took over on flimsy excuses that the then politicians were corrupt. This was the narrative the military used to rubbish the then politicians. “Whereas, these people were trained under the colonial masters and they have moral value; highly disciplined, honest, selfless service were the hallmark of this set of people.” http://naijabams.com/

A wicked woman who killed her one week old baby and stashed it in a plastic bag before dumping it at a popular area has been arrested and sentenced to years imprisonment. A 24-year-old woman identified as Rosetta Precious Moyo, from Cowdray Park suburb in Johannesburg, South Africa, who killed her one week old baby and stashed it in a plastic bag before throwing it away, has been arrested. She claimed to have dumped her new-born baby at Barbourfields Stadium after it had died on their way to hospital. The Chroncle reported that the woman went on to escape from police custody and stole documents relating to her arrest to destroy evidence, but she was later re-arrested and was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment. She appeared before Western Commonage Magistrate, Ms Tancy Dube charged with infanticide, unlawful escape from custody and theft. She pleaded not guilty but Ms Dube convicted her due to overwhelming evidence. Under pressure during cross examination, Moyo broke down and confessed that she committed all the crimes she was charged with. Ms Dube lashed out at her for her unbecoming behaviour. “I don’t even have the words to describe what you have done,” the magistrate said. “Cruel, selfish people like you should be dealt with in an exemplary manner to send a message to society that such will not be tolerated. You are therefore sentenced to 33 months in prison. “For the first count you are sentenced to 15 months imprisonment of which five months will be suspended for three years on condition that within that period you will not commit any offence involving infanticide. “For the second count, you are sentenced to nine months in prison. Three months will be suspended for three years on condition that you don’t commit an offence involving theft within that period. “For the third count, you are sentenced to nine months imprisonment, of which three months will be suspended on condition that you don’t commit an offence involving escape from lawful custody,” Dube added. Moyo will serve an effective 22 months in prison. http://www.bamsforum.com/woman-nabbed-paraded-killing-1-week-old-baby-stashing-plastic-bag-photo.html

An open, high-tempo showdown looms, which will be scrutinised for title pointers. Esther Yakubu, mother to one of the abducted Chibok School girls has said that Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is not fit to called a president. Esther who was almost in tears at the 900 days commemoration of the abduction of 218 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists from their hostel, said the attitude of the president towards the rescue of the girls is unfair. “It is unfair, he did not deserve to be my president (sobbing) because if he be one, people used to risk life of thousands to rescue one life but 218 are still missing and he has the guts, he had that spirit in him to say that he does not want to talk about it,” Esther said. President Buhari had at a United Nations meeting in New York said that he would not want to discuss the issue of the abducted school girls anymore. The president had also called for assistance from the international body in fighting terrorism in Nigeria. “As my sister said, the president said he doesn’t want to speak about it, we too we don’t want him to say anything but all what we want him to release the fighters so that our girls can come home,” Esther continued. “We don’t even want him to discuss anything about our girls but to release the fighters (Boko Haram terrorists held by the federal government) so that our girls can come home. “That is what we want from him and that is what we want him to do for us. “If our girls are back, we would not have to come and stay here and be saying all sorts of things that you don’t want to hear,” she said. She said what is important to her and her family is for the missing girls to be rescued so that they can be reunited with their families and siblings. Esther is a mother to Dorcas, one of the girls that was abducted by the terrorist group on April 14, 2014. Dorcas who appeared in a recent video released by the group had in a similar note begged President Muhammadu Buhari to bid to the demands of the group and facilitate their release. http://www.bamsforum.com/mother-missing-chibok-girl-comes-buhari-says-hes-not-fit-president.html

The France international saw a late effort crash against the bar, but his coach pointed out that even the best players in the world sometime err from the spot Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann will continue taking penalties despite his latest miss, coach Diego Simeone said. Griezmann put his 84th-minute spot-kick against the crossbar, but Atletico still claimed a 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday. A first-half goal by Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, set up by Griezmann, was enough for the LaLiga giants. Atletico down Bayern in Champions League clash Atletico have taken three penalties in their last four Champions League games, failing to score any of them-with two missed by Griezmann. “[Diego] Maradona, [Lionel] Messi, [Michel] Platini and Zico have all missed penalties. Griezmann will carry on taking them,”Simeone said, via UEFA. “We are very happy with his work. He started the counter-attack for the goal and he did a thousand things. “For me, he is in amongst the best forwards in the world.” Carrasco’s pinpoint finish in the 35th minute proved the match-winner for Simeone’s side. The Argentinian was also full of praise for midfielder Koke, saying: “We have been working with Koke for the last two years, moving him more inside. “He is looking more natural there and seems to be the boss in there. It works well and he enables the team recover the ball much more quickly.” http://www.bamsforum.com/griezmann-will-still-take-penalties-simeone-says-messi-maradona-platini-missed-penalties.html

The Nigerian international Alex Iwobi has reiterated his desire to win the English Premier League title with Arsenal. The Gunners’ last success in the English topflight came in the 2003-04 season when they went undefeated, and the youngster believes winning the diadem as well as the Champions League title would be amazing. “Personally, I want to win the Premier League. That would be an amazing feeling,”Iwobi told BBC News beat. “But for the club the most important one has got to be the Champions League. “That’s the big one, and to win that would be like a dream come true.” Iwobi also disclosed that manager Arsene Wenger is a great manager because of the advice he gives to players. Under the Frenchman, the Emirates Stadium giants have won six FA Cup titles and three Premier League trophies. “At the moment, because I’m not really the best at defending, he says I need to treat it how I treat attacking,”he continued.
